This takes me back to when my mom would buy me “Barbies” from the dollar store when I was a kid. I didn’t know any better though I was just happy to have dolls to play with! I had actual Barbie stuff too I just never caught on to the fact the other ones were fake.
My friends and I used to buy really bad quality dolls at the Swedish version of dollar store and turn them into "guys" by cutting their hair and slicing their breasts of. I also had a mix of real Barbie and Sindy dolls and the fakes ones. It was always a rare treasure to get a real Barbie or Ken doll for me.
Yeah, don't even start without my country, they have a plenty of KO Frozen dolls, I know it obviously came from China but every people saw it they totally buy it without looking the quality and stuffs. They're looking for the cheapest price for the poor quality.
Mattel is getting there gradually. Look at the decline in the quality. Of course not bad as these but still declined. The only exciting stuff is the variety and diversity in the fashionista lines and the inspiring woman collection. I saw some molded top barbie having those starry satin skirts almost similar to the clothes these dolls are wearing.
@@rexbesong2922 I have older knock offs that are almost better then today's Barbies. It's sad how low quality Barbie has gotten. In turn it looks like the knock offs have gotten worse too! 😂
Amanda Kay Howell Sadly, you’re totally correct! There are several knock offs from the early 2000’s that I remember distinctly that are much better quality than many Barbie’s of today.
Oh, what would the doll world be without knock-offs! My mother's first 'Barbie' was a clone back in the early 60s - a Babette. We lived in a very small, very rural town, and for a long time, it was not easy to get genuine Mattel dolls. For years, the owner of the local five and dime (the only store that sold dolls like name-brand dolls like Barbie or Chatty Cathy) had to drive over a hundred miles to purchase Barbies and similar items from suppliers in 'the big city' and bring them back to our town. When I was coming up in the 70s, the situation was a little better, but not by much. The same five and dime store still existed - only, by then, they had managed to get their Mattel dolls directly. (The dolls and clothes, however, were out of date, occasionally as much as five years. Mattel sent us older lines that had not sold elsewhere.) There was also a small drug store called 'U-Save' which carried a few of the cheaper Barbies but mostly clones. Lots and lots of clones. Dawn, Charly, Twistee, and a host of others for which I can't recall the names. The drug store clones, in general, were pretty forgettable. Their hair tended to be inferior to Barbie's; it was of lesser quality - coarse to the touch - and often, it was glued-on like a wig rather than sewn. Quite a few would turn a strange color after a year or two. I had several that turned orange or yellow and went sticky. I never stopped collecting dolls; so, I was still getting Barbies and clones throughout the 80s and 90s, too. I remember someone giving me a Lovely Lindsey set for my birthday one year, but that, I think, came from Sears. I had some clone clothes from Donna, the Glamour Secrets dolls, and a lot of Ms. Flair's fashions. Clone fashions do tend to be variable in quality, but not all have been bad. I never had a Maddie Mod doll, but I do have some of her fashions, and while they may look shocking to the modern eye, they really were decently made and very much of their time. (And they look great on Francie.) The current Sparkle Girlz dolls don't do much for me, but, again, some of their clothes aren't too shabby. The Kari doll is another modern clone for Barbie - she's a product of M&C Toys, who produce the World Peacekeepers (a G.I. Joe clone that's actually nicer than the last batch of Joes Hasbro manufactured). I ended up with a bonus Kari doll because she came with her articulated horse... I wanted the horse, not the doll, but it gave me a chance to inspect her. Her face paint is a bit cartoony, but she has the old twist n' turn Barbie body; so, her clothes, if I wanted to use them, would fit an older Barbie. I've seen clone dolls with matchstick legs like those of... um, 'Bebinda,' 'Belinda,' er... yeah, whatever her name is. Those kinds of dolls usually show up in grocery stores and discount centers in the states around Christmas time.
When MH came out I wanted Draculaura so badly that I got one after a treatment I used to do while I was a kid... The doll was a rip-off lol I played with her for 3 years, she was articulated and I was obsessed with her. Just 4 years after I was able to afford original MH doll's and of course, I realized the dream of having an 1 wave Draculaura ❤️
I would recommend not to touch those dolls and get rid of them! I've seen plenty of official warnings from our Ministry of Health about exactly these types of clone dolls. They often contain a huge amount of phthalate, which is toxic if used excessively. It's scary to think that such dangerous objects are meant for little children.
I laughed so hard when fake Elsa's leg snapped off😂 I remember wanting one the generic doll brands as a kid cuz they were pretty but soon after opening it, I hated the quality. My dad told me they were fake and told me to compare the fake with the genuine ones, so I was kinda able to spot a fake at a young age😂
when I went to Isreal and Jordon, a lot of stalls had these knock off toys and used so many copyrighted images for stores. I think it has to do with not having the same copyright laws. I think companies can rip off without having to pay someone because the original company is in a different country.
those matchstick legs make me feel sad for all the poor children whose parents maybe cannot afford regular barbies. those kids either grow up getting used to this kind of weird stuff or get scarred for life. when i was little i sometimes got ripoff dolls since my parents did not have enough money for real barbies. i remember hating the knockoff ken who was hideous and no doll wanted to make out with him. also, as you mentioned, the clothes were so ill-fitted. well, the result was that i became a barbie collector :D

I actually did a review a couple months ago about these cheap dolls and I do explain the legs and where they came from. So if anybody's interested in checking it out feel free ❤
When I went to a gas station convenience store on my vacation in Spain, they sold these 2 Euro candy assortments (like lollypops and candy necklaces) that came with a bootleg Clawdeen Wolf doll. She is made out of very cheap plastic and her body and limbs are so hollow that you can kind of see through them under light. She also has the bald spot problem (even worse than the dolls in your video), and her outfit is even cheaper. She also has the chop stick legs.
These dolls are good for doll costumising and projects to make ( for artists) because even if you destroy them than you dont have to feel sorry, because the price is also soooooo low
The legs remind me of pictures of people who are starving to death. I remember always being so disappointed in the hair on my knock off dolls. Those bald spots made any kind of styling impossible.
Tambsin m....I hate it when female dolls come with molded or sculpted hair and the worst is when they have bald spots...female dolls and action figures should have long beautiful hair that you can style and change...I also hate when action figures or dolls do not have removable clothes...I hate molded on clothes too.
I've had ripoff barbies as a kid and I could always tell, the quality was always awful and they fell apart so quickly! I'd rather any cheap real barbie than any ripoff at all !!
Whats up with the Stick legs on weird knock off dolls? I work at a dollar store besides studying and i always nearly piss myself when i have to unbox some dolls, they look so horrendous
I'm curious: Did you try any of the doll dresses on the "Belinda" doll? I ask because I once bought a box with 5 "off-brand" doll dresses, and while they looked gorgeous in the box, you couldn't actually get them ON the doll. There was no velcro or elastic - the dresses were all one piece. It was like whoever designed the dresses had designed them to the exact dimensions of the doll, but totally forgot that you have to pull the dress past a doll's hips or shoulders in order to get it on, and the neck- and hemlines were too narrow to accommodate that. It was a total waste of money (only $5, fortunately, but still a waste). I feel bad for any parents who bought that set of dresses for their children, because they would have been so disappointed :-/ As for the Monster High knockoff, certain rubbers and plastics degrade into that sticky stuff you felt. I had a Moroccan Barbie (1998, I believe), and several years after I bought her, her bend-and-snap rubber legs went gooey. (Sadly, it totally ruined her dress.) If the plastic/rubber was poorly made to begin with and/or was stored improperly, I imagine that process doesn't take long at all, so even a "brand new" doll like your knockoff could go bad inside the box. I wouldn't handle her any more than you have to. Anyway, I enjoyed this video, and I enjoy your channel as a whole. Keep up the good work.
OMG I was already giggling when you revealed the first doll’s bald spot but I about sh*t my pants with laughter at @5:18 !!! I can’t breathe. I can’t breathe! LMAO!!! Her legs! OMG my stomach hurts from howling!

If i was a kid, i would actually love to have the "Belinda" doll, because of the dresses 😂😂 to share with my other dolls
My stomach is hurting from laughing so hard!!! Your humor hit the spot:)
Omg the facial expressions and just everything about his fake dolls videos is screaming hilarious! 😂😂😂, your great Ty for the videos 😉👍
Every time I see those kinds of legs in videos I gag, they're horrifying

I had a Belinda that the legs arms and the head fell off and skinny and the dresses had holes

I screamed a little when you said Friar Tuck 😂😂😂 this video was fun! Back in the 90s I had a couple of cheap Mermaid Princess dolls that I liked more than my official Ariels! They had pastel hair and iridescent fins in several different colors 💕
I think I had an aneurysm when you read the freeze II thing 😂
This is the video I never thought I needed but I certainly did 🤣
