I also visited Samlesbury Hall on a school trip and we were told about the "white lady" ghost but our teacher spared us the gory details ha! Such visits definitely made most of us take more interest in history lessons.
One of my ancestors from Salmsbury Hall was accused of being a witch and I think I know why. It was thought to be the mark of a witch which I carry too. Can't say more than that.
