She definitely paved the way for Dolly & Reba. She definitely was 1 of the Queens of Country Music. I would recommend you check out her life story called Coal Miners Daughter. She wrote it about her life, it went to #1, and then they turned it into a movie that was nominated for an Oscar. Sissy Spacek who played Loretta in the movie, won the Oscar for her portrayal of Loretta. So nice to see the younger generation appreciate great music. Thanks for the reaction!!!
Coal miner’s daughter?
Okay 👌
She's been THE reigning Queen of Country music for over 60 years and was on the Grand Ole Opry Hall of Fame since then.
She was so sassy! Loretta was definitely an icon!
My dad (87) has been a fan of both Dolly Parton & Loretta Lynn since before I was born (1967). So I was lucky to have grown up with their music. Loretta & Patsy Cline (my all time favorite) were true trail blazers for women in music. Prior to them, the industry was made up of male singers. Patsy took a young Loretta under her wings & they became inseparable best friends until Patsy's untimely death in 1963 at only 30 years old. I just bought her book "Me & Patsy kickin' up dust" - the true story of her best friend in Loretta's own words (she's written several books too). Loretta went onto to earn the title Queen of Country as she has won numerous awards which in turn helped pave the way and open doors for ALL female singers who followed after. Her autobiographical song "Coal Miner's Daughter" was turned into a hit movie back in 1980 (stars Sissy Spacek & Tommy Lee Jones). My favorite songs from Loretta are Coal Miner's Daughter, Fist City, & You're the reason our kids are ugly (duet with Conway Twitty). Also, Loretta & Dolly have been friends since Dolly first hit the scene shortly after Loretta's career took off. There is a video on UA-cam with Loretta & Dolly singing a medley of Loretta's hit songs - you should check it out.
Loretta had more songs banned from the radio than all male country singers combined. She was honest, feisty, sassy, and empowered women in a time and music genre where it was risky to do so. She wasn't the first Queen of Country Music (Patsy Montana, Patsy Cline, and Kitty Wells predated her) but she was THE transitional performer who brought women from the "girl singer" to headliners in their own right, paving the way for Dolly, Tammy, Reba, and everyone else who came after. Even Loretta, Dolly, and Tammy had to start their careers attached to a male mentor. Loretta had Conway Twitty, Dolly had Porter Waggoner, and Tammy had George Jones.
Beautiful reaction thank you for helping to keep lorettas spirits alive
She paved TGE WAY for female Country artists since then and she and Patsy Cline were best friends when her plane crashed.
Thank you for reacting to Loretta Lynn. If you get a chance, I think you might also like to do a reaction to Loretta's younger sister, Crystal Gayle. Her song "Don't It Make My Brown Eyes Blue" was a big hit on both the country and the pop charts at the same time.
And Crystal does have some of the bluest eyes I've ever seen and...the longest hair. 😍😲
A lot of her songs were very personal. Her husband ran around a lot & caused her so much pain. But she was feisty & fearless. She put it in her songs. And kept going.
My favorite song is Fist City. Believe me you are going to love it 💖💖💖
All the country artists shut off comments in memory of Loretta Lynn. ❤️
Rest in peace Queen.
You can't believe you haven't listened to her before?? Well, I imagine there's probably a lot of 'artists' and 'songs' you probably will not believe you haven't listened to before until you finally hear them. You just have to give them a chance! Because you never know what great songs you might hear and actually like! 🙂 I know some other reactors won't listen to a request simply because it doesn't have millions of views. That's actually not very smart and not very fair either, Because there's so many great songs that people are missing out on. I'm glad you listened to the person requested this. Otherwise, you would never heard this song. Maybe should listen to more people's requests. There are some great suggestions by people out there in UA-cam land. And there are actually some great country songs. Loretta Lynn wrote some great. ones. I know many of the rock and roll people hate country music. They don't understand just what an art form it is in its own right. And it's actually a heck of a lot more difficult to write a country song with a good clever hook and story line than it is to write a rock song with nonsense lyrics that no one understands anyway. Hope you listen to more requests, because one never knows what song they will like unless they take a chance and listen to it! Peace to you. 👍
You said nonsense lyrics 😂😂😂
Well that had me laughing.
I try to do requests but I can’t do all you know, some people request about 4 songs from just one video and that gets overwhelming.
I do sometimes but not all the time and I hope people would understand
I love to experience different genres of songs and I’m sure I can’t listen to all.
Thank you for watching 😁
Loved Loretta
The songs.... Soo sweet man.....!!!!!
Great reaction, check out her song "fist city" and "your squaw is the warpath "
I'm sure you will enjoy them
...is *_on_* the warpath
Many people don't know but Loretta's first number one hit, "Don't Come Home a Drinkin' (With Lovin' on Your Mind)" was written by her sister Peggy Sue even though both their names are credited in the song.. Peggy Sue started writing the song when she was living in Wabash, Indiana. She took it to Nashville and let Loretta's producer, Owen Bradley, hear it, he liked it and told her to finish writing it. She did, then submitted it to Loretta the next day. Loretta recorded the very next day and Peggy let her put her name on it as a writer well, (They do that in Nashville a lot. I don't agree with it but sometimes that's the only way to get a song recorded by a big star) and it became Loretta's first number 1 hit. By the way, all the family's last name is Webb. They just use their first and middle names professionally. Loretta Lynn, Peggy Sue and Crystal Galye.
Wow I never even thought of her last name
Crystal Gayle's real name is Brenda Gail, but the Decca records wanted her to change it because of Brenda Lee.
@@Shazjgus Thank you!
@@Sherri_Jordan Her surname is her husband's surname, not her middle name. She wasn't given a middle name.
Loretta Lynn married Oliver (Doo) Lynn so Lynn is her married last name not her middle name. She and her sister both wrote the song Don’t come home a drinkin
She gets more to the point with her song Fist City.
Dolly and her have been very close for decades and are both from Appalachia.
Yes. That's true.
Oh, I forgot to mention, in addition to her sister Crystal Gayle, Loretta also had another sister named Peggy Sue Wright who also had several hit songs. Here is a video that has two of her songs "Peggy Sue - Love Whatcha Got At Home & Kick It Again" ua-cam.com/video/OjgBlp-XPT4/v-deo.html
She also had a hit called, "Im Dynamite". Loretta Lynn wrote a lot of songs that her sisters sang. They were a very musical family.
Agree, they also had a brother who was a singer, Jay Lee Webb. All the family's last name was Webb by birth. The women just didn't use it s they would be seen as separate acts instead of sisters. By the way, Loretta's song, "Don't Come Home a drinkin' (with Lovin' on your mind)" was actually written by her sister Peggy Sue. She submitted it to Loretta and let her put her name on it as well, and it becomes Loretta's first number 1 hit.
Loretta sang with Dolly Parton & Tammy Wynette. The album/cd is called, "Honky Tonk Angels". You can find the video they did "Silver Threads & Golden needles" on youtube. It's a great album/cd to listen to. Also Dolly & Loretta sang a melody of Lorettas songs on Dollys tv show. You would also love Loretta singing duets with Conway Twitty. I am missing Miss Loretta so much!
This song is only slightly spunky compared to her song "fist city"
Fun doing worth a listen.
You get prettier all the time! Great reaction!
I’m blushing 😊
I love that you wanted to listen twice! ✌️
😁😁😁
You should listen to “fist city” next
In this video she was pregnant with her twins and back then they did not want to show pregnant singers bellies so they had her play guitar to cover her belly.
Love it!
I think she wrote that after catching her husband with another woman after she performed a concert…
Love your reaction & rewatching, singing along 🥰🥰🥰 You should definitely watch "Coal Miner's Daughter", I'll warn you that there are some *triggering* scenes, BUT it was normal for the time & place. As for your question, LOTS of men don't equate love & sex, two separate things to them.
THEY STAYED TOGETHER UNTILL HIS DEATH
hi, sweet lady, the owner of a beautiful and stunning smile...... please react to the song begin on the cover of novia bakhmid
GRACIE
PLEASE SEE THIS COMMENT!
Listen to and do a react video to Loretta's song "Family Tree"
Please! I'd love to see your face and reaction when u figure what she's saying and what she's calling the woman in that song 😂
My grandpa played music with her after meeting her while she was picking berries when she lived in Whatcom county in Washington state in early 1952. My grandpa was from Arkansas. My family says it true, but I'm not sure. If it is then that's amazing.
Sadly she died yesterday 4th October 2022 aged 90 ( but you already knew that)
Yes that’s so sad 😞
But 90 is an amazing age
@@GracieReacts Unless you`re 89 and wanna live another 10 years.

Now do FIST CITY!
I did, it was fun 😂

Fist city
Hii.... My sweet lady.....
Love Loretta, 100 percent but, as I’ve aged, there isn’t anyone worth fighting over. It’s just an ego stroke for the cheater. Still, Loretta is wonderful.
You should check her song first city or coal miner's daughter
I'm a guy. No, if a man cheats he doesn't love you.
You think that was funny? Check out her " fist city "!
I have 😂
