I feel like Disney should remove Buzz Lightyear Blasters and Monster Inc. Then add new Pixar stuff that could connect to Pixar Pier and the Pixar Place. And then add Frozen and Never, Never Land and another Star Wars expansion. But a different planet that looks like Mos Eisley. They should commit and add a Star Wars hotel. Just a hotel. Id love a CoCo land thatd be so dope! Good suggestion Brickey!
You've got a point about those Pixar properties, they belong near the Pixar Place. I also think removing Paradise Park to include Ratatouille and WALL-E attractions would be fantastic.
i would agree that star wars as a whole needs an expansion. the droids and charachters are nice but prequel and original trilogy fans need something that isnt just star tours. i dont think an entirely new land is possible but i do see smugglers run (and maybe even rise) getting updates to allow more eras. (it would be so fun if instead of doing the shipping bay you could also do the 2nd death star run. it would break immersion a little but the game would be so fun.
Hey, Nrickey, I would love a video where you ask subscribers to give ideas on what they would put in the new areasand you rank those :) Just an idea. I think it would be fun
I think if they do a Toy Story land. It will involve rethemeing golden zephyr to a buzz lightyear or the green aliens from Toy Story and rethemeing jumping jellyfish to the toy soldier parachute jumping ride and remove goofy sky school and replace it with the rc racer ride from the other Toy Story lands and move silly symphony swings to inside the helix of the incredicoaster and put Slinky Dog Zigzag Spin ride on the silly symphony swings plot if it’s fits
Another great video. I think we are in one of the most transformative eras in Disneyland History. I like to think of future citizens of Disneyland revisiting these kind of videos in a few decades laughing at everything we got wrong. But I truly think some of your predictions here are gonna hit, especially frozen/coco/encanto. Keep up the great work brotha
I really hope you're right about Coco and Encanto. Toy Story already has too much representation in the parks, and frankly it's a pretty old IP that is pretty well played out at this point (still popular, but closer to the point of waning interest than peak interest). I also agree with you about not seeing Tron working here. The one wild card there is if the new movie proves to be wildly popular. I'm still holding out hope for the Beauty And The Beast dark ride.
Toy Story Land would be such a dumb move because then we’d have a similar situation to having an entire land devoted to Star Wars, while also having a Star Wars themed ride elsewhere (re-theme Star Tours Disney; it’s the right thing to do). There is already so much Toy Story IP spread out through DCA that it’s honestly already too much. TBH, I think you’re 100% right about all of it, and I’m with you; none of it is anything I want to see happen. Fix Tomorrowland and make it GOOD. Then you can do whatever you want to Disneyland Forward. Even if I live long enough to see it completed I’ll be too freaking old to enjoy it.
i dont see them moving star tours or buzz.... for the sole reason that (one its a huge hassle) but two they would then need to do that with disneyworld as well. and i dont know if disney would spend the investment to move those two rides to the correct spots.. I do think however that we will be getting one to two more rides in the land and disney seems more set on adding to the park rather then replacing as that was the whole push for this expansion to begin with.
Honestly they don’t need to move Star Tours, because it’s the same ride concept as Smugglers Run; they don’t need two in Galaxy’s Edge. They should either re-theme it or rip it out completely to restructure the land.
I hope that they place Monstropolis in the Hollywood Backlot, Encanto near Pixar Place, Encanto near the Fronteir Tower, and Frozen or Tangled near the Fantasy tower.
I think doing a fantasy springs with Frozen, Tangled, and the Beauty and the Beast Tokyo ride would be an absolute home run for Disneyland’s expansion pad. They need to get that Beauty and the Beast ride in English somewhere.
Be nice if DLR made a little sense as far as Tomorrowland goes. Take Star Tours to it’s proper home of Batuu, give that place a Space Traveling Depot. And get rid of any Leftover Paris Steam Punk (Astro Orbitor) it’s tacky! Then I’ll be happy 😁
I think there’s a 99% probability Frozen goes to the Disneyland expansion and Avatar goes somewhere in DCA. Aside from that, hard to say. I think Coco makes absolute perfect sense in DCA, but Disney hasn’t really given us a whole lot of hints about that. I feel like they’d want synergy with Pixar hotel and Toy Story is the most Pixar property ever… I guess I’m just not a personal fan of Slinky’s roller coaster which is really the only ride to lift from Disneyworld. That said, Slinky is one of the more popular rides out in Disney World and the Toy Story dining restaurant is also wildly popular, so it would make total sense to see it copied over, especially since Toy Story land seems like it’s on the cheaper side of pricing to develop since it’s pretty basic.
Also, Brickey ive heard others talk about what if they added a second entrance to each park on that end. It could help with people not feeling like they have to go super far to get in and out of the park.
The Frozen land is roughly 7 acres, it would have to be 3 times the size to fill the entire Disneyland side of the expansion pad as the parking lot is roughly 20-25 acres depending on how much of the land they use. Something to think about ?
ye many people are hoping for a fantasy springs esk thing to come to disneyland (a land that contains other lands concept) just not the same ip's (except frozen.. frozen is appearing at every park) stuff like maybe encanto beauty and the beast, moana, aladin, or maybe one of the princesses we havent seen get representation. possibly filling in the rest of the space? (personal picks logically beiung encanto, moana, and or beauty.)
Great series of videos on Disneyland Forward, Brickey. One thing that’s missing from our excitement about new lands and attractions is hotels. I think most of the new zoning will be covered with new hotels. Disney double dips on out of town guests when they stay on property, so that’s what most of this rezoned land will be dedicated to. Disney is using new lands and attractions to get attention and approval, but I believe most of the new development will go towards Disney hotels.
Brickey love your videos, I was wondering if imagineers can adapt the flight of passage ride system unto a coco attraction where we ride the coco alejibres animals throughout the land of the dead.
Hey Brickey! I like the idea of Toy Story Land, Coco, and Avatar in the Simba lot for DCA. Now for the OG DTD parking lot why not a Dark Kingdom for the Villains. Imagine a Night on Bald Mountain Chernabog coaster, an Escape from Malificient Stepple Chase coaster, an Ursula Grotto boat plunge, a Facilier Friends on the other side bar, Hades Underworld tour, Scar’s New Era Delicious Eatery, the Evil Queens Delicious Red Apple cart, Yzma and Kronk’s Mad lab!
Im desperatly hoping the plans shown to anaheim are legit and not like that.. Disney feels to much like an expensive mall right now so if the plans commissioned to Anaheim come to fruition in the idea of 14 new rides and 5 thrill rides ill be ecstatic.. although im aware that, thats probably the best posible outcome of many outcomes..
@@moovudu4822 I tend to be looked on as a pariah when it comes to Disney and their future plans. They just don't seem consumer friendly anymore and focus on being a giant Disney shopping mall rather than an actual fun interactive park. I also think it's pathetic that it's all going to be IP-based with no original lands going forward. Very disappointing to know
@@Elayzee I do have an ounce of hope. that while yes were probably going to get way to many stores compared to what we actually need. I believe the quality of the areas around the stores and the rides that go along with them have the chance to be extremely good. ( if galaxys edge is anything to look at for comparison.) I still highly blame chapek for the failure of avengers campus and while iger doesnt have the cleanest record when it comes tot making lands. He did still allow the go ahead to make Galaxys Edge. Which while seemingly lacking something is by far disneylands most immersive land (not of all ofthem but just of whats in the parks on the west.) so i do have some ounce of hope that while the lands wont be as high quality as fantasy springs, there will still be some ounce of quality to it. (im also hoping that disney takes the threat of epic universe seriously)
Great video! Whatever is built it's safe to assume that nothing from Tokyo will be built here. It just never happens. If Arrendale is built here it will be with a clone of the Maelstrom-based ride and not the Tokyo one.
sadly thats what many people are seeing. with places looking strikingly similar to the hong kong varient. but maybe (somehow) we will get lucky and get something original? (still frozen based and probably not as good as tokyos. because tokyo spends more on their parks.) but maybe. just maybe we will get a decent ride?
I’m not crazy with building lands based on IPs. Their popularity is not guaranteed for the long haul. I would love to see Villains land. If they add any IPs I believe Frozen, Encanto, and Coco would be popular.
*Avatar/Wakanda in the Simba Lot *Re-do, tear down & re-theme the entire & surrounding GoofysSky school area to Coco *Zootopia in the bus loading area *Frozen/Tangled within FantasyLand theatre/Autopia after an overhaul of the area…including rebuilding Matterhorn & make it part of the FrozenLand skyline?? 🤔 *Stitch Lot = ??? (Something SUPPPEEEER special WITH LOTS OF THOUGHT for the future no other park will have, to honor Walt’s OG park & possibly its final expansion area ever!) 💕 MAYBE go into the archives of his final ideas & work off those in someway somehow? Old EpCot ideas that can be reimagined for that space?!? *Country Bears retheme of Grizzly Peak *Acquire Anaheim Gardenwalk to make a Disney Springs WEST. *Toy Story Lot will be the 3rd gate. WHO KNOWS?! Just my random thoughts. It’s fun to imagine 😃
Ohhh!!! Also just thought how cool it would be to theme the transitional bridge from proper DCA to the Simba Lot from the COCO day of dead bridge into maybe into EncantoLand or something!! 😍
Great breakdown video Brickey! Wonder what the chances of a Villains area coming to the Disneyland side of the expansion would be? I’m just hoping all this leads to the badly needed re-vamp of Tomorrowland!
There’s a strong chance Tomorrowland happens before this stuff. I’m in love with the idea of a villains land and if that land is fully indoors to always have the cloak of darkness in its evil storyline, that makes a lot of problems go away
Great Analysis. Do you think they will use the original zoned space for Disneyland (discontinued expansion of Galaxy's Edge) behind Mickey and Friends for anything? I feel like a portal land back there would still have great potential as they would basically have no height requirement on one side.
something to consider...the best place for zootopia, would be coming out of critter country...putting it in the disneyland expansion...along with frozen, and maybe a villain's land...that would fill one parking lot. for cal adventure expansion, wakanda is a no go...but a toy story land can go by pixar place....with avitar land, and a few others.
For a while now, I've thought they should build a Santa Cecilia from "Coco." I've been telling friends that should replace the Hollywood Backlot--picture a slow-moving dark ride where guest ride an alebrije to the Land of the Dead. Maybe integrate a restaurant in the vein of Pirates & The Blue Bayou.
With so much in the corner of DCA where Silly school swings, Jumpin Jellyfish, not to mention the restraunts. I could see a possible Woody's Roundup BBQ like out east, plus maybe a slinky dog attraction to help fill in the space to correspond with toy story mania and then lead into the hotel. Im for a better immersion of Avengers Campus if that were to expand to include Wakanda or whatever. With so many opportunities of characters and possibilities, it could transform that whole area to a G.E. feel. Im absolutely 💯 on board with Encanto and Coco addition. My worries on that is with leaked expansion already taking place in DinoLand out east that it would somehow make Indi not releavant here since this is what theybare talking about out east and an south Americas style land out there. I would like to see the villans area here but, again, the same thing, that seems to be the consensus for out east past BTR area.
Wakanda could take over Hollywoodland and expand Avengers Campus at the same time. The monorail could pass behind a glass wall that changes its appearance to something that fits in with Wakanda. Zootopia could blend in with the hotel towers providing "tall buildings" as backdrops (similar how the fake building facades were used in Paris for Tower of Terror.)
I agree that Toy Story would be better suited for DCA. I think Disney is realizing that one issue they have with the second gate is that there is less in that park for families with younger children. When we go for 4 days, we only spend one in DCA due to the lack of rides that our kids are interested in.
I would agree I think both parks need a little bit of balancing (while there is a lot of thrill in disneyland i do think the park needs something bigger, something to contend with the likes of mummy and fast and the furious in universal to push for peeps my age to go more often. But DCA (besides cars land) does also desperatly need more immersive lands and kid orientated lands. as the parks pretty right now.. but it just feels a tad to much like a theme park still. unlike disneyland which feels like a different kind of experience. Both just need to balance out more without replacing to much. (which is why im excited for the expansion)
I could see that exact dca expansion except maybe encanto, I could see them bringing it to Disneyland as apart of a fantasy springs west with maybe also frozen, tangeled, lion king and villains
I'm 100% in for any Coco and Encanto lands! Those are two of my favorites in the newer stories Disney has put out. I was just having a discussion with my friend about how I wish Tiana's Bayou Adventure could have been something for Moana. Or really anything other than Tiana since there is already two places for her in New Orleans and there's going to be more in Critter Country. My friend said since Epcot has a Moana experience/ride, Disney isn't going to repeat what WDW has in DL. I disagree because there are plenty of examples of repeating rides, so I don't think that's a valid point. All that said, what are your thoughts on repeating rides or 14:24 variations of a ride in different parks? Personally, while I love Tiana, I love Moana and I would like some more representation of her in DL.
i.. dont mean to flush. but there is a chance we get moana. but with the near confirmation we have had with avatar coming out. i highly doubt it. as the pacific islander experience will be given to avatar (due to the 2nd movie) and i would like to argue that yes while she has stuff in new orleans. tiana makes the most logical sense to fill the gap of splash mountain (almost better then base splash mountain) as it seamelessly fills the gap between the new orleans area, french corner, and haunted mansion. with the likes of pooh bear. Although i will warn you logically i can see encanto and frozen having more leverage then moana despite how popular it is here in california. (again almost soley because of avatar already making a land with similar themes and enviroments.) but i could still be wrong and we could be suprised
I'm new to your channel and really enjoy your take on the plans that Disney has for the area. I lived in Anaheim when I was younger and was very involved in the 1990s Wescot 2000 community support group for the then-future Disneyland Resort / Abaheim Resort. It's pretty wild to see a new phase of expansions, and very exciting to see vloggers such as yourself cover it so well. Keep up the great work.
I'm thinking they turn Disney Drive into a tunnel road or just remove it all together. Expand both parks across the street (using the street) and make a tunnel to the Californian hotel only. Just a thought.
I agree with you regarding TRON. Rode it in both Shanghai and WDW…. It’s good, but it’s not necessary and not a good fit for Disneyland. While Frozen is a beautiful land, my preference would be for it not to be included at Disneyland. I would prefer Encanto and/ or Coco.
theres a high chance to both. it seems like frozen is becoming a staple to the disney parks as one is going to every single park with the only one not confirmed being on the west coast. but like he said theres a pretty high chance that we will be getting both frozen and encanto/coco. (of course i could be wrong but with the ips disney can choose from right now it would make the most sense that those two will be chosen.) unless disney pulls a fast one and gives us a non ip based area but thats just me dreaming
the chances of us getting somehting like disney sea or epcot is slim (especially with the current people who run it.) but that third gate that he mentioned does have the possibility to be a almost fully non themed area but.. then again thats super unlikely just cause leadership right now
If they do wakanda land over in Hollywood land they could theme that section of the monorail with those weird dampener posts that move when their emag trains go by and add in some purple lighting could make it work, but I'd only want wakanda if they could get a couple really good eticket rides
Friendly tip: Try to include more Google Earth and maps, as it helps many people (including me) who haven’t been to Disneyland. Another great video though! I always enjoy watching your content!!
@@HeyBrickeyI am also among those that haven’t been to Disneyland, but enjoy your videos. I understand where flyoff is coming from in terms of being confused about what is going where. I have a couple of suggestions that would help us and maybe others who have been to DL, but are geographically-challenged. The first thing is that the maps need to stay up longer and highlight the area you’re talking about. Right now, by the time I figure out where the things I know are, the map is gone and I’ve missed the point. So, I’d say keep the map full-screen a few more seconds and do something to make the area you’re talking about stand out. You could also put the map on screen with you when appropriate. It will mean less exposure for your hand sidekick, but he’ll be ok. In these videos, there’s plenty of time where what is on the screen either isn’t pertinent (a parking lot is a parking lot) or has been shown before, so I don’t think you lose anything. The flip side is that it would be more work. I don’t know if you have time for that, but I think it would make these videos more broadly appealing and help the channel grow. Hopefully, you found this constructive, pun only sorta intended.
@@lucaslgswitch3577 That only makes sense for how-to videos, mainly. For these videos where he is walking around mostly nondescript areas like parking lots, he needs more structure to keep the audience that doesn’t know DL intimately with him. Unfortunately, I think that these get someone to watch a video, think, “Huh, that’s probably interesting,” then forget about it. I’m just suggesting a way to help the message stick in people’s memory for a little longer and make them a little more likely to come back, even for these more conceptual videos.
Maybe I’m missing something here, but we keeping seeing lands and stuff for these solo movies, like Coco or Encanto or Zootopia, but what about Monstropolis? I feel like turning the Hollywood Backlot into Monstropolis would be perfect and I never hear that idea brought up! It could suck the Monsters Inc ride right into it and use the existing buildings right into the theme. Makes so much sense.
I have to disagree regarding Zootopia being a skyline that could hide a hotel building... I think it would be ideal to blend in a hotel to peek into the park. They could probably really up the price of rooms with a Zootopia view.
The hotels will always have a view into the park. You can only hide the hotel from the ground view. It doesn’t work the other way around. So yeah there will be lots of theme park views to come and higher prices to match.
Just one more nod that Tokyo resort has become totally superior, not the same as the other asian parks, or even France, which was born stunning. It’s going to be STOKEALICIOUS to watch Walt’s place grow into those levels and be Amazing again.
the fact that they chose to fix that problem with a project 2 times as expensive as galaxys edge is something I could only dream of here in the states. All i can hope for is that disney at least gives us something servicable (and not another avengers campus.)
I know, right? Like… even Expedition Everest dared to try something new. And so much of the main park was built around new concepts and ideas that could later be adapted into other ventures but now it’s like they have no imagination or willingness to take risks.
Don’t forget we have the Avengers in the 2nd, 6th, and 10th highest grossing film spots and still no E-ticket ride 🙃🙃 They should’ve started capitalizing Marvel while it’s still hot! I believe an Avengers Tower themed hotel space could make for a great themed land connected to a hotel. Also an Avengers Headquarters character dining lounge at the top of the Avengers tower would be $$$$!
Also would love to see a small toy story land by the Pixar hotel and then you could have Pixar meet and greets in front of hotel inside hotel they could use the hotel for backstage change area breaks whatever and you could move astroblasters and redesign to more modern shooters and upgrade with some lightyear scenes

Moving Star Tours to Galaxy’s Edge and then adding a new ride where Star Tours is would be the smartest move.
go get Star Trek IP rights and retheme Star tours to Star Trek. Don’t even need to stop calling it star tours
i dont see them moving star tours or buzz.... for the sole reason that (one its a huge hassle) but two they would then need to do that with disneyworld as well. and i dont know if disney would spend the investment to move those two rides to the correct spots..
@@Tea_and_Arsenic id honestly be surprised if they do but who know disney might suprise us and close off tommorow land for some huge update.
Who said no one is excited for Avatar? I’m excited and I know many friends and family that are as well.
That being said…I’m more excited that they add Zootopia 🙏
A+ video
My wish list for lands:
X-men campus
Coco
Nightmare before Christmas
Miles morales into the Spiderverse
Onward (land of best bros)
I hope that they place Monstropolis in the Hollywood Backlot, Encanto near Pixar Place, Encanto near the Fronteir Tower, and Frozen or Tangled near the Fantasy tower.
Disney dosent own miles morales
I can see Toy Story land as the ‘backyard’ for the hotel split doesn’t need to be tall or block the building. Ala Bug’s Land and Tower of Terror.
Great video. Do a video of what you want to go I. The new areas please.
Forget Tron... do Expedition Everest!
Brickey love your videos, I was wondering if imagineers can adapt the flight of passage ride system unto a coco attraction where we ride the coco alejibres animals throughout the land of the dead.
So many options and im sure it will be an ever changing plate of IP to choose from. Especially with the long time line and money mentioned.
"Discovery Bay".
I'm not bitter.
Great video, but I really think Disney is going to try to create a 3rd park around the resort hotels. Fantasy Springs is in Tokyo Disney Sea..
I'm calling my shot. Toy Story land takes over Tomorrowland. Space Mountain gets a buzz light year overlay. Other rides added as we go.
Lots of good news
It's going to be 85% shopping/dining/hotels and one new ride in per expansions.
Avatar fan here 🫶💙🙋♀️
Hey guys, I found one! ☝️
*Avatar/Wakanda in the Simba Lot
*Re-do, tear down & re-theme the entire & surrounding GoofysSky school area to Coco
*Zootopia in the bus loading area
*Frozen/Tangled within FantasyLand theatre/Autopia after an overhaul of the area…including rebuilding Matterhorn & make it part of the FrozenLand skyline?? 🤔
*Stitch Lot = ??? (Something SUPPPEEEER special WITH LOTS OF THOUGHT for the future no other park will have, to honor Walt’s OG park & possibly its final expansion area ever!) 💕 MAYBE go into the archives of his final ideas & work off those in someway somehow? Old EpCot ideas that can be reimagined for that space?!?
*Country Bears retheme of Grizzly Peak
*Acquire Anaheim Gardenwalk to make a Disney Springs WEST.
I feel like a portal land back there would still have great potential as they would basically have no height requirement on one side.
something to consider...the best place for zootopia, would be coming out of critter country...putting it in the disneyland expansion...along with frozen, and maybe a villain's land...that would fill one parking lot.
for cal adventure expansion,
wakanda is a no go...but a toy story land can go by pixar place....with avitar land, and a few others.
Love the rating of your predictions of what might be coming. Can’t believe you left us hanging on your wish list of what you would like to see. 😂
Grape Land!
I’m an Avatar fan and I want more Pandora!
I wish they would put a Tao lo dark ride or walk through in DCA avenger area!
I'm thinking they turn Disney Drive into a tunnel road or just remove it all together. Expand both parks across the street (using the street) and make a tunnel to the Californian hotel only. Just a thought.
Why do they keep leaving espn and the old rainforest cafe alone? Is that part of making disney bigger?
Those buildings are part of Downtown Disney. This video is about the parking lots being converted into theme park space.
3rd Gate “Villains Park” Confirmed!!!
What are the chances they develop something original (Non-IP)? I would love something like World Showcase in Epcot. That's my favorite in DisneyWorld.
the chances of us getting somehting like disney sea or epcot is slim (especially with the current people who run it.) but that third gate that he mentioned does have the possibility to be a almost fully non themed area but.. then again thats super unlikely just cause leadership right now
If they do wakanda land over in Hollywood land they could theme that section of the monorail with those weird dampener posts that move when their emag trains go by and add in some purple lighting could make it work, but I'd only want wakanda if they could get a couple really good eticket rides
Friendly tip: Try to include more Google Earth and maps, as it helps many people (including me) who haven’t been to Disneyland.
Another great video though! I always enjoy watching your content!!
There’s over 16 maps in this video
@@eighthave Every map highlights the area he is talking about, and if you need more time to comprehend you can pause the video
These are my favorite videos! More parking lot vlogs! 😅
Heaven forbid they do a non IP based theme
Tinkerbell replace Peter Pan idea and keep frozen and tangled tho be pretty cool I think
I’ll bite: Brickey, what do you WANT to see in there?
Tomorrowland probably wont expand out to the esplanade since they are currently building a new facility right behind it for Cast Members
Pixar hotel side you mentioned
1 Toy Story
2 Encanto
3 Coco
4 Wakanda
5 Avatar
6
what was the 6th one?
Also would love to see a small toy story land by the Pixar hotel and then you could have Pixar meet and greets in front of hotel inside hotel they could use the hotel for backstage change area breaks whatever and you could move astroblasters and redesign to more modern shooters and upgrade with some lightyear scenes
Disney side needs a Splash Mtn, imho
Goofys sky school area would be replaced by Ratatouille is my guess
