Man alive... as someone who is new to the mandolin and therefore the octave mandolin, this is a treat. The fact that this gentleman is local to me - or used to be, anyway - and that I've gotten to enjoy his music live makes this even more precious. We don't know each other, so I'm not just showering a friend with love. We've never met. Also, how perfect is that art on the wall when you listen to Joe Walsh's music? :)
That's a very pretty tune... really demonstrates the voice of the octave mandolin nicely. I think I've decided which instrument I want to learn to play on.
The man who helped put mando back on the map. So coordinated, and with a metronome in his head, to boot. Thank you for posting this treat.
Love this Frisell tune and love your interpretation of it. I have an Octave here with nothing to do. Time to learn it! Thanks Joe K.
I would love to hear more of your octave mandolin playing
Frisell is such a treasure, nice pickin'
