Agreed
People don't understand the amount of hard work and time this man is putting into our entertainment, thanks bro. I just found your channel yesterday with ypur newest video recommended to me out of the blue. Also, one part of this video brought back some vivid memories of my ex girlfriend, any guesses? lol
Hey man, thanks so much for checking out the videos and yeah they definitely take a lot of time and effort to make that's for sure. Greatly appreciate you leaving a comment. And my guess would be you took your ex-girlfriend out and the boat broke down or ran like junk?
@@NoNonsenseKnowHow I'm actually binge watching you now bro. I literally found ypur channel in recommendations. I watched the new jet boat obviously, then the trashliner series, now I'm on part three of the air boat. Definitely going to subscribe now. The amount of work ypur putting into these videos is insane. I will definitely share with my buddies. I love doing the same kind of stuff, from helping little animals to cleaning up fishing spots and rebuilding old stuff to enjoy. The thing that reminded me of my ex girlfriend was when you were draining the water put of the drain hole ........lmao, sorry for the mental picture...haha.
Thanks again for all your hard work and dedication.
I just found his videos, he reminds me so much of my cousin, then I found out he’s a couple towns away from where my family is from .

OMC Cobra.... OMC dumped an absolutely insane amount of R&D into that outdrive, gimble housing, tilt trim and the shift interrupt, they almost lived, they got the contract with Bayliner but didn't make enough in other sales to stay afloat, they were holding on by a thread for years and finely sold out to Volvo / Penta and that very outdrive is an incredible success, renamed the SX. Anyway, to say that parts for that outdrive are discontinued is a bit of an over statement, in tact and ready for service, it will easily fetch 1500 dollars. the 4 banger is an Iron Duke, they still use those in boats, forklifts, generators and cars, they are inexpensive long lasting little engines with a decent amount of torque. The boat was a POS the day it was made, everything about it is the cheapest available. Surprisingly enough this had the benefit of lightening up the hull by a about 30% of it's leading competitors .... God, i'm so ashamed that i know so much about these boats
We Called them Baysinker around here lol. Buddy had one with a Force Outboard and the first time I went out with him it blew the head gasket. Went thru the engine for him and the engine ran good for years even with a dead choke solenoid would fire up everytime for years
BIL had one and it ran for years with normal maintenance. If I could find one now I'd buy one in a minute.
all your knowledge about this wonderful piece of craftmanship makes for a great comment though lol
You deserve every follower you have Chris! I like watching your videos a lot, thank you for working hard to make them
Good video. There is something so satisfying about putting a new, clean sets of wheels and tires on an old trailer. Gives me motivation to get back to work on the broken boat that I shouldn’t have brought home either. Haha.
Love the boat videos. Amazing stuff to watch!
Cuteness over load with the squirrel, he’s lovely.
He really is! I hope he sticks around and continues being a little garage helper squirrel
I admire you're not afraid of some hard work. It's becoming more and more rare nowadays. Got my respect for sure bud!
Thanks man.
Stole the words right out my head
Yeah but is it worth it I mean this boat even fixed up can't be worth what you will have to put into it to get it running.
Chris that there is a true statement.
@@DanielJones-nv3my Thanks 🍻
Good stuff. I have the same engine and it's nice to see it opened up.
I don't know if he got the 50,000 views in the first seven days he said were needed to make him spend money on the boat to make it run or not. But he sure surpassed that mark now!! LOL. As of a little less than a year later it's at 776,805 views!!! Right on NNKH!! You're Awesome!
Yeah pretty crazy how many views this ended up getting.
If we keep it, what shall we name her? The Trashliner? Lol
Treeliner 5000
Obviously
Trashy McTrash Boat
Bottom of the Bay
Your like the New England version of a bush mechanic. It’s a term for the gnarly northern Australian people who do anything to fix a vehicle. Makes for very entertaining content!
This squirrel is so nice. I didn’t think you could pet one. This is fresh.
I love this content ❤ I'm really excited to see more videos just like this! 😃 Subbed!!!
these are my favorite types of videos! good stuff man
Sweet! And thanks
Regretting bringing home "junk" cracked me up.
Sometimes I'm like..."why do I do this to myself"
Lol, yeah this thing's an ugly sight in the backyard.
hihi squirrel steals the show so cute
Very good work on the “trash liner
I like the squirrel hanging out while you work..
That is the good thing when you are a bad ass mechanic. People and insurances company throw things up because they don't want to deal with them and you can come, fix them, keep them and re-sale it ..
Great job .
Absolutely loving your content also learning alot
Awesome to hear that and thanks so much for tuning in
Good work man , i am extremely motivated
Master!Much greting from Serbia!
Yeaay LeO!! shout out from Scandinavia
Gotta love those 2.2 engines! I have one in my 3/4 NASCAR
Love project s like this 💯 👌
OMG i wish we had squirrels here in Australia .... i so love them
Leo is looking healthy!!! That boat not so much but hey for free you really can’t go wrong regardless of what you do with it. Thanks for sharing. Would be cool to see if it would actually fire👍🏻
Yeah he's been packing some weight on for winter! I hope he makes it through the cold season. And no problem, thanks for checking it out. Probably end up doing a part two to see if it will run. Going to be a smoky mess I'm sure if it does
Nice job Chris!
Thanks mad Murdock
Thanks for getting it out of our yard!!!
No problem! Good luck with the house sale
I like it. Thanks for this clip!
So happy to see a new video come up! I love your videos dude! I just bought a box of cookies from Wawa so I know what I’m doing later!
Lol. Hell yeah, sounds like a good time. I greatly appreciate the support. Thank you.
I’d yank the engine and out drive , steering cable and wheel and switches and cut the boat up but keep the trailer also ! Basically strip it so another boat may live ! Haha 😂
The hull looks good , the iron duke will never wear out . Just the glass on that thing is 300 to500 bucks . I would strip it down and build the interior .
Looks like a 3510 starter. You can probably get one at a junkyard for $15.00. You might even have one laying around. Came on tons of GM products from the late '60s to the late '80s.
I was gonna say it looked like a BBC starter.
Dude! I’m impressed!! You are not afraid of a challenge.
I wouldn't say that. Nothing to lose, tinking around with this old junker. You're the guy taking on big challenges working on high-end stuff! Incredible work you do
@@NoNonsenseKnowHow thanks man! Sometimes I think I’m just a glutton for punishment.
You certainly are!
Yesss another boat restoration
Lol
The first 6 minutes or so were pretty satisfying.
Thanks for the feedback.

We need to see it try to start
You near Washington state. You can have mine. 72 I think Chrysler crown sport try hull p.o.s. 2000 mercury 150. Oh wait P.A. Oh geez
thanks for teaching us mecanic
I bought an 88 bayliner Capri that needs a new exhaust manifold and manifold elbow riser cause there’s a water leaks where the gaskets are between the two. Looking forward to getting her back up to par though, 120hpf on the water would be great this upcoming summer🤙🏾
Heck yeah man sounds like a plan
OMG that’s my boat! I was out of the country and thought it was stolen! I never had it registered in my name so they couldn’t locate it
no way, was it really? Was it registered to someone else or you don't need a name for a boat trailer/boat in PA?
All that's left of that boat is the hull, engine and some of the instruments may be okay. The wood inside the transom may even be rotted out and need to be dug out from the inside, then re-glassed. All the flooring and other interior structures have to built from scratch. Huge job. I rebuilt a 17' Sunbird, another OMC boat. Not as far gone as that one, but it had stuff growing out of the carpet also. I was lucky it had an outboard, in good shape on mine. But that inline 4 may be okay also if it will run.
100% we want to see you do the impossible. Dam right I want a part 2.
You’ll get it! You always do.
LEO IS KING !!
Fun video!
You should do a video on what to look for on a jet ski
It just amazes me how you beat the crap out of your Toyota and it just keeps on tickin'.
New driver .
Lol dang near took out that stump
For a rust locked engine, or one that has rust in a cylinder, before trying to start it, put some white vinegar in the cylinders, let it sit for 30-45 minutes and usually will unfreeze and as the vinegar dissolves the rust, helps free rust stuck piston rings, and gets a lot of the rust out of the cylinders, gives your rings a better chance after an oil/fuel mix startup.
try it, use an engine you thought was so rust stuck it would need disassembly to repair, then you can really see how well it works. might leave it in that type of stuck engine an hour or 2, even overnight.
Great tip for sure. I use vinegar to clean gas tanks a lot. This one wasn't locked up too hard though
Oh man....that Kawasaki! Sweet 😋
You're lucky those cables didn't come back into the windshield when it broke off trying to get this boat out. Wow
There wasn't a lot of line out. That's more a problem when you have many feet of line out. Plus I had my head down beneath the dash when I reversed
The boat that thought it was a submarine!
Fun to watch
I have built boats for 14 years between several companies: Seminole Marine (Sailfish and Southwind boats) Edgewater Power Boats, Brunswick (Sea Ray line) and everglades. I would love to find some of these freebies you have or at least one to restore. Kudos to your efforts and work.
You anywhere near Pennsylvania? I would gift this boat to you if you had plans to restore it. I mean I really don't think an old bay liner like this is worth the effort. Probably worth it to get something way more unique.
Sadly no I am in central Florida. Lived in Hershey for 2 years but back home where no snow is a go.
We need more of Leo
Tá aí um canal que assisto mesmo sem fala inglês mas te distrai do começo ao fim se vira corre atrás ,essa veio da enchente, restauro raiz .
Sweet!! I see the baby squirrels growing up pretty big! Love you channel dude you're pretty awesome!
Yeah man he's doing great! And thanks
Leo is living the life! Great job with the video. We can't wait for your next one!
Yeah he is! And thanks. I appreciate your support
Look up under the manifolds for a crack in the side of the block before going any further. That's where those motors cracked when they froze with with water in them
kinetic ropes are the bees knees lol saved me many times
Very cool 👍🏻
Beautiful to see a Kwaka LTD sitting there in your garage !!!!!
We had one of these. It was an 1988 or 89. I can't remember. It had the 3.0L 4cyl. Something like 135hp (I think). Ours ran great and we never had a problem with it. But we took care of it and never left it out in the elements. Only thing we hated about it that I can remember is that it was loud as hell. We sold it about 7yrs later and aside from a little UV fading of the dash it looked and ran great.
I say make a u pull it run for a similar starter that will bolt up and video tape it. People will like seeing the junk yard and the search for good parts. It’s kinda like hunting for rusty treasures. Lol. If it runs then strip the interior and sell it as a project. Or it could be called dumpster fire and you keep it for river exploring.
Hoping for part 2
Glad I found this channel. 😬
after seeing your vid I would have let the local council pick it up for disposal. I know Its sounds harsh but that Sir is life.
dude , that's my boat !!!🤣 olny kidding
What did you do? Love it. Been there, done that. Great video.
Yes I'd like to see a part two on the boat.
Awesome
Get the starter!!! You'll then have 2 swamped motors running again. Doooo it!!!
Love the earthquake air ratchet !
Gloves bro, Gloves!
When?
Good work on your “trash liner”. I am in need of aOMC 3.0 carb. Do not matter if it works, 2 jet rodChester. Let me know,
No, I just need the outside linkage.
Just checking back in want to see that 50k!!!!
Go for it
It would have been good to see part2.😊
There's a part two and three on the channel
Ah another boat, the Bayliner2000, probably sitting in the woods with rusted engine since 1982 :D .... Unfortunately this boat cannot be saved, but maybe there is at least a limited edition David Hasselhoff cassette in a tape player somewhere in the cockpit that can be salvaged and sold on eBay. And Leo is already waiting full of curiosity what the next barnfind (or forest treasure) will be. I am jealous of this tame squirrel - it is so cute!
old trailers and boats are fragile, gentle pull will save from extra work. But I guess whatever is left of that boat is in good use.
got mine for $250.00 bucks every one said these are trash ! ;[ I still have it its been 7 years since I got it very easy to maintain I'm very happy with it .
Shes got the FRAM!!!!
Leo is so cute!!!
Yea. Come visit him sometime
Honestly. Walk away when you see OMC the outboard. I do appreciate the effort and Leo
Nice sweep job on the tire change, your mess, you cleaned it up... memba the last vid or so?... have a good one and great content NNKH.
Haha thanks. Yeah if I make a mess around the machine I clean up after myself but I've cleaned that thing before and a couple days later it's covered in wheel weights and crap again. Not worth it.
Hilarious how many people are complaining about the dirty machines in that last video though. Maybe that's what caused it to get so many views. Bunch of haters
@@NoNonsenseKnowHow no hater here, those of us that pay attention see your order and cleanliness in your work , work space and at your home Garagemechanic-hall! Have a good one. And keep it up. Learn a lot from the vids. 👍🏻
Thanks man. I greatly appreciate your support and awesome to hear that you find some useful information in these videos.
Very good at all times and the other one was..
I had this exact same boat. Those motors are nothing but problems. Gas is 2 days old and it doesn't want to run properly. Use it as a reef marker
Nice
Nice! let's see me more!
Wow this gives me hope to get my seadoo boat going that's been sitting for a few years. That thing was really rough lol
Those old Sea-Doos can be pretty problematic when they sit for a long time. I had a Challenger 1800 a while back and after taking apart the engines, they had so much corrosion they were basically junk
@@NoNonsenseKnowHow I'm lucky as it has a rebuilt crate motor that we put in like 5 years ago. Just needs some good tlc and re wrap the seats. Me and my old man had to put a new magneto/stater(?) In it cause it wasn't holding a charge. Buy the past few seasons just haven't had the time. That's why I loved grabbing that jetski as I've been able to have a little fun!
Oh got you, yeah you should be good then!
cool vid mate
Thanks
Bayliner,s make the best flower pots. You can find these everywhere mostly used for garbage cans after they stop running which in most cases is relatively quickly do to owner lack of maintenance after the first season. What I love here in Michigan is the high school graduates that post the trailer for sale but you have to take the boat, which costs about $50 bucks per ton to dispose of. But usually the trailers are in no better condition because the were mass produced, cheap with a short life span especially if you didn't invest in a quality cover to keep the water out. LMAO. I restored a 1987 Chaparral villain ll only because they are still sought after. Cost a lot, broke even, won't do it again because I Hate Hate Hate fiberglass work. And it has to be done right.
I like to see more on the boat
Those starters always failed and the replacement could not get wet in a boat lol!
A Salvage yard starter might do the trick!
Where did you pull the boat from looks like by me. There was a lot of flooding here
The squirrel is the star attraction
