How to Grow Your Hair Out Faster

  • This video is packed with my favorite tips on how to grow your hair out faster. Since my hair is no longer a pixie, and I have been wearing it longer, this has been my number one most requested video.
    Let’s recap my tips from the video:
    - Don’t wash your hair so often. Stop drying out your scalp and hair and let your hair produce the natural oils your hair needs and loves.
    - Pull your bangs back. The back of your hair will grow faster than the rest of your hair, so braid, twist, or pin back your bangs until they have a chance to catch up.
    - Because the back of your hair grows faster, you should trim more off the back of your hair than the top. I usually just nick the split ends on the top and then take a full inch or so off the bottom. Also, trimming your hair consistently will make your ends look fuller and thicker, thus making your hair look and feel longer.
    - Brush your hair from root to end. Using a good brush will help stimulate your scalp and promote blood flow, which promotes hair growth.
    - Steam your head with a hot towel. This will relax your scalp and open up your pores.
    - Start taking Biotin to help promote hair growth, nail growth, and increase your body's energy.
    Those are my top suggestions for growing your hair out faster!

    All ur hair grows the same speed. The reason it feels like the back of ur hair grows faster is because it's lower than the rest of the hair.

      I'm sorry, but my hair grows at different speed. And the reason I know this???? I color my hair, and there are certain places where the roots are longer than other places. For example, my left side in front grows at a faster speed. My fringe unfortunately, grows more slowly, and I really take care of it. I've measured it, and so have some of my friends and my hairdresser. Not all the same speed. With that said, my hair grows really fast most of the time even in the places it grows more slowly.

    Tip number one should be--- Stop going every 6 weeks to get your hair cut...no matter how frustrating it is with your hair being uneven or going thru bad hair days----It can't grow out if you are constantly cutting it off...

    • @danissarodriguezn
      @danissarodriguezn 7 років тому +9

      Michelle Hickey it can get split ends that cause your hair to thin out and break off and stops you from growing it out to a certain length, so you SHOULD cut your hair every 2-3 months.. Just a trim tho

      Your speaking to me and I need to hear it. I've had a pixie for 5 years and I hate the grow out. Hate. It. It doesn't help that I cut my own hair. I have access to hair scissors all the time. Lol. I need to refrain and just Let It Grow. Like the 🎵song...🤨😀 I can do it!!!!!

    I'm growing my hair out for the second time this year. I got stupid and cut it off again when I was ALMOST WHERE I WANTED TO BE. I just want a bob with bangs. I grew it out almost completely over the summer. Which is crazy. My hair grows extremely fast. As well as my nails. So I'm hoping that in 5-6 months I will be done. I don't feel that bad about cutting it again because I didn't have a plan to actually grow it out, and everyone kept pressuring me to cut it. It was also still damaged from dyeing it, and now it's all my natural. Last time I cut it was October 21st. My profile picture is from that day. My bangs have already grown down to the bottom of my eye, so it's going well.

  • @Postwarinktrap
    @Postwarinktrap 7 років тому +9

    Some people don't realize that you can also just rinse your hair with hot water. It will take the build up away from your scalp, while dispersing your natural oils throughout your hair. This may only work for coarse, dry hair like mine though.

  • @maisonneuvepageau
    @maisonneuvepageau 8 років тому +10

    I would suggest to add olive oil (or other favourite oil) to your scalp when you do the hot towel session!!! To remove without doing 3 shampoos 😜 rinse with Apple Cider vinegar! Also brings shine and tames frizz!
    Going on a year and a half of growing out my pixie and my hair is pass my shoulders! My bangs are chin length 😒. I mainly rely on my clip in extensions to ease my pain😋

    Ok the not washing too much is so true. I do it once to twice a week and both times I did short haircuts I have noticed my hair growing super fast. I didn't connect the two. I just stopped washing as often because I knew it was overworking my scalp. So glad for the benefit of growth.

    Hi Whippy! I've been enjoying your videos ever since I searched pixie cuts, but I haven't labelled you that way, in fact, I am happy you are growing out your hair because I want to as well. I can go 2 day or 3 on the weekends, but that product build up is not fun as my hair is quite thin. I have tried the little tiny buns out of my bangs, like you, but not a good look for me, my forehead is wrinkly, yes I said it and my buns are so small! I have a lot of unevenness on top but my back grows the fastest while and only one section of my bangs grow fast, so it takes dreadfully long. I do look to you for encouragement and I am following you like crazy for tips. I've been dying my own roots too, (I love your dark roots) as man it's so expensive to get roots and a cut these days! (I would prefer to buy handbags with my money) Overall I am very supportive of all your many looks and I love watching every one of your vids. Keep them up and let's see you get your bangs even with your bottom. I like the posts that show your hair at the back too. Take care. c xx

    I just recently got my pixie cut trimmed and asked my stylist, whom I've been going to for about 5 years, "Does your hair grow faster if you stop washing it." And she replied with "No, not washing your hair does not stop your growth at all, for some people it may dry their scalps but not their hair." Just letting you all know that you don't have to have greasy hair thinking it will grow your hair.

    • @jessicah3450

      Exactly, not washing it can lead to a buildup of hormones on the scalp for some women that causes hair loss and thinning.

      It's actually taken a little longer than a year for it to get from a pixie to this length but I totally love it at the length that it's at now. Growing it out really is the hardest part because of all the awkward stages but it was totally worth! Plus it's always fun to try something new. :)

    Hey whip!
    You rock! I've been watching your videos for a couple three years now and just realized...IVE NEVER SAID THANK YOU🤭.
    Find you and your methods sooo relatable, do-able and helpful. I got a pixie a few years back because you made it look so easy and fun...YOU WERE RIGHT! I love it and get compliments on my hair which NEVER happened in my first 50 years on the planet. Thank you. Now on to my delemma: I don't have good hair to start with, haven't seen my natural color since the 80's (bleach) and my hair needs less cutting these days bc it simply snaps off due to over or double processing (I can't seem to do my roots without ending up with product root to ends by the time I'm done and don't have anyone to help me🙄I do coconut oil on the ends before I bleach, but alas, as hard as I try, I'm covered in bleach root to tips by the time I'm done. You make it look so easy. What am I doing wrong. My hair is getting shorter energy 6 weeks just bc it's breaking off. Any hoo, any suggestions?
    Love you, and your videos.
    Thankfully yours,

    I am going on my third time growing out my pixie. I always love the pixie cut but have a hard time finding a stylist to keep the cut going well. Last time I grew it out, I ended up with a serious cowlick in the back of my hair. I literally couldn't get my hair to not grow sideways. My hair dresser initially shaved about 2 inches off the back to "hide" it and then I ended up going pixie again. My question is, is there a way to not have this cowlick problem? I have never had an issue up until last time I grew my hair out, but as it is growing into a mullet now, I see it popping up again. Love your videos!!!

    The last time I shaved my head was about June 20th. It is now August 24th and my hair is about an inch and a half almost 2 inches long. I've been using The Mane Choice Growth Oil from my work and I have dyed my hair a lot in the last couple months. It's black right now but I'm trying to leave it alone even though my natural hair is going to come through and it'll be a little strange being an ash blonde. But I just want my hair to come out and I'm really hoping that not touching it whatsoever besides using a Growth Oil will help

    Just discovered you (love) and realized this video is from 2016!! Have any of your ideas changed since then? I would think biotin would be pretty high up on the list (I have health issues that effect my hair growth which is why I am in supplement mode). Do you still recommend that type brush? My stylist went way shorter than I wanted this time, when I was really trying to grow out (it was lack of communication on both of us), and I have been having to also use products to get out brassiness, when I already have health stuff effecting hair, so I am looking for all the advice I can get to get it and keep it healthy, but also get some length back, altho I am near embracing the shorter hair. (I had actually only wantd it shorter if I could get one of thos cute undercuts, but she said my hair was too thin/fine for that, so I showed her a longer pic. Anyway, there was confusion, lol). Anyway, I am loving your vids and your personality and so glad I found you. Many blessings!! :-)

    I am growing my hair out from a pixie cut. It's pretty even now around the bottom. However, I can't grow my bangs out because I have a ginormous, high, wide forehead with high cheekbones and full round cheeks. So no bangs looks terrible on me. However, I am stuck in a rut when it comes to other styles! I can't really leave it down on dirty day three because it really isn't very pretty! My bangs are grown out and my hair is about to my chin-ish. Am I too old to do the bum thing you do? I turned 40 in February. Any advice you have I'll take!! 1st.. DO NOT BE SORRY! I am a talker too and love comments. I would start training your hair by going a little bit longer in-between washes. You will (hopefully) find your hair will start to handle being worn down on day 3 and 4. But girl, you are not too old! As long as you feel comfortable, that is all that matters! I love that look and it is good for your hair.

      If you lower your head and then massage it, it'll get more blood flowing to your scalp (thus more blood flow to your hair follicles) and should help a little bit. I'm not sure, but I think it's called the inversion method. When you brush your hair, start from the bottom. Brushing down directly from your scalp only drags any knots down to the ends. Just a little a tip that I give to people. My mom read an article about the "positive effects of taking cool showers". I'm not sure if this is true, but I guess you could at least rinse your scalp cool water.
      I've been growing my hair out for about 3 years and it would have been approaching the lower part of my shoulder blades had I not cut it(to make it even). Don't stress about your hair, it'll grow. :)
