Nice video! I'm taking a break from digging mine up, about a foot deep. At 75, I don't want to do this again. After pumping I'm going to the plumbing supply house. No more digging!!
Cool. One tip I can offer is using a tarp or large plastic garbage bags to protect the lawn when digging or making a mess. With a little care you can save the sod on top too.
Well I got to say good video and lots of good information So I got a question for you real quick can you tell me what kind of septic tanks you got that holds those lids cuz I'm getting ready to put some in and I need some information on some decent ones with that big opening so if you could please let me know I'd really appreciate it thank you very so kindly
Should have sealed between the black ring and the riser. Seals in gases/odor. Better to measure and get dirt out of the way first. The riser will easy move. Not secure.
While I really appreciate the video and have been really thinking about doing the same to my septic tank I think its really ridiculous what these company's are charging for a plastic riser and lid I need two risers sorry just has to vent a little
I feel ya. I have two as well, but the pro covered the first one since it didn’t need a repair. I was a little short on cash so couldn’t spend the extra $200 for the 2nd setup. Man, I wish I had done it, though. And the pro would have had to drive an hour round trip to get the materials. The markup sucks but I get it. Plus I learned something. But, yeah the cost of the materials was higher than I would have expected.
Good job Sis! I think dad is smiling.
I think he was also yelling at me about standing on top of the death trap.

@@kenf5189 Ask your septic pro what kind (if any) adhesive you should use in your area.

I use a tarp, dig up the grass like sod then replace it at the end.
You rock! Tks for saving me $500! I was quoted $350 for my 2 risers. What a rip, esp after seeing you!
I was just quoted almost $1400 today for one... in NJ Plus we need permits here... insane
Did you get enough dirt to fall in?
You are supposed to put a sealant around the ring and also the riser to prevent excess water intrusion into the tank
At ten inches I don't see that as being much of a problem.

I am sorry, but the septic tank was already here when we bought the Homeplace. Not sure what’s down there.
Did your local plumbing supply have it or did you find a septic tank wholesaler?
Local plumbing supply!

should have sealed between the components also arent the sections supposed to be secured to each other
Where did you get your riser from?
I went to a wastewater product place, but they May not have locations everywhere. Iconix Waterworks www.iconixww.com

@@silverlininghomeplace LOL! I guess I'm just going to have to pay the money
I don't think you could dump more dirt in there if you tried 😂
