    I actually love this so much I bought a back up! Do you know if it will run and” Eventide 12 volt pedal?

    Love your vids! I tend to find a setting and leave it. I use a plastic cutting board I got at Canadian Tire for 8 bucks, I put velcro on it and use a one-spot. I liked it so much, I cut one in half for a smaller board. Light and easy to pack.

    Let's say the power button is off and you plug in the adapter to the pedalboard, it will still send a short electrical signal to the pedals making a pouf sound in the PA if you have a signal going to the board while pluging in the pedal board (even if the on/off button is off) so beware, if you are going to use the board plugged in, do it before sending a signal to the PA!!...

      Yo! Can you comment anymore on your experience with this? I really want to go wireless I’m looking at a couple battery packs to stick to the bottom of my current pedalboard but this looks pretty rad….. I have a simple set up I’m just running a couple pedals, tuner, drive, wah, envelope filter

    Anyone have issues with noise using this board? I just atarted populating mine and I'm getting a hiss and hearing the tremelo oscillations when its not on.

    @ JayLeonarJ cool demo man! I’ve owned the larger outlaw self contained pedalboard since last year and this thing is also! No complaints on giggin in the city and rehearsals. It’s a sturdy board. It was nice to see someone using one these. I thought I was the only one.

    Wow! Incredible board! Why wasn’t this thought of sooner?!?! Currently I’m using a board built custom for me. It will be my last board is ever need because it’s a huge board. 35x18 and looks amazing. But the power is still a wall wart daisey chained but no real noticeable noise at home. But I do play in one of those “old churches” and my neunaber immerse occasionally picks up a radio station. (Perfect time for the congregation to catch the scores for Sunday football right at the end of a song)

    Would appreciate any thoughts, is this pedalboard 100% reliable? I can’t have any power failures live as I play in huge venues and need something reliable. This board happens to fit in my new pelican air carry on size case.... so I’m very inclined to purchasing this but also skeptical about its reliability. Thanks!

    Hey man thanks for the cool review! Question: what happens when the lithium battery dies after a couple of years? Does it look like the battery will be replaceable or do you have to throw out the whole board? Thanks again!

    • @BradfordGuy
      @BradfordGuy 5 років тому +2

      The lithium battery can be replaced and even upgraded to a higher mAh capacity if needed. The bigger battery might not be a direct replacement though and _might need some small but easy mods_ to make the installation. Lithium-Ion batteries last a very long time in relation to the older NiCad batteries that developed memory and would eventually not release their stored energy, becoming useless. Lithium-Ion does not build memory and can last for years without a noticeable loss of efficiency! The direct answer is that this pedalboard is not a throw-away but a keeper!

    HUM!!...check the manual because it says that you can use it plugged in if the battery is low!!...if the charge is full and you use it plugged in it could crash down on you!!...also, when the charge is low and you plug it in to play, it will start charging but will be a bit noisy!!...so, not yet a perfect solution!!...also, I heard that it will be discontinued soon!!...

    I just use a OSP ATA grade pedalboard I bought used from Reverb with power supply made for me by my buddy who's an electrician. He made it in a way that it perfectly fits inside the doghouse of the pedalboard. It works like a charm.
    As of this rechargeable pedalboard I've to say that it's indeed a nifty pedalboard. I feel it's something every musician had in the back of their mind but no one was sure that such a pedalboard can be made for real. But positioning of the power outlets does make it feel a bit messy. Nevertheless I would say it's worth the price.
    Anyway, have you tried the Orpheum Fuzz by Basic Audio, it's essentially the clone of the 60's Orpheum Fuzz. I plan to buy it but not sure if it's worth the price.

    Question: why is it better to power delay from a higher milliamp? Does that go for ALL time based effects?

    • @sam127001
      @sam127001 5 років тому

      many digital effects ( most delays are digital) draw more current and need to be plugged into an outlet that can supply it.

      Not on this one. So I would be careful with picky pedals like fuzzes and certain digital effects

  • @krimsonlediable

    Dude, so Nomad is BoxKing?! Those boards are OK’ish, but do not power any digital pedal from it, as it will hum. The outputs are not isolated and they will break, because they are on the outside of the board. The bag is good, but the rest could be dramatically improved. No offence, just speaking from experience.

      Krimson Le Diable I busk frequently and only learned of these this morning...My pedals are mostly digital and your comments are the first I'm reading warning against digital pedal use...Can you go into more detail about your criticisms please? How loud is the hum? More so than a traditional board? Would you recommend anything be constructed differently in a 2.0 model? Thanks in advance!

      Davide Grody ,
      Thanks for getting back to me.
      I worked with BoXKing, the OEM of Outlaw and they send me a couple of products, because I did some testing and translation work for them. They are a great company, but their products need to be more developed. This is my conclusion after doing some extensive tests:
      Guitar>M5>OCD>H9>amp.
      As soon as I switched the power on, I immediately noticed that high pitched sound, that you hear, when high current digital pedals are under powered. Meaning, they don’t get enough current or are receiving non isolated power.
      Conclusion:
      This product is unable to give you clean power with a high current digital pedal combined with an analog one.
      However, it can give you clean power with only one digital or several analog pedals.
      Side note:
      The power outlet sockets are scratchy and can cause sound problems as well.
      The main difference between your product and using a separate pedalboard with a Pedaltrain Volto is, that it gives you more mA and and additional 12 and 18 or 24volt outlet and a reset button.
      My advise:
      I would suggest, that you advertise this product for analog pedal use only to prevent from getting a bad rep on your product.
      I know, that it’s a bit harsch, but I am fair, as I know a thing or two about pedals and pedalboard building.
      I am sorry for being so brutally honest, but it’s a tough market with high demanding consumers and professionals.
      As you are using several digital pedals for busking, you will have the same problems, when powering up two or more digital pedals at the same time. My suggestion is to use one or two Mission Engineering 529 USB power converters with their separate power banks. At least you will only have to throw away the lithium batteries, once they are through and not the entire board. You can also mount the connectors underneath the board for protection, unlike the ones on the Outlaw board, which are mounted on the outside.
      Any further questions, please ask. I’ve been pedal boards over 7 years now.
      Really love your videos.
      Cheers,
      Krimson Le Diable

      Krimson Le Diable thanks for replying to me so quickly and in-depth! I've been using ChargeTech's 27,000mah portable power pack to charge my TC Helicon Play Acoustic for a while but I just bought a Trio+ & an M5 and so it's good to know what other options are out there. (Especially since I'm constantly trying to lighten my busking rig). Thanks for the compliments about my videos too! Your shredding skills (and animal slippers) are awesome!!

    • @daviday87
      @daviday87 5 років тому

      So I emailed the team at Outlaw and they got back to me super quickly with this in-depth answer:
      "The issue of noise has to do not so much with the NOMAD itself, but more with digital pedals that don’t take well to non-isolated, shared-ground power sources. The outputs on the NOMAD boards are not isolated - and there are certain DSP-based pedals that tend to leak digital noise more than others into signal of other connected pedals. Unfortunately, it's impossible for me to say exactly what will be the result of powering those 3 specific devices together… we have many NOMAD users with digital pedals who experience no noise issues.
      That said, I would also say that the combined current draw of these 3 pedals based on the specs I have found is about 1700mA… that's not the quite max current output of the NOMAD, but close to it, and thus battery life would be significantly less than the 10 hours we spec (our spec is based on 5 x 9V pedals drawing 100mA each). With a 1700mA total draw at 9V, battery life would be more in the 3-3.5 hrs range."
      Honestly if someone shows me a decent video/audio test of the pedalboard with a TC Helicon Play Acoustic, DigiTech Trio+ and a Line M5, I would be ready to buy it yesterday haha.

    I would be concerned about the position of the plugs on that board. Looks like they would be prone to damage being on the outside of the board like that.
    I'm using a Pedaltrain Metro 24 and a Voodoo Labs 4X4 for power. It does a great job.

    It’s a very cool idea but I must be honest 3 hours of charge for ten hours of play time is not very much

    • @BradfordGuy
      @BradfordGuy 5 років тому

      The 10-hr play-time is only an estimate using the maximum output of the battery. Most applications will not utilize the full mAh output and so would increase the run-time of the pedalboard. The details from the company says: "Based on 5 pedals, each requiring 9V DC @ 100mA. Actual battery life depends on the number of pedals connected and their voltage rating/current draw." So, ten hours of runtime for a unit like this is fairly high if you think about it.
