Vic, you are a love! Thank you for making this video. I'm happy I read all the comments though. From your video, I was originally 'sold' on this mower but the fact that you had problems with it, no longer recommending it, along with another poster complaining it's not easily serviced, made this a "No". I was originally going to go with an EGO but with a battery-life of two years and then $350-$380 for a replacement makes that a "No-Go" too. I'm still on the hunt for a reasonably priced, electric start, self-propelled gas mower. If anyone has a recommendation, I'm all ears! Again, thank you. I'm sending blessings of Joy and great Happiness your way!
Vic, Excellent review and presentation. This engine is famous for a NO START situation. If you remove the air filter and the 4 screws under it you will see the choke. (Two 8mm and two 7mm) The plastic choke touches the metal bracket and hangs open. A metal nail file will shave the plastic just enough to stop the choke from staying open. This 5 minute fix will save you a lot of hassle later on.
I bought it two days ago. I'm very familiar with lawnmowers since I repair them and when I saw it at Sam's I bought it right away because of the features and the price. I used it today and I loved it. It performed like I knew it would. The only thing I didn't like was the side discharge piece, it falls out too easyly when you hit something. Other than that, it's well made machine and I recommend buying it.
Thanks for the review. Just brought the same one at Sam's Club 2 days ago. I used it once so far. Everything you said pretty much sums up what I thought. The handle design I dislike, I think that's my only negative. Over all I think it's a good mower.
Great Review - the video quality deserves a special mention! I got this delivered by costco yesterday, to my pleasant surprise, they addressed two problems mentioned in this video. The ergonomics on the handle is addressed (problem #1 addressed): it comes with two (bike brake type) hand levers for acceleration and the speed is adjustable when you leave/pull one of the levers. At full acceleration, it speeds likes you are 'brisk walking' (problem #2 addressed) Hope this helps the future buyers.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS WONDERFUL VIDEO. YOU COVERED EVERYTHING!! I WAS LOOKING EVERYWHERE FOR A VIDEO ON THIS MOWER. I ORDERED IT FROM SAMS CLUB. IM HAPPY I FOUND THIS VIDEO FROM YOU. YOU'RE VERY GOOD AT THIS!! THANK YOU !!
Going to get me one. They have them pre assembled for $199 at the local lawn and garden store. Can't beat the price and like the design with all 4 wheels adjusting at once. Need something to make it easier to mow around the fences on my 20 acers and not have to weed eat everything. Hard to get too close to the fence with a big 72 inch zero turn.
Looking to purchase a good self propelled mower for my husband without breaking the bank. I like this video and the fact that it seems pretty easy to put together. And hopefully Sams have them in stock
Well Vic, great video and review. You showed what I wondered about very well. I'm also grateful for the comments that have come since. You both got me interested and I've decided against getting it in the same review, especially when you add in the comments (including your own). You've saved me time and pain. Appreciate it man.
I just bought a yard force battery lawn mower at Costco. They threw in a battery power blower for free. This is an excellent video. Good job. Go Cowboys!
Figured out there is NO problem with getting those “problem” bolts on the lower handle IF you simply raise the cutting height adjustment first... Slides in without a problem.
Thanks for this review! I just bought the same one (mine is all black) at Family Farm and Home on sale for $269 yesterday. It seemed like a really nice machine for the price. I set it up today and tried starting it, and it didn’t start after 3 pulls. Then my mom says, “Are you holding the handle down?” Doh! Handle down and it fired right up. Lol I’m a fast walker, and it keeps up well with my speed.
Thank you for the video. I was able to put it together. I had to call on Jesus a few times but didn’t have to depend on somebody. This is empowering for a single homeowner. God bless you!
Good video. Sam's have them for 299.00 was thinking about buying one. Have two Worx battery powered mowers and they worked great till the batteries started loosing power. Worx discontinued the batteries and the battery when available cost as much as a new mower. I'm switching back to a gas mower!
Been looking at new mowers and I think this is perfect for me, just bought a house with my girl friend and we have other things to spend money on then buying an expensive mower with these features
I bought one at Sam's Club 6+ months ago. Enjoyed using it, the speed don't bother me. Only complaints I have is is clogs up in heavy or damp/wet grass but that's a complaint I have with all new mowers, to solve that problem I'd have to ruin the structural integrity of the frame, instead I just use a bungee cord and hold the mulching cover open and let the grass fly. Another complaint there's no caster wheel kit made for it, there's one I could modify from Amazon Eazymow. Only major complaints I've heard on them is Sam's Club won't honor the warranty, there's really no shop around to service them, major parts like engine and transmission can't be ordered from anywhere not even the company website. A friend in Florida bought one and his niece used it 4 times and the engine begin to leak oil around crankshaft. He took it back to Sam's Club and they said the warranty didn't cover that. They gave him his money back and he bought a different brand somewhere else
Found most of the parts online just not through the company website. Mine has been a wonderful mower. Transaxle is locked not but i found a new one $21.48. outdoor power supply
What a great presentation, and I appreciate the way you gave an indepth overall review of the lawnmower. I just purchased a Yardforce from Walmart and to be honest I am a little skeptical because I purchased a Honda self propelled lawnmower 10 years ago and it held up real good; however, it needs some serious attention, so I chose to buy a new lawnmower for $359.00 plus financing. I bought the big rear wheel 150cc mower to give it a try. Thanks for the unboxing and I will keep you abreast with how things are working out with my new Yardforce self propelled lawnmower. Again, thanks for a first class lawnmower review.
Thanks man I've decided not to get this particular one based on your review. Too slow and the handle is a deal breaker for me, because I tried one like that before and didn't like it. They do have a newer model with variable speed without that handle that I will give it a shot.
What weight of oil did that come with? Mine came with straight 30. But some videios say it comes with 10-30. Was hoping to see the bottle label. Its been a yr since the the video- I understand of you don't remember. And how is the mower now? I bought one at Sams for $249 last week, I've cut maybe 40 yards with it. I mow rent houses.
I don’t recall what weight oil came with it, but it’s a Briggs & Stratton engine. Any store that sells mowers has that brand of mower oil. My initial mower sat for a year and didn’t start. Got another one and it’s running fine.
Great Vid! I'm seeing it just now (9/14/21) and read some of the 1yr responses you have given. I'm a little disappointed but I got I kinda cheap @ $75, cleaned the carburetor and we'll see how it goes...🤷🏾♂️.
It's advertised as 22", that's the deck not the cut. The blade is only 21" , requires a-lot of overlapping & only available from the main distributor for about $35. I have owned one 13 months. Over the weekend, after mowing 3/4 of my lawn the drive cable apparently pulled out of the under-the-deck end. Pushing this thing thru high Florida grass is a workout. I bought it at Sam's club (who apparently thinks it will last forever) but they know of no repair places locally. I called the manufacturer's customer service line & had to leave a message. They returned my call but before finding out about a local repair shop, I must receive a service authorization (ala return authorization) by providing all purchase info 1st. I'll update my adventure as to the outcome on this link.
I saw another review critical of the self propelled drive mechanism having a high wear factor due to being under the deck & that the catch bag allowed debris to be blown back at the operator. Dallas, do you feel that the mower lacks in those areas? I just bought my YF22" today 7/27/20 & mowed only my front yard.
My mower is going that fast I can't handle it. Do you know how to turn the power down ?? Hope you can help. I bought it 6 weeks ago but only used once, nearly broke my wrist. Thanks
@Vic’s Venerated Vlogs Thanks Vic, I don't really know what to do now. It's just cost me £499. I can't send it back. The box got cut up, taking it out, and I only used it once and scaped the wheels against the wall. Thanks for replying .
@Vic’s Venerated Vlogs I would really wish I could, I bought that type of lawn mower because I've got a disability. If I could afford a gardener, I would . I would end up landing on my face or bottom LOL
@@geraldoburgos3336 the mower would not start after a few weeks and climate controlled storage. Only mowed with it two to three times before this happened.
Junk! I bought my YF from Sam’s also. The self propelled went out after a year . I took it to one of the companies that honored YF warranties. They never fixed the mower. It was returned back to me, in the same condition. I called YF customer service again, and they never returned my call. I am a woman, I loved to have that self- propelled mechanism in a mower. The one I bought from Sams club would not start after the third cut, I checked the fuel supply and spark, reset the magneto and after 9 pulls it started, I cut nearly my whole yard which takes about an hour and with 3 swipes left it cut out, let it sit over night and started on the first pull, may be a heat issue, Well it wasn’t a heat issue but a fuel issues carb is junk, took the carb off and after pulling hex plug from bottom of carb I could see internal parts, all plastic, shook carb and re installed, mower would not start, tapped the carb 15 times, mower started and was able to mow in tire yard without stalling, This mower is junk, spend the extra $100 on a mower that will last you 20; years
I was good at the beginning, but I wouldn’t recommend. I had to return the first one because it wouldn’t start. The new one cuts, but it’s starting to make noises like it’s not getting fuel or it’s running without oil.
The manufacturer and Sam's club don't honor the warranty. Only problems I've had with mine is chute clogging so I don't use it anymore and just prop mulch cover open. The carb after 3 yrs had to be replaced

I just sold my yardforce yf22 after 4 years for 200 bucks when I paid 250. It was still running as good as the day I bought it. I just bought the newer model. It's a 150cc vs 163cc but can store vertically with a modified handlebar to allow that. I didn't really notice a difference in power but love that it's vertical which is primarily why I was considering going battery (and glad I didn't). I understand the argument to buy a toro for parts and longevity but I don't think we bought a 250 dollar mower to make it last 15 years. We bought it because it was cheap, easy and works with a reasonably long life. Some of us don't care to have our mowers repaired...what would be the cost to do even a tune up on one of these? Half the price to buy a new one?
