  • Necklace displays--B'sue steps back from jewelry making to talk about some new ways to show off your jewelry designs. Don't throw those old velvet cardboard displays out....refurbish, recover, make them suit your line....even use them as packaging. Shown: how she does it, what she uses, the glue to use, how to seal, what worked best in her experiments and what might have been done to better effect. These displays in this video will work well at shows and in shops, mall booths. For photography, you might want to go with lighter colors, monochrome, less color. Please visit us soon at www.bsueboutiqu... for mixed media materials, tissue paper for decoupage, glues, Mod Podge....and everything you need to make amazing jewelry like brass stampings, beads, charms and chain. We carry only US made and finished brass filigree and stampings. Thanks for watching! Check out our many free instructional videos at You Tube for new ideas with metal, filigree, patinas and mixed media products. #BSue_Boutiques

Oh Sue- While a bit different, this new video is just the cat's pajamas!! Love, love the idea. Love your new shop, you are a lucky lady to have this dream come true! Well you know, GOOD things happen to GOOD people! We always enjoy your ideas and helpful suggestions!

It’s 2021... THANK YOU SOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH! I love you for this! I can’t stand the black velvet...I bought it because there was this idea that it was the best. Most of my stuff looks TERRIBLE on black; it washes the sparkle and detail right out! And even if they looked okay, lint brushes can’t get all that fuzz. I will be doing bland solids for my Etsy stuff, and have some bling trim that should go well without interrupting the line of sight.

Thank you for this! I almost threw away 8 brand new solid white velvet necklace stands because it clashed with my aesthetic. These are beautiful idea starters

You are like a mind reader. I have been scouring the internet today looking for DIY jewelry display ideas for my shows! Thank you!! Those plain velvet displays I have just don't match my aesthetic. These will be great for my gypsy/bohemian style!
I agree...probably not good for photography for the Etsy shop but fabulous for shows! I can't wait to get started!
    BTW...I am GypsyWhims on Etsy.

Wow, I have a ton of these old ones in my closet that I haven't been willing to toss out. You saved me so much money. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I can hardly wait to get home tonight and start this project. You are fantastic lady! Love the new shop look. Wish I lived close by.

YOU are so awesome!!! I've got 5 of those black velvet type displays, and I never use them, cause I don't use black as a background for my etsy shop listings. I use white...and now that you have shared your amazing idea for mod podging them, I'm gonna try it! Going to look for lighter shades of scrapbook paper and go for it. Who knows, this could turn into a whole new look for my shop! Thank you SO much for sharing this. I just love your videos! Your shop is looking fabulous too! :)

Love them. The ones I did a year ago I used material with the mod podge. I love how they turned out, but I didn't decorate them. Now I'm going to add a bit of decoration like you have done. These are awesome.

I am going to use this idea...I have 3 shows commin up and have to think up some attractive displays for my steampunk jewelry...black looks good, but kind for dull for the jewelry..

I'm so happy for you! The new shop is beautiful. Thank you so much for this tutorial; I hate those black velvet things, and now I have a fresh new way to present my jewelry!
Thanks so much for all your hard work and great ideas.

Great idea!! And if you have a paper you love but think it might be too busy for displaying jewelry, just mix a little acrylic craft paint into the ModPodge for the second layer. Just enough paint for a light wash - you can always add more layers if it's still too busy.

Very nice. But! A busy background will be distracting and ultimately detract from the jewelry piece. Really, the whole purpose of the display is to show the jewelry piece to its best advantage to the potential customer.

What a great Idea! I like the earring display a lot and I like the necklace displays too, although they are a little busy, it might work well if you add some plain oval shape paper to the center in a cream color or a color that accents the necklace. Thank you for sharing. I really enjoy your tutorials.❤*✿⊱╮
