That was beautiful Bobby. I attended all but one of the gatherings with the bayou gardener. We all hoped every year you would attend. I don't think Donald realized how far his video's reached. We actually had someone attend who came all the way from Austrailia. It turned out to be the last gathering Donald and his family attended. We all became family through Donald and Mary. They were the most kind, giving, loving, generous, and happy people you've ever met. Even his son and daughter were open and receptive. Mary passsed away March 2. You are going to have to continue making gardening video's. Someone needs to carry the torch.

I just came across this about Donald. I haven't seen or heard from him in a while so I decided to see where he has been and saw this. I used to chat with him weekly. I even sent him pictures of our newborn son back in 2011 and he always responded with kind words and always wanted more pictures of him. He was always very helpful to my gardening questions and I also regret not getting a chance to go visit him. He always welcomed anyone. Thank you for your kind words and memories of him.

Bobby... Donald knew you loved him, and he looks down on ya now... Probably sit'n on his Kabota... Crunching on on a fresh picked Candy onion... RIP Donald ! And we hope healing finds you quickly too Bobby... Know he would never wish to see you shed a tear... But for today, we can be jealous of the angels, as they welcome him to the foot of the throne of our Father... Sir Donald will have some beautiful gardens to tend now, surely... Hang in there Bobby, and we'll see ya in the next one !

I'm so saddened to hear of Don's passing. When I was gardening, I learned so much from him. I'm just a country boy who grew up on a farm and forgot what I learned growing up. His videos were inspirational and reeducated me on what my dad taught me. I'm saddened of his passing as farming or gardening is a dying art. Prayers!

Similar to the words you shared about Donald, your channel was my first subscription on UA-cam. You were my resource and inspiration many years ago on gardening and life. Because of you, Webcajun was my second. Years later, my wife & I found a property to call home in Texas where we created a large vegetable garden with chickens/ducks/geese. Thank you for sharing your experience, knowledge and wisdom ... inspiring us for something great.

Looking back, it was Don's big garden/small farm, and his pure enjoyment of it, that made me realize that I wanted to go bigger. I keep going back to his channel, loving how he did the onions, and the tricks he used for his tomatoes.
Donald was a solid human being, who showed his love for his garden, family, and friends. What a warm person. Easy to watch, easy to like, easy to understand. I dreaded the day I would hear he had passed. We lost a legend, as MHP said. I too would've loved to have met him.

Bobby, Yep, I watched Webcajun but I watched you more when I first discovered UA-cam. And I watched imstillworkin and all the canning she does. You mention wishing you had gone down to Donald's place and many of us feel the same about you. I am now 80 years old and we know what that means. I am happy, even though the circumstances are sad, to see you here again. Please drop by here on UA-cam occasionally. Thanks for making this video.

I too was born in 1955, not far from where you live. I learned about growing things from my dad who when he was very young worked for a florist. Back in those days they grew there own flowers and plants and my dad learned way more than I will ever know about growing things. He tended many gardens with my help from a very early age. I picked a many of snaps and butterbeans and pulled a whole pile of weeds. The time and effort that you and Donald put into sharing your knowledge is the only way most people now days will ever learn how to be somewhat self sufficient. I’m so sorry to hear of webcajun passing and can’t think of anyone more sincere than yourself to pick up the torch and keep helping people to learn about the art of raising your own garden. Best wishes from a old Jarrett boy.

I know this video was made a year ago, but I just found d you and seen this. Donald was a mentor for me. I found his videos and watched every single one. Even wrote him on occasion for help and he replied. I grew up to know what I needed to do garden wise and didn’t go looking for videos and I kinda lost track of Donald. This saddens me to hear this. He was truly a sweet caring soul. He is missed ❤️

Well said. I live in south Louisiana also and as gardeners we all know that every region has its own challenges and Donald was my “go to” on UA-cam. His simple but detailed explanations of topics taught me so much more than technique. I concur with many other viewers here that you have the same approach so keep it up Bobby. Donald had a joie de vivre and he shared it with all. We should all be grateful, I know I am.

I looked forward to each one of his new videos, and once in a while I'll go back and re-watch these videos and it will take me back to that point in my life 10 years ago. I had sent him my current YT profile picture to show him my garden, he responded and said I had a nice setup, I was very proud that Donald told me that. I still enjoy his videos and hopefully they will remain up on UA-cam. We all learned from Donald, and one way or the other wanted to be like him or do what he's doing. I feel like I have just been kicked in the gut. I sit here trying to type this through tears and think how that sweet soul helped me find myself many years ago. I was in Iraq and had just had a real bad time and knew I wanted to get back to where I came from and was looking for information on growing...something...anything... and ran across Donald's videos...Him talking about how and why he did things and the gentle peace he exuded gave me direction and it was kinda like he was saying to me "It's gonna be alright.".
I never met the man, and I will carry that regret for the rest of my days, but I hope he knows how much he meant to us and how thankful we are for the gift he gave us.
Rest in peace Donald I will see you on the other side of the river.

I watched all his video and yours about 2 years ago and it got me back into gardening. His personality reminded me of my father and he even looked a bit like Dad. I have missed his and your videos. Carry on the tradition Bobby. Keep that torch burning.

Thanks for the nice tribute to Donald. I enjoyed his videos, too.
Another great youtube gardener that I miss is navajopa31. I know he had a stroke a couple years ago, and there has been no more videos or updates.
I hope you will do an occasional gardening video in the future. Really miss them. You are the first gardening channel that I subscribed to years ago. And I'm sure I've watched every one of your videos. Thanks so much.

He was the first farmer on UA-cam that got me back to gardening. RIP Sir.

UA-cam in 2019 lost another gardening legend. 2 of the youtube gardeners that I have followed this year. Larry Hall from rain gutter gardening fame and now Webcajun, both way to young. Thank you Bobby for your heartfelt tribute.
