Maybe WatchMojo should do a little research, instead of disrespecting an artist. Just for the record, Huey Lewis has gone deaf, due to a genetic disease. But he has recently penned a musical (based on his own catalogue), so yes he's still making music.
They also didn't research the fact that the Hilary and Haylie Duff cover of "Our Lips Are Sealed" was for their movie "Material Girls" not for Hilary's movie, "A Cinderella Story" lol.
I stopped after #19. "Yah Mo B There" features two legendary vocalists, who combine for a flawless harmony. Then, there's the positive message that remains hopeful and inspiring to this day.
These compilations are getting worse with each list. You really couldn't find a worse duet than Michael McDonald and James Ingram's "Yah Mo B There? Really? I think it's a great duet.
@@Markus-c3n Don't you get it? It's the cheesy "eightiesness" as you so kindly put it that makes it such a good song. While it's upbeat and optimistic like a lot of stuff in that era, Ingram and McDonald's velvety vocals set the track apart and give it that timeless quality. That's my take anyway. If it's not for you, it's not for you. 🤷🏿♂️
The one i really dont get being on here is Yah Mo B There. If you cant tell their voices apart you need a hearing test. And i think its a pretty decent track overall.
@erikdaniels0n this video unlocked the memory of that song and then didn't feature it, so I had to go listen to it immediately to feel the awkwardness I feel I missed out on.
"Yah Mo Be There" is a classic that had an unfortunate unrelated crappily made video which made it hard to watch, therefore sales based on the music video were poor, in a time that music videos could make or break the bank, it was sad it got a poor release dur to this. Radio did much better obviously. But, James Ingram and Michael McDonalds vocals both shine. The music is uplifting and makes you feel good. I think its blasphemous you put it on the list of most terrible duets. I can thing of many more duets in general that deserve it...
I couldn't believe they actually put this on the list as one of the 20 worst? I could find hundreds of terrible duets, but this is actually a great song!
Seems like they made the list just to cause some controversy. Actually many of the songs here while not exactly memorable weren't really that bad as they make them out to be either. IMO
Cruisin' was a good song...the first 20 times I heard it...every.single.day. It's rare when I get sick of a song, but Cruisin' was played so often day after day that I still cringe when I hear it. That said, that's the only problem I have with it. And Ya Mo B There just should have never been brought up.
I don't think Whazupwitu was a bad song as I think it's cool to see two of the most iconic entertainers of the 80s, Michael Jackson and Eddie Murphy doing a song together. I just wish they did a buddy comedy together.
Yah Mo B there shouldn't be on this list lol, that song is first of all hilarious and... actually great. "Similar" voices? No one has the velvety smooth voice of Michael McDonald lol
Somehow, I never considered Whatzupwitu bad. Michael Jackson can make anything phenomenal despite cheap backgrounds and not so original lyrics that I can tell he didn't write them and simply doing what he was paid for.
I loved the Duff sisters' cover of "Our Lips are Sealed", when I was younger, but I agree that it doesn't hold a candle to the original Go Gos classic.
Our Lips are Sealed and Hilary Duff’s cover of My Generation by the Who sounds like something you would hear on a Disney Channel or Nickelodeon show. The Go Gos’ version is incredible and catchy.
Please also check out the Fun Boy Three version as the song was co-written by both Jane Wiedlin of the Go-Go's & Terry Hall of the Specials & Fun Boy Three. Both of them versions are great. The Duff sisters' one, nah thanks 🤣
This one is actually one that fits with the audience of the movie and while it's not NEARLY as good as the original, other songs on this list should have ranked higher than this one.
I loved Yah Mo B There and still do. And I love Whazzupwitchu. And the remake of Cruisin' really isnt that bad. Don't think I've heard the others and really don't want to hear the Brad Paisley/LL collaboration. Sounds like it might be awful.
"Who You Love" is one of those songs that you sit down and hold onto your loved one while listening. I never saw it as a song that is meant to get people up and moving. Also, the Eddie Murphy and MJ duet, i can't find my middle finger emoji for speaking badly about that despite some level of it being cheesy.
That's part of the problem. It wasn't supposed to be 'goofy'. It was meant to have a serious message and it came off childish, nonsensical, and (your words) goofy! That makes it a bad song
"Whatzupwitu" (Michael Jackson & Eddie Murphy) and "Yah Mo B There" (James Ingram & Michael McDonald) do *not* belong on this list at all! Whiff and a miss on this one, WatchMojo!
Ya Mo Be There doesn't belong on this list. YMBT was a jam and is still one of my favorite duets. I never heard of most of the duets mentioned in this list.

If you cant tell James Ingram from Michael Mcdonald you need your ears checked.
IKR? How in the hell can you NOT tell the apart? And I love this song!
FACTS
Why was this track on with this list in the first place?!
Y'all wrong on this one
It was 🔥 then and still is.
🙏 James Ingram
@@xxEnygma312xxI agree. The song was a hit by 2 heavyweights. The song title was a bit silly, but the song itself was great.
That's a good song
“Yah Mo be there” should not be on this list
I know. That's a great song.
I couldnt take this list seriously after that
EXACTLY!
It gave them both a Grammy award.
I IMMEDIATELY came here to say this!
100% !!! Yacht Rock staple, quiet storm staple, all around EXCELLENT SONG AND I WONT STAND FOR SLANDER 📢
Michael mcDonald and James Ingram???? WTF??? THIS LIST IS TRASH !!!!!
I agree! What idiot thought this should be on the list?
Ya Mo B There definitely does not deserve a spot on this list. That song is old school r&b banger that’s still in heavy rotation.
Come on now when we saw Whazupwitu we already knew this was some bs 😂
Right!!
Love this song and i’m swedish

I agree! That's a good duet!
Blasphemy! Yah Mo B There was one of the smoothest '80s collabs of all time - right up there with Easy Lover by The Two Phils (Collins & Bailey).
I like that one too!
EVERYONE liked it l. It was a hit. Including it in this video was ridiculous.
Much tooooo cheezy! It's typical awful eightiesness everyone with a cool brain wants to forget about.

hates 80s music 😂
The duets are better than some of the music they have now.
Easier lover and Ya mo b was good.
Accidental Racist sounds like an SNL parody song 😂
how was it not? it has everything an SNL song has
Oh my god really though
Eddie and Michael was a wild combination but its more strange than bad
Yah Mo be there is a fabulous song with Michael and James working well off each other. It doesn't deserve to be on this list.
Exactly!!!
Craziness
Totally agree.

That Miley Cyrus one was just disgusting to watch...

@JaiB-xr9fl i had to get tested for STDs after seeing it
Was trying to mentally delete it until I came across your comment.
Agree just disgusting 🤢🤢
Yah Mo Be There is a bop, what are you all talking about?!?!
How that song by Steven Segal (yes, THAT Steven Segal) featuring Lady Saw about how he wants "poonani" is not on this list is beyond me.

Ya Mo B There is actually a classic in gospel circles. Every few years I hear a gospel choir singing a version of it.

Agreed, they would have been the perfect casting for a polar opposite buddy comedy. Shame that they made a song instead of that movie.
I concur....

I wonder if this song will be featured in the Michael Jackson biopic soundtrack, which I doubt they will, but it will make for a hilarious story.

Just because Mariah and Minaj had a fight after doesnt mean that Up Out My Face is not a great duet cause it is, drama aside! So boo Mojo! 😂😂😂😂
Thank you!
I wouldn’t say it was great but it doesn’t belong on this list you’re right they just added it bc they had beef
Whazupwitu was a lowkey bop. I will forever stand by that.

Cruisin isn’t that bad.
I love the song, Paltrow and Lewis slayed it. It wasn't cringey at all.
