Imagine how sad you would be as a model. Everyone else gets to wear beautiful dresses like 1 & 2 and they you have to wear a dress that looks like you've been impaled.
Or my American Government class
As someone who is currently training with the modeling industry I was also extremely confused by these runway shows 😂 but the reason why the models don’t smile in a runway show is because they are supposed to look very serious. Fashion modeling is all about showcasing the outfit like an art piece so they want the attention to be focused on the outfit. Commercial modeling on the other hand encourages smiling, taking your time on the runway, a lot more posing, etc. it’s very interesting but I promise these outfits aren’t being made to showcase what everyone will be wearing but rather a form of art through fashion!
I was always under the impression that haute couture was more or less a giant art show, not necessarily intended to be used in everyday fashion, but more the creative license of the designers, tailors and seamstresses.
I've heard this before. And it still confuses me, not gonna lie. Maybe I'm just an uncultured swine but if the focus of the show isn't what they're wearing but instead just some bizarre art statement by the designer, why call it fashion? Just kinda feels like false advertising, you know?
I mean...there's looking serious.....but this just looks downright miserable

Fashion student here! 😊 so this is a classic example of a runway show. You have Pret a Porter = wearable fashion (not Fast fashion!!!) and Haute Couture = not wearable or not for daily life but a red carpet or something wild like that. The Haute Couture is basically to keep the show entertaining and not to get too boring. It’s basically to give that little “wow what” and then your normal collection again. 😊

As a fashion designer, my new goal in life is to design something so crazy so daz can react to me. Then I’ll know I’ve made it
Also just to throw some fashion knowledge out there. There are few types of fashion categories. This collection doesn’t showcase wearable clothing but fashion art or what we call “Wearable Art” and it’s the most fun to design. It usually ends up in museums or award shows for publicity and shock value.

You know what? This fashion show is not as entirely weird and strange as the last fashion show with the shapes and pool floaty. I wear Victor & Rolf's perfume and I've always respected their work. I'm actually fascinated in how they managed to pull off something like this, literally defying gravity. Daz's commentary is always truly the best, honestly, good laugh as per usual

Ive been rewatching this for awhile, and it really got me thinking:
what if Daz really was invited to a fashion show with people who are really into the fashion line. Here we have Daz actually spilling the tea on how the dresses really looks like from a practical POV. And the others who are there who are listening to what Daz says and ACTUALLY agrees with him. Would the audience be applauding for the designers..? some thought spilling here XD

It's actually correct, the quota is "make them focus on the clothes, not your face.". Basically there walking mannequins, sure they look nice but there not supposed to be acting like humans.

i went to disney world and the ride experience wasnt fun but at the end of the first day when we all gathered around the castle at magic kingdom i did tear up a bit bc i loved disney animations growing up and my family doesnt have the kind of money to go to places like disney ever so i never thought id go so it was a combination of holy shit im actually here and being incredibly grateful for the opportunity bc my overall experience was good, and the heat of florida was nice compared to north dakota
