Ayn Rand is long-winded and the diatribes in her book go on for pages. But a lot of the socialist liberal whiners in the book are the same people you see today. Former Labor Secretary Robert Reich recently tweeted about Elon Musk: "Tesla forced all workers to take a 10 percent pay cut from mid-April until July. In the same period, Tesla stock skyrocketed and CEO Elon Musk’s net worth quadrupled from $25 billion to over $100 billion. Musk is a modern-day robber baron." Elon Musk would be considered a "prime mover" in Ayn Rand's book, a small group of entrepreneurs pushing society forward, while the vocal critics raise all kinds of hell because they amass enormous wealth while doing so.
Big Ding it seems you’re long-winded, although I agree with you. Should be noted that Tesla employees have stock so even though they took a 10% pay cut they are getting rich as well.
Whenever somebody names an Ayn Rand novel, genuinely, as worthwhile reading that's an instant signal that there's something profoundly wrong with them. Peter Thiel does the same thing except his is "Atlas Shrugged." As for Elon Musk vs Robert Reich, they got some disagreements, so what? Both have been right and both have been wrong before. Musk has done (and is doing) some some inspiring things, but he also has a penchant for volatile and irresponsible public remarks, BTW, we're still waiting for the Fremont plant to "immediately" start relocation to TX. And before you say his employees benefit from owning stock, don't forget their pay is lower than other auto-workers, Tesla factory has a bad safety record, and the employees are strong-armed against forming a union. The rank and file is NOT "getting rich", nor do they expect to,
@Brett This is a great point. Elon Musk is insanely productive. Wealth in his hands will create more public good than in the hands of the government, or anyone else for that matter. He is the exception, though.
This guest really ignited the differences in Lex's viewers. In that sense I applaud Lex's choice to have this particular speaker join him in discussion. This despite my complete disagreement with many of the views held by his guest speaker.

@G Wills Why is that? I enjoy reading books about intelligent men, particularly those with opposing views.
