Yes, temples in Taiwan are free of charge. And toilets too, unlike Europe. This is very nice and convenient. Tourists need to spend money on drinking water though, while in many European countries and Australia, tap water is usually drinkable. However, when I did a tour around the whole island by scooter in 2021, I noticed there were many water dispensers. Many were in temples. I didn't need to spend money on water, either. Temples were great rest stops for me, and I think for you too, especially when you were by bike rather than by scooter.
Jiufen is the no. 1 local tourist attraction if you do not count the National Palace Museum which is totally different. Certainly the no. 1 “old town”.
In Taiwan, temples do not charge an entrance fee; they are completely free to visit. It's in China where they charge unusual entrance fees for tourists and locals. You are always welcome to visit Taiwan again. We really enjoy your videos!
I still never been to Jiufen! It’s touristy but it looks like it’s touristy for a good reason. I’m going to Taiwan in Feb so maybe I’ll finally make it there
The narrow area you passed through is not a mining place. Its name is "穿屋巷", which means the lane that passes through the houses. It is a shortcut retained by local residents when they built their houses, so that residents living in the rear area can reach the busier streets in front without having to climb up and down.
What an amazing town! So much character and a foody haven. I know it’s petty but watching UA-camrs react like everything they taste is manna from heaven gets pretty old. The genuine reaction is more interesting.
Hahaha hopefully my ice cream reaction and Jacqui's muffin reaction was good enough for you 😅 Thank you so much for your support Cecilia we really appreciate it
That Jiufen area is gorgeous. One the most iconic day hikes in Northern Taipei is there, the Teapot Mountain hike. There are also lots of curiosities as well like the Gold Museum in nearby Jinguashi. Thanks for sharing your trip!
Love ❤ I have never visited that tea shop. However, the genuine high class Taiwan tea is a real one and thus actually listed into one of luxury and elegant consumptions for the wealthy class in traditional Taiwan society, especially Taiwan was used to be top green tea export worldwide.
I’m in San Francisco if I was there I would treat you guys to the tea session By the way it’s cute you say YUAN but we call it NT for the New Taiwan dollar Everyone in Taiwan calls it N.T for the local dollar Yuan I believe is for currency in China 😊
I’m living vicariously through your Taiwan biking trip, thank you for sharing your journey, if you guys ever made it to SF Bay Area, please feel free to msg me, my husband and I would love to host you guys❤- your Taiwanese fan.
I'm from Keelung and I thought you guys wouldn't pass by our mini city. Because the streets are crowded and mostly hilly, you can notice that there are very few people riding bicycles on the road.😁

Ah Furbaby, thank you so much. The free entries sort of add to the way you could describe how nice Taiwan and Taiwanese people are. 🇹🇼❤️

Thank you Steven, its true, as busy as it was we still absolutely loved the place. Really charming and really good vibes
In the cold weather, please keep warm
We'll do, thanks Sheng ❤️

Thank you very much for this comment 🤩
❤️
Nice trip, good job, Lovely couple 💕
Thank you David 🤩
To me, cilantro in ice cream is not weird, how is it any different from adding mint to ice cream and coffee? They are both herbs/spices, right?
Thank you for sharing the beauty of Taiwan with your audience. 😊
It's our pleasure 🙏
Love ❤

We’ll have to come back and check it out without a doubt. We really wanted to but the budget was a little tight 🙏🙈

Wow Guy'💃🕺50.00 A$ for two cups of TEA, did not know Starbuck🧜♀ sold tea in Taiwan. Love Jacquelin's pink sweater! 🩷 Cheers 🍵🍵🧜♀
Wishing you fond memories of this epic ride and visit to Taiwan 🇹🇼
You can’t miss the beef noodles in Taipei
Ha! You already know we are going there 1 more time 🍲😉
