      I don't do to much site work, a few years ago I plumbed 14 new builds, I quite enjoyed it but I'm probably a bit slow compared to plumbers who do it all the time, thanks for watching mate 👍

    Found using press a lot better when doing commercial work. Than soldering
    Can rent them if don’t own one.

      Your right about pressing mate, I do have a gun for 54mm, but I didn't have any fittings so decided it would just be quicker to solder rather than drive and get some. I have a press job next week which might be interesting, thanks for watching

      Thanks for watching mate, surprisingly the copper is only a few pounds more expensive than steel, steel pipe is really expensive at the minute so it just made sense time wise to do it in copper

    Great job! Tom you should invest in a cordless bandsaw. They van can cut so much stuff and super clean cut without sparks or many burrs.
    We’ve got the Milwaukee 5” and the smaller Milwaukee plus Bosch make an awesome 2” one which we have to of. I cannot recommend them enough for cutting m10 stud, pipe etc!

      @@PlumbLikeTom no worries mate, honestly I hesitated about about buying one but since having it we use for all kinds of things. Even cutting recessed shower head arm threads down if you’re slightly out on your depths etc , cutting machine screws down or bolts. It’s amazing what they go through.
      I watch all your vids and you’re an inspiration. You show it how it is. I’ve been doing this a while and we all know how hard jobs can be and you show case that. Keep up the good work!

      I'm still not sure about that rapid blue especially on the larger sizes, I can't remember ever having a leak with locktite so I see no reason to change, thanks for watching mate 👍

      I grew up doing all the jobs nobody else wanted and it kind of just carried on, as soon as I could drive at 17 is when I got chucked in at the deep end, it certainly was tough for a start but now it's just what I do, thanks for watching as always mate

    Nice watching you. But what was the thinking for not reducing the 2 inch pipe earlier at the top? Wouldn't it have been less faff (no cutting little bars to hold the 54). I hate to make negative comments but the big diagonal pipe coming across looks ugly. Were you looking to match it to how you found it?

      I was just concerned about reducing the pipe size, it probably would have worked but being an old one pipe system I thought it was best to keep the pipe size identical, the pipe did luck ugly, I wasn't too happy with but at the end of the day the system and the boiler will need upgrading soon so it's not worth doing anything more than you have to, the client was just super happy to have some heating working again, thanks for watching 👍

      I think that cutters had it to be fair, I find if your not sure how much waters in a pipe sometimes cutting through it slowly works in your favour, thanks for watching as always mate

    Enjoy your videos mate. How long have you been plumbing and what’s your opinion on Vailant boilers? I’ve moved recently and had mine serviced and been told Vailant and Baxi are the best. Mine’s a Vailant.

      I've been plumbing 14 years; I started when I left school at 16 and I've been in the deep end since I was 17 and got sent out on my own doing all the jobs nobody else wanted. There aren't too many Valliant boilers in my area, but the ones I have worked on all seem to be very good and reliable, I mainly fit Baxi's, I used to solely fit Worcester's but have been having multiple issues recently with brand new boilers not working recently and the rep not answering his phone and not keeping to his word, thanks for watching mate

      It depends on the job as to whether I press or not, I've got all the gear but nobody locally keeps the bigger fittings on the shelf, I mainly use press on the power plants I work on, I've got some to do next week at a school, thanks for watching mate

      We have to drive 45 mins to the nearest merchant for press fitting over 28,lucky have built up a big stock at lock up

      They are brilliant couplers, I use them mainly in churches for joining cast heating pipes, not done one in a while but interesting jobs,

    I hope they’re paying you enough mate, there’s a big shortage of Skilled Guys like you.
    Here in Jockoland we make £45K/year plus 31days holiday, pension, Van, phone, iPad & uniform. They just can’t get Skilled Tradesmen & the Course Cowboys would run a mile on Jobs like that.

      Thanks for the support as always mate, I do have an old tripod bender somewhere bit I'm fairly sure it only goes up to 42mm, when I was younger my old boss used to pay £3.20 for doing all these sorts of jobs, as soon as I could drive, I was sent out doing all the stuff nobody else wanted, it certainly is what you call character building, it probably made me a better plumber and it does make you appreciate thing a lot more
