I have a Cannonball album called "Live at the Lighthouse" which is a concert venue in Hermosa Beach, California. Feldman absolutely kills on the whole set. I actually lived in Long Beach for a few years and went to the Lighthouse many times in the early 80's. I wasn't aware of Feldman at that time. He was a fabulous piano player. You had to be good if Miles wanted you in his band, right?
I'm surprised you didn't mention that Victor Feldman's brother was Marty Feldman, the talented comedian and actor who became a star as Igor in Mel Brooks's "Young Frankenstein."
The kind of guy whose name you know, but you can't necessarily place where you know him from. I had forgotten about Seven Steps, probably because Herbie played on the album.
his solo on Steely Dans: Sign in Stranger was outstanding piano

It is so great to know more about Victor Feldman. I've admired him for decades.
He played piano, vibes and drums - all very, very well. Hamp did, too. Feldman was a giant.
By far the greatest jazz musician the UK has ever produced imo

Also Tubby Hayes was a great english bebop player
Tubby Hayes was a world-class musician.
I had no idea he was British! He also played vibes on one of my favourite albums, 1978's _Brother To Brother_ by Gino Vannelli.
He played the Fender Rhodes solo on Steely Dan's "Black Cow".
Yes, Victor- Terry Pollard was very similar on piano and vibes
Brilliant reading of the Wikipedia entry
