I feel so sorry for what happened. Natasha sounded like a really lovely girl and she was on track to make a really great difference in the world. Sadly, it was never to be, and I am so sorry for that.
Updated packaging requirements and disclosure of ingredients should be a worldwide goal. So many products and ingredients are still proprietary or not fully understood by the consumers. Food, beverages, alcohols, health and beauty, pharmaceuticals and home interior items all being included. So very sorry about Natasha. Such a beautiful young lady.
I babysat a 4 years old with many allergies and she was the one telling me what she could and couldn’t eat. I was so nervous at first but she was a superstar!
If your child suffers severe allergies, bring your own food!! Especially when you are going to be essentially stranded in the air/away from medical treatment! "She knew she was safe with". How?! It wasnt labled so how did she know it was safe?
Don't forget about cross-contamination, such as a product without nuts that was processed by machinery that comes into contact with nuts. Labels need to state, 'may also contain....'
My Housemate Ella has a severe nut allergy we always check the packaging first RIP Natasha we hope this would make a difference to other people lives that have any food allergies including nuts😢😢😢❤❤❤🥜🥑🥚
My god. These poor, beautiful parents. I can't imagine their pain. And yet, they choose to use it as fuel to do good. I hope they succeed and can rest just a little bit easier knowing they helped to save lives.
How terrible this is. I can't begin to know the horrible pain these parents have been through. A devastating loss. My condolences to all involved. 💔💔💔😥
I’m not sure it didn’t have a label? I believe it did, but the sesame allergen from possible cross contamination wasn’t declared properly. You won’t get a straight answer out of a cashier at Pret on a busy morning in Heathrow airport either. They didn’t make the sandwich and they don’t know.
Exactly! Everyone wants the company held responsible but if she was as intelligent and vigilant as her parents claim she was, it begs the question, why wouldnt she ask?
Let's not point fingers at anyone. I'm sure parents have tortured themselves about it, especially dad. She was excited for the holiday, maybe she had eaten at Pret many times before and she would always see allergens mentioned on the packaging, and she didn't realise there was a loophole in food labeling.
@@NativeWarrior88 Have you been to Heathrow airport? If so, you know how busy it is. Especially this restaurant. Do you have food allergies? If you do, you would know that food service workers are famous for not knowing the ingredients in the food they serve, and/or not taking the time to find out. They are held to such terrible and exacting quotas and tragically, they aren't paid nearly enough to care about their customers' safety.
I'm pretty sure epipens don't actually fully stop a reaction. They just slow it down to buy you time to get to hospital. Which, on an aeroplane, wouldn't have been an option for her
Epi pens are absolutely nowhere near 100 percent effective. That is why you're advised to seek emergency medical care right after you use an epi pen. Sometimes they don't work. Sometimes they work for a while, and then the person has a delayed allergic reaction. Sometimes the epi wears off and the allergic reaction continues. Epi pens don't stop allergic reactions completely. They just give you time to get to an ER/A&E and not die before you get further treatment.
They're not a cure to a reaction. They help you stabilize until you get to the hospital. Never count on a epi saving your life, though, because it's a device that can malfunction, expire, or be used wrong. Always go to the hospital 100% of time if you have a reaction. ❤
A lady who was also a doctor, just died in Florida from eating food at a Disney restaurant that was supposed to be allergen free. She administered an epipen right after her allergic reaction started, but her reaction was too severe, so she still died.
I think there is actually a boycott of Pret going on right now because they decided to open new stores in occupied Palestine during the genocide. Disgusting, evil company!
I'm Welsh, and I've had too cases of food poisoning from home delivery Turkish donner kebab, I do have the bad habit of mentioning too others I'm an ex soldier, makes me think.
I feel sorry for them my condolences. Things should be labeled properly worldwide;however, when you are going places and you have severe allergies, I suggest bring your own food so you are 100% certain that it’s safe especially if you may end up somewhere without cell service or medical care or even if you’re in a busy city. You can’t be too sure nowadays. This isn’t a dig at the deceased or the parents just a suggestion from a person who knows people with allergies.
Absolutely maddening that possible future face of human rights was murdered by a poisoned baguette. Thats how i feel about it. she was poisoned. might as well been cyanide. a 15 year old girl who was already digging into her field passionately...She looked so much like both of her parents...sorrow doesnt cover this kind of tragedy
The Pret mange catering company should be accountable for what happened to the wife & husband couples only daughter by suing the "said" company through the law courts asap .
Her poor dad. He looks absolutely broken by this an knowing he tried everything to help her just absolutely heartbreaking

I am so sorry about this tragic loss❤ RIP dear soul!! Hugs from Austria!

7:11 her dads face broke my heart. I feel so bad for him and her mum 💔
So so sorry for the lose of your beautiful girl. ❤❤
Wow! So incredibly sad and so sorry for what happened. As a parent this would break me too. So so very sorry this happened. Very very tragic.
Gosh this is beyond heartbreaking. Both Natasha’s parents are incredibly strong. How I just wanted to hug them.😢
Just found out about this today, how heart-wrenching and unnecessary this was!!! Rip to Natasha🕊
I babysat a 4 years old with many allergies and she was the one telling me what she could and couldn’t eat. I was so nervous at first but she was a superstar!
What can i say except i am so deeply sorry !

Very unkind of you to admonish the parents at this stage.
As a parent myself, this is absolutely heartbreaking 💔. 😢
Tragic.

I never heard them mention her age. Does anyone know how old she was?
Such a tragic, and avoidable death
i think she was 17, i’m njot too sure
it said 15 at the beginning x

RIP - Unfortunately - - On travel - this is real - - Kids having snacks - adults taking on snacks. - a lot of food are not caterogarised

If there’s no label, I wonder why she didn’t ask the staff about the ingredients. With such severe allergies I would ask. Terribly sad nonetheless.

I’m certain it was labelled with certain allergens but sesame wasn’t listed 💔
That's y I don't give kids a snack without parents concent
They must have had ingredients on the back of the sandwich? Even if they weren’t put in bold?
I thought epipens were 100 perecent effective. Did she need 3?
Apparently the needles were too short. She had 16mm ones which might have not reached the muscle. Currently 25mm ones are recommended.

Pret should be closed down. I’m disgusted beyond. It should be boycotted
Are you out of your mind? They didn't break the law.

Yes they should be close down

Probably a bad idea to mention that to people that handle your food
If you have allergies be more careful ok the staff in the shop only sell them😎

That company needs to be shut down.
I agree there are so many reasons why this company should no longer be operating. So much blood is on their hands.
Life’s meaningless and we’re just animals
How do Pret as a company still run? Their operation and decisions, have quite literally killed someone.
What a load of overly dramatic nonsense.

Your comment is nothing but exaggerated nonsense. She wasn't murdered and she certainly wasn't poisoned by a baguette.
I miss Holly. Not Phil, though. Adulterers aren’t my fave.
Should have gone to Gregg's bakers 😂😂
How fucking insensitive of you to say.
Why is this funny to u?
Time and a place
That’s not funny shame on you
I sure hope you are just. 5 years old kid because you sound like that
