Bought the 30 degree as soon as it came out. Have nailed thousands of nails so far and it is fantastic! Not one jam yet. Drives 3 1/2 inch ring shank nails deep. It is heavy but for me I don’t nail all day so not having to drag the compressor and hose around and up stairs is completely worth it. I have every single other nail gun from ryobi and they’re all great, except the 15 gauge gets stuck and needs to be sprayed or oiled frequently. Hopefully they come out with a second Gen soon.
Purchased one this week along with a 6.0AH One+ HP battery,fast charger,1000 pack box of 90mm×3.15 bright nails and a little bottle of lubrication oil from Bunnings Warehouse for pallet repairs/modifications and custom built pallets at work. Haven't gotten it out of the box yet and tried because I've been busy cutting firewood today for next year.
I’ve got some Ryobi HP stuff and I quite like it. I too think the build quality is very impressive. Not the smallest stuff but very decent. I also have some non HP stuff and that stuff is a different league to the HP gear.
Because you dont specify what type of framing nailers , Makita GN 900 7,2V gas nailer . Not DIY tool for casual use because gas canister always leak . Pneumatic nailers Makita AN 944 , 21° for 50-90mm nails , AN 902 for 50-90mm , AN 960 or AN 961 for 55-100mm nails , 15°-16° all 3 have drum clip for 200 - 300 nails . Its not that Makita does not have amazing framing nailers , they just cant get that tech to cordless unit . these tools are in their under 9 bar tools . Makita high pressure nailer for 12,8-22,6 bar systems , AN711H , for 45 -75 mm nails , drum clip 0° , 300 nails . Thats the one they should make a cordless one from.
Something I've found when nailing on fence pailings is to not use a framing gun. A coil gun is where its at. Framing gun is fine for short runs with a few cool down breaks, but I've found with my Milwaukee that when it starts getting hot, it hits harder because there's more pressure in the gas canister, which puts more strain on the firing pin and the end buffer, as well as sinking your nails deeper.
Yeah these battery adapters for makita to ryobi are awesome. I use the little ryobi blower and also the ryobi hot-glue gun this way. Considering the fly zapper for camping trips too.
Seriously! I own Makita cordless tools. I ended up going Ryobi for cordless nail guns. I’m really impressed with their brad and finish guns. I will absolutely give this a shot.
@@For891 you can’t really go wrong for the price with Ryobi. perfect for the home owner/DIYer. But they wouldn’t hold up to the everyday abuse I give them professionally so I went SENCO for all my battery guns. I’d go Milwaukee if I had to do it again. always used senco air guns before battery guns became useful. there guns last a lifetime with little to no servicing.
Just a point on grain orientation. I believe for LVL, the grain is always orientated lengthways, giving it greater resistance to bending. For sheets, however, you are correct that each layer is opposite to the last, which gives it strength in all directions.
This actually seems like a decent 1st fix gun. Iv used an older generation gas paslode and it didn’t sink the nails as nicely as this did. and gas guns are nothing but grief. i always opt for screws now tho as nailers don’t pull wood together and you end up with gappy joints. 100mm screws all day long for any 2x framing work.

The GN900SE is great when it works, but that’s it away for its second repair while I use a Fischer thing, which is actually Infinitely more reliable…
I must have got a dud.. Mine punched a few nails in, now only grunts and shows solid red light every time I try to use it, I wait for green light, try again and it grunts again.. battery is still showing full bars and there is no jam. Disappointing
Mine does the red light sometimes when I turn it upside-down. It's annoying, but still useable. I use the AEG one as my go to. By the way, I loved your Angry Ram channel back in the day, classic stuff.

I figured out that it doesn't like cold day's 10c or lower, I tried it again on a warm day and it is much better, it doesn't work at certain angles either, weird.. Still gives red light occasionally but I'm in no hurry so I give it time to sort itself out.. Angry Rams son is still causing havoc, he broke into the neighbor's garden last week and got stuck in to his veges 😂
I’ll still take the Hikoki, you can turn it on one handed it up on a ladder etc, wrist flick, till the gun back and rest on your palm two fingers grip the handle, index switches it on. Idk about the Milwaukee haven’t used it enough.
I’m gonna need to take your word for it on that one. I can’t even see the LED’s on my hitachi’s, while holding down the microwave button and not having a fuel gauge on my batts. Spent a lot of time wondering if the batteries are dead or if I’ve turned the tool on or off or burst mode or…. Fucking hell.
That Ryobi seems to be an interesting backwards compatibility from Milwaukee to Ryobi. While people joke that Milwaukees are just Red Ryobis, this seems a case where this is a Green Milwaukee.

That what happens when senco design it. If you want an extended mag the AEG/RIDGID fit. Most of TTI framing nailers are designed of F35xp nailer.

I picked up a Makita battery to Ryobi tool adaptor yesterday. For my less used tools, I reckon 75% as good at 50% the price fits the brief.

I have 4. The one I grab the most is the AEG. Is it the best... probably not, but for small tasks it is the quickest and easiest one to use IMHO

I use 100mm bugle head batten screws to fix my rails to the posts. If I had more budget I'd be using stainless decking screws on the pailings
