Ehh story mode needs more work, i would only recommend playing it in private lobbies with friends. The public experience is a bit rough. Not really buggy, just issues like everyone needing to travel together etc
Yeah that's likely a good idea to join with a small group. Meadow mode is good for exploring and randomly finding other Players. Plus you can play as 7 other creatures other then Slugcats.

A bigger shelter mod is definitely going to be vital for this meadow mod.
If I'm not mistaken, there is a text chat on the enter button in the Story mode.

Is it really stable? Been thinking of getting a second copy to ditch split screen for this mod.

Quitting out of the game and reopening was a good workaround for me.
@@AgentAvis You mean pressing the back button? I tried that and it seemed to work, but I can't press anything other than *match save* Is this normal?
