Hey Everybody! Today Paulo Runs Through "Rahdo's Goofs"
If you find Goofs I didn’t notice Please leave Timestamps :)
Thank You
Oh yes! More coverage on solo gaming please! We are like the pariah of the boardgaming community... :(
Wayne The Lonely Gamer I might have something for you! I'm making a solo game for a competition right now. It's still WIP, but it's free to download! It's called Agent Decker. :)
A dynamic delivery. It helped me “stay focused”. I’m glad you held the cards up close, and they were very clear to see.
One of favorite solo games and one of my favorite games to travel with.
I refused to pay retail price for this. I finally found it used at my local game store for $4. Can't wait to try this weekend.
Thanks for this. The instructions were a bit confusing.
I love this game! This and Onirim (with all the expansions enabled) are my top two solo games. Thanks for the runthrough!
Just finished (and won!) my first game - thank you SO MUCH for your run-through because it made way more sense than the included instructions :)
Thanks for posting this! I've heard of it for a while but never looked into it.
Great run through. One of the best ones yet. Thanks!
best explanation on UA-cam
Thank you! I was double-paying for removing the cards permanently! Failed first to runs before even moving to yellow danger and thought "wow this game is crazy hard!"
very entertaining. Nicely done rahdo!
Great explanation! Thank you...
Heh, I'm loving this theme.
If I'm right, overshooting the challenge as happened with the very first round and card is probably devastating...you needed 0, but got 1. Now, am I right? I played and enjoyed this game only twice yet.
Big fan of you Paulo, learning me those games.
Just got this game yesterday. It is hard!
Don't read if you want to beat the game on your own. I've done a lot of strategies and the best way to win is to always pick explore island instead of raft at the beginning. Destroy ALL useless cards as well asap. You'll have 2-5 food but you will be mostly unstoppable.
there is this card that allows you to change 1 or 2 cards. can these cards change themselves out? And can they change out cards with used abilities?
Sold me on this one as well, ordered and on the way! After trying Onirim and Sylvion, much more interested in single- and 2-player games.
Give Castellion a try too! The use of tiles adds variety to the other deck-based games.
10:45 If he hadn't checked and shuffled the deck he would have won
The video is quite short, compared to reviews of other game, so I think it would be perfectly fine as a single video.
Good review, but I still don't get how the ageing card get involved and when you change the era to yellow and red. Pretty game but bad explanation sheet rules
Bart Verstegen Yes' it would have been much better if the card that he drew was a 0 :) Thanks for the kind words :)
i love your reviews. you do an awesome playthrough and i will buy this game on ebay now thanks to you. can you recommend any other single player board/card or dice games i can play on my own? :) thankyou. xx
don'targuewithme well, i'm not that much into solo games, but i do enjoy sos titanic, space hulk death angel, and shadowrun crossfire :)
this probably isn't related to this topic.I thought up of an idea of a tabletop game that incorporated the idea of rummy. ex: 2 aces or 4 in a row. the idea is that this mechanism/mechanic can be used to ex: 1) build a structure 2) defeat a boss. that is if you have the cards to do that. the theme/format of the game is either 1)surviving on an island 2) a dungeon rpg...... any ideas?
check faq.rahdo.com where there's a link to an awesome designer forum where you'll find lots of friendly folks waiting to bounce ideas around :)
***** thx a lot.
This is funny. The whole game was a nightmare..:. Bad rolls across the board
any suggestions for simmilar games to this? I love the mechanics, but not so much the art style...thhans for suggestions
faq.rahdo.com #5 has a great way to get a lot of suggestions you're looking for :)
It’s fun but it’s too hard I have played 3 times twice one level 1 and only once have I made it passed halfway through red it gets annoying when you spend 25 minutes trying to get to pirates just to die before you can
Setup, some say do not play the -3 aging card for beginners, yet they put the -4 and -5 in the game at bottom of the deck. Why is this?
sorry it's been so long since i played, i don't really remember specifics. but you could ask on boardgamegeek and get an answer pretty quick :)
Hey! Just picked this up. The very stupid card is one of the early aging cards (brown beard), meaning you can get it randomly from the beginning to the near the end, making it a very scary wildcard. The -4 and -5 cards are the late aging cards (grey beard), so you only get them far into the game, meaning at that point they're not as bad depending on how well you've build up your deck. Hope that helps.
You're not suposed to know what is the two pirate cards before you've run through the adventure deck 3 time, but it's a really good solo game ! And if you have extra copies, you can make a coop version of it !
Lonni Perrin hmm, i just double checked and my rules say '5) shuffle the pirate cards, draw 2 random pirates and place them face up as your final opponents', so you should know what's waiting for you from the start, i think.
i'd be curious to know more about this co-op variant! :)
I hope this isn't a subtle hint that there are troubles with Jen...
what age is this for?

@Anifco67 it did two years ago :)
@rahdo I finished with a score of 77! what do you think of that? From your experience is this an okay score?
Has the card aspect of boardgames completely taken over... It seems more and more like that. Is it bad, I'm not sure but it does seem like that.
milky potato i don't think so. of the last 50 or so games i've covered, only 15 were card games... :)
Looked neat until I saw too many similar cards.
Not even on the same level aesthetically or mechanically as the Torbey games like Sylvion
Better or worse?
Maybe others have had better luck with this game but I haven't. It fails on many levels for me: the artwork is uninspired and repetitive. The gameplay is lackluster and unrewarding - boring even. There are only a few different types of hazards and not nearly enough variety in the card play. The rules are poorly written, confusing and unwieldy. I wouldn't bother with this game. And my copy is for sale if anyone is interested. LoL.
This game was boring af. What a waste of 20 bucks
