Across both days of the festival, Smirnoff House brought in DJs for special, intimate sets in the House at HARD Summer. The installation was powered by a custom VOID soundsystem to keep the party going all night long.
On Saturday, Ape Drums, Drezo, Ardalan, Claude VonStroke and more hit the decks ahead of Mija's FK a Genre take over which featured Justin Martin, REZZ, Graves and Mija herself, followed by a closing DJ set from DJDS (DJ Dodger Stadium).
Sunday saw Wood Holly, Sita Abellan, Slumberjack and Jai Wolf b2b Manilla Killa ahead of Jillionaire of Major Lazer, Ekali, Vindata and finally, Amine Edge & Dance.

Why does trap need to be saved?
A lot of general festival trap is still being produced (yellow claw, carnage, party favor, etc). Flosstradamus and RL Grime to me are the originators of the Trap scene, they really brought it to the mainstream. Not that it's a bad thing, but producers like Graves, Ekali, Nghtmre, and Carmack are taking the trap game to the next level with their complex production combined with that deep 808 vibe.
Can't forget about TNGHT, pioneers of trap man.

why is it that dj's like this who really know their genre well and mix extremely well don't get put on mainstage but mainstream dj/producers just press play and jump around the stage like idiots and get mainstage? hope this guy gets mainstage one day!
cuz the general public doesn't have any musical knowledge as a whole. they don't pay to see someone who's a master of their craft, or even who necessarily sounds good. they pay to party at whatever is popular (because to them the bigger someone is the better they must be) or familiar to their ears and are told by other people with no musical knowledge what is good / sounds good. and also mainstage stuff is just generally more appealing to a wider audience, hence why it's mainstage. also in my mind mainstage is generally less about pushing the envelope since it's for already-popular artists, and this seems like it would naturally lend itself to artists who are more interested in the business / money / marketing and image side of things than the actual skill of djing and art of producing. ofc it's a balance of everything, but some of the bigger mainstage dj's that you're talking about i would say are more business leaders and the face of a brand than anything else.

nothing wrong with mixing in red. if youre slamming 2 red bars it will start to compress and sound like shit but mixing in yellow is just leaving headroom. let the djs dj :) if it SOUNDS bad then there's an issue.
Isn't it beter to not to touch the red? Especially on you master. And shouldn't you start a set with lower volume than what you ending with? volume should gradually go up right? Since the human ear get used too the amount of decibels really fast and it would start sounding softer by the end of the set?

i mean you're not going to notice compression until you hit the ceiling. but yeah its better to stay in the yellow, you'll have more headroom. some songs are also mastered differently than others and are louder... there are a lot of factors to consider. but in the end if it sounds good, youre fine. people care too much about rules and/or "omg hes in the red" but really, if something sounds good, it sounds good. if it doesnt, it doesnt. :)
