  • With my husband Gustavo we continue traveling this side of the map to share it with you and we arrived at Montenegro, a small Balkan country that has beautiful natural attractions.
We are in Bar, a coastal town in the south of Montenegro, on the shores of the Adriatic Sea. It is the capital of the municipality of Bar and the second largest city in the country reminiscent of a more glorious past.
Traveling is hyperliving and we will continue to show this side of the map. We hope you like my participation in the channel, I am learning better Spanish to be able to participate in the next videos.
Dace's voice incorporated into this video series was a promise we had made to the community. Montenegro is a good place for you to start getting involved.
Montenegro has been an independent country since 2006. Before that, it was part of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and today, even with its particularities, it remains a region that proudly inherits the legacy of those years.
Bar has a rich history dating back to ancient times. The city was founded by the Greeks in the 4th century BC. C. and has been ruled by a variety of powers over the centuries, including the republics of Venice and Ragusa.
But what in our opinion makes this city most interesting is that of the entire Adriatic coast that we have traveled, it is the one that makes us feel most like we are in Eastern Europe. It is less global, more authentic. Today Bar is an important commercial and transportation center. The city is a major port and is connected to the rest of Europe by road, rail and air. You can get here by train directly from Belgrade or Podgorica
Bar has many beautiful beaches although the pebble beats the sand in this place, unlike other Montenegrin beaches, but next to the beach, the coastal promenade is a real feast for the eyes.
If you are planning a trip to Bar, here are some things to keep in mind: As on the rest of the Adriatic coasts, the best time to visit Bar is during spring or autumn, when the weather is mild and the Crowds are smaller.
Bar is an affordable destination to travel to, even here we found lower prices than in Kotor, Budva and Petrovac, the other beaches we visited in this country. You can find accommodation, food and activities at more than convenient prices.
Here are some activities you can enjoy in Bar: The city center of the Yugoslav era, with concrete Oedipals of notable designs. The old town is a labyrinth of narrow, winding streets, lined with stone houses and historic buildings.
The beaches of Bar are not the most beautiful on the Adriatic coast, but they are a good place to go for a swim or sunbathe and the nightlife of Bar has the particularity that you will spend more time with locals than with tourists.
Bar has a particular atmosphere that makes it different from the rest of the Montenegrin beaches. With its rich history, natural beauty and lively nightlife, it's a place you'll surely want to return to.
