Hey guys. Good to see Josh on the boat again. And what an adventure finding them. You forget how many islands there are round there. My kiwifruit season starting tomwind down now. We've finished night shifts now. I've got about a month of day shifts now.

I have to remember take pictures of the dogs watching the cat. It’s their favorite show when you come on every week. Mocha is getting calmer by the day, the diet change has worked wonders . Unfortunately, though, she does get a bit discombobulated when we change anchorages poor thing.

@@TheCruisingKiwis Yes I agree, Finn has to undergo a period of rest and calm after his fantastic race. If he go too high and too soon, he will deplete his réserves of slow hight glucides, and will not be able to attend the big races of 2024, World Rawing Championship, and the Olympic Games in Paris (I think that he alteady qualified for these competitions isn’t it?). I think he is not enough learned the way to attend international meetings, the things he as to do, and the things not to do. It is Just a beginer at this high level. And what a beginer he is! Several minutes telling us all how well Mocha has calmed down these last few weeks and she dive bombs Courtney within hours of her arrival. I love the irony! 😀 "Which airport now?" is always asked several times here when family flies down to visit, as we are leaving to pick them up. Excellent to see Finn out on the bike slowly building up his strength. His "slowly" is, of course, our "way too quickly." At least he has a beautiful location to bike and walk! Fish delivered at anchorage. That's an entirely different take on the daily milk deliveries we got when in was a kid. But those were two very nice looking ones. I'm not sure about the local pricing, but it would have an excellent buy at my local market.
Poor Courtney didn't know what hit her, but she took the shock well. She and josh were a bit stressed at one stage when we told them of the airport issue but turned out the local ferry ran for and only for the regular flight so all good.

Yes Mocha's a bit fiesty but very lovely too. The fish was great. The cost of living in South East Asia is incredibly reasonable here it makes you wonder why food costs so much in the west.
I had a feral cat show up at my boat once, that only ever had one name. "The Damn Cat." Lost a lot of skin through it's claws. It Nearly went swimming on more than one occasion. However one pusspuss showed up with choc cake. Enough said. Hey guys, that fish looked a lot like our Parore...you know black snapper, seaweed eating fish. What do you reckon?? Hey guys, quick suggestion, try clipping Mocha’s nails. You can do a couple at a time if necessary. Just cut the sharps tips off, will make a world of a difference when she paws at you. It can be nerve racking at first but you and Mocha will get used to it, better to start now. 😊 Edit* Saw someone else suggested this- sometimes the scratching post can make their nails sharper. Mine never used theirs either.
I agree. I have a female cat, , which I found on the stairway, and happened that she become very happy being a calm and comfortable appartement, and very quickly beloved with me. I was use of drinking during the meals (sparkling??) water ( pressurized with carbon dioxide, as for sodas, and is home maid (SodaStream system, I don’t if you know that). It happened when she was sill a baby kitten, that she jump on the table to look at I was eating, that I was opening one of these bottle, and making the characteristic ‘pshiiiiit’ sound of pressurized gaz being released. The kitten, which very close to the bottle, was very scared by the sound, and receiving droplets of cold water. She had a little jump in the air, and quickly went away. That was crazy amusing 😄. Despite that she is 13 y/o now, she still go away when she see me having in the hand one of these bottles or a can of soda, or hear the sound of the gaz released when opening it. Hopefully, she came back, because she always want to be close to me. A real lovely cat 😘. Stay safe, live long and prosper Alain from 🇫🇷
It was good to see Finn up and around but I could not make out what all he was saying......is he still down with Covid? I was amazed the boys weren't on more but then Ivan showed up near the end. I hope your cat wounds are healing ok, there definitely is no dull moment with you all! Take care!

Gotta say I’m not a Cat fan, but we do have a cat, it doesn’t bother me so I don’t bother it, But when we first rescued it, it attacked my wife’s legs, massively aggressive.. i picked it up by the back of it’s neck and open hand smacked it so hard it actually hurt my hand, ever since we have had a perfectly behaved cat.. Wendy had to have a tetanus shot, and a course of antibiotics, (that’s how much damage it did, the bastard actually clawed her and bite her, it wouldn’t release her, it looked like she was attacked with a knife, seriously blood everywhere, that’s how i got him by the back of his neck, imagine if he did that to a child, he would have blinded them). I say Rob & Rach, raise your kitten your own way, but me personally i wouldn’t tolerate any aggression! Imagine worse case scenario, say that gentleman selling you some fish, he had his face at the cats level, if the cat attacked him and he lost an eye? He would own everything you have! Obviously don’t be cruel, just meet any aggression with twice the opposite, give the bugger a healthy fear of hurting humans, i only say this because that cat has a nasty streak…. The other one didn’t, but that one does, stamp it out of him asap! Just my opinion..
Wow Mocha is not so bad. She has calmed down massively with the diet change. She didn't attack Courntey, rather fell on her from above with her claws out to break her fall. I'm happy to say she has not drawn blood since this occasion.

Personally his a different natured cat.. obviously you are ahead of time, so he may be fine now… idk.. but the rescue cat we took in wasn’t a kitten, he is a adult cat, and with his new manners is a very affectionate and spoiled cat.. we aren’t cruel people.. his treated as royal now..

the cat is crazy its sad to say but you need should get her/him spayed for three reasons 1. to bring down her temperament so she stops being aggressive and 2 to stop that aggregation you have to stop it with her bloodline and 3. so you don't get a surprise litter if it's a female cat
Rachael, you need to get a squirt bottle or water gun to discipline her, you will have her look at you as if to say, "How dare you! Arrogant Human!". Then she will start to behave.

Claw trims are a good idea. She has a clawing post but regularly takes to the walls, which I don't like.

Not sure what the fish was but it tasted good.
We encountered a lot of those same jellies in the Berry Islands in the Bahamas.

A water spray bottle directed at the unwanted cat behaviour will result in instant changes 😊
Yes we have a spray bottle to keep her off the table. You only have to show her it now and she backs down.

Yes, Finn is well on the recovery after a week but had probably ridden a bit further than he should have.
