Enjoy your RS5. Had my Sepang Blue one now for 6 years. As you mentioned maintenance is key. Keep sharing your journey with this car. I can see these coupes becoming future classics. Their shape is timeless coupled with a fantastic NA v8.
Keep that extended warranty you will needed. I own 1 2015 Rs5 . Parts are hard to find . My case was transmission issues almost 4 months in the shop . No parts for sale to rebuild mine . Bought another transmission from Germany no transmission found in the USA . I love the car but when something goes wrong is hard to get parts and very very expensive for a 2015 car. Overall is a very cool car and very very rare.
I will definitely consider extending it depending on cost. Honestly I have not had any issue sourcing parts, or heard of that concern. The most unusual part that had to be replaced was the full interior sunshade replacement, which the Audi dealer had no problem sourcing under warranty. What mileage did your transmission start having issues at?
Plus 1 here, $6500NZ ($4000usd) for a powersteering pump, practically every engine item requires the subframe to be dropped. Parts are usually 3 weeks ex Germany or 2 weeks ex Singapore, surprising how easy to get them especially considering I live in New Zealand.
What kind of transmission issues did you experienced? I thought those issues were only seen on the 2010-2013. I had mine for 3yrs and did all the fluids right away when I bought it so far so good 🤞
Congratulations, she's gorgeous! I'm considering selling my V6 A5 to get a 2013-2015 RS like this one. I don't think it will lose further value due to the engine and specs, which will become increasingly scarce because of electric cars, at least here in Europe.
great car! i just purchased 1 myself a 2014 RS5 phantom black pearl in june. 41k miles 2 prev owners. so far im loving it. the RS tax seems real for things which sucks but i knew that going into it. thanks for the sticker in head rest idea! love the pop of color. this is my weekend car. im in the northeast, i know its awd but no snow and salt is touching this in my hands lol.
Great video. This has been my realistic dream car for years. Couple years ago there were plenty of them available and quite cheap, now I’m seeing a lot of people starting to talk about these online in the last 6 months, and the values have gone up. It sucks and although I love watching content about these amazing cars, I also low key don’t want more people talking about them 😅 Right now, there is the PERFECT example for sale in my area and it’s the exact spec and modified exactly how I want, but it’s too much of a financial stretch to own it comfortably, even though I could technically. It hurts my soul but I’m hoping it’ll be available in another year or so.
Got my 2013 a year ago. Similar story to yours, wanted one ten years ago, found a 1 owner, local at the Audi dealer where it was sold new, who had just done the 80k miles service, and had every service interval noted since new. As close to new as you're going to get 10+ years on. Always thought this car needed the Black Ops kit (especially on the black car), but mine has the Aluminum and now I think I prefer it.
Yes I always find myself going back and forth about the optics pack selection. Really comes down to the exterior color, but I think I usually prefer the black optics look. I think Sepang blue examples looks fantastic in either spec.
Hi there: usually I don't write comments unless I am compelled. This is one of those cases. This is one of the best RS 5 (or any) reviews I have watched. It flows so naturally, deep understanding of the models, sound assessments of the differences of models and it just goes on. It was a pleasure to listen to it. You should shape a career of this...A few comments about the "overlooked", "underappreciated" nature of Audis and its RS models. This problem is particular to US. In Europe and other parts of the world it's different. Just one example: I was in Munich and I thought the city will be inundated with BMWs and I saw more Audis than BMWs. All 4 German sport cars (versions) have their own particular traits. Audi comes across as the most balanced, most technology, nicer designed and high quality. If you want to spin the rear end go with a BMW... I liked the driver seat logo. I checked around but none seemed so nice as yours. Can you attach the link? Thanks and best wishes on the endeavor.
Fair enough! Keep in mind though that you can find higher mileage examples like mine for under $30k these days. That’s less than a lot of the daily drivers people buy today.
@@theautocommittee Yea, I'm still more in the S5 range. I've seen them mid 20s with less than 50k miles. I've been looking at the S5 sportback. Although, the Kia Stinger GT is strangley in consideration.
@@strudel4441 Sure, but I can't get over how bad they sound in comparison. They're so muted and it takes too much work to get them sounding decent imo.
What a good overview video mate. I have been spying these for a little while. Would love to pick one up. Are they reliable? There is a used 2015 around here with about 127k (km) on the odo for a good price. Direct from my local Audi dealer actually.
Thank you for watching! I get a little worried about examples with 5+ owners, because you introduce too much variance in maintenance for me to be comfortable. I am the third owner of mine. From what I hear, these power trains are pretty reliable, but the warranty peace of mind definitely helps!
Had an rs4 which is essentially the same car as this rs5.. the steering rack broke and let me tell you what a total hell it was to find a replacement part for it (dynamic rack with codeing) They have a very niche reliability and spare parts second hand market, the dealer could not help with anything and did not understand the things i had learnt. It is but a matter of time before something breaks and you start to hate the vehicle. Just a heads up.
Nice car, I have had my 13 for a little over a year and daily drive it.

About time you put this out. Hadn't gotten so much as a picture of it in all these months.
Had to wait for that damn sunshade to get replaced! 😛

I know what you mean! It definitely feels like the RS Audi that no one talks about considering the engine, design, and rarity in America.

Thank you so much for the encouragement!
Can you comment in much detail about how harsh the ride is to drive girls around vs other German sports coupes?
I Believe theirs only about 5 or 6 in Florida. Mine is one of them.
Nice! What color and year is yours?

Perhaps you should have purchased a stinger then.
