I had a book called mummy's lump that both the school and nursery read to my boys.
It explains it all amazingly well and clear for children to understand

Of course the show has to milk Catherine’s illness and get comparisons…when in reality no one who has cancer has the same circumstances or experience other than the person going through it…it is a personal journey.

"how to tell your children you have cancer" if they're young there's ABSOLUTELY no need to tell your children unless you're actually going to D. It's abuse to put adult issues and worries onto children. It's ridiculous and damages children. It's selfish and attention seeking of the parent to lean emotionally on their children. They should be protected from adult issues. Unless you're going to end up going there was no need whatsoever for them to know. It's abuse. "My 4 yr old was role playing about me D at nursery." Bravo mum. Well done. Utterly ridiculous, unnecessary abuse.

I mean, being public figures, William and Catherine didn't really have a choice.

It's more selfish to not let your children know about it. It's robbing your kids their time with you, the chance to be involved in your life and the chance to learn and get a glimpse of reality. Yes, they're children but you don't have to wrap them with padded cushions every time they play outside, do you? You give them as much information their young minds can absorb so it educates them. I'm not saying that you must let your kids grow up early and spend all their time thinking about you. You have to balance it. This is why this conversationsa are important. My father died suddenly when was Prince George's age, not of cancer, but we were just given 2 days. My friend's mother died of cancer without her children (aged 8, 12 and 14) knowing coz she kept it from her family. Now, one of them has the same condition and calling her selfish for not sharing these things to them.
