my theory is that the pedal is like a primary/secondary throttle position sensor or in the computer world its called an HID human input device or human interface device, and the actual throttle position sensor on the throttle body is the real tps in place to verify the actual throttle position. i know with modern cars having an eco or sport mode the throttle profile of the drive by wire pedal can be tuned to act like it has dynamic lobe instead of a static lobe profile like cable throttle bodies/carburetors
Very interested in this, we’ve put a manual TB on a CTS-V and it worked well, I would definitely do this to my 13 GT500, Keep us all posted. I’m running a GEN3R making north of 1300 rwhp with a built motor from Wonder Racing
Hey Alex couldn't you theoretically remote mount the TPS sensor on a bracket, leave it connected to the stock pedal and have the new throttle cable ran from the pedal actuate the TPS similar to how a lot of swap vehicles do? I don't see why something like that paired with the Super Cobra Jet mechanical throttle body wouldn't work.
Could this mean that you have a wiring issue on the car? Because if you unplug the wires from the Throtle you should have a circuit code not on the tps but the throttle flap.
@@YDBT4LIFE but if there’s a malfunction related it could explain the loss in power i could be wrong because I’m not well versed in it I’ve been out of the car repair business for a while.

Alex, that was a super interesting test. I cant believe the engine still revved with the peddle disconnected. I will be really interested to see what happens with a mechanical link to the throttle.
What did you do to your finger alex? Very interesting eliminating the fly by wire on a stock pcm. The throttle pedal is just a request, and the tps is a input. I would have beetlejuice make you a custom intake and throttle body for this set-up.
Awesome video alex this is very helpful for the whipple peasants (myself included )with the p2119 code on these 150mm throttle Bodies looking forward to the outcome of this I always thought of this never had the balls to take my $850 tb apart to try it
I would see if you can swap out the pedal....I can't remember what its call.... I seem to recall 3v had some issues with them. Also, if it's a resonance issue, I wonder if a non aluminum, softer material (3d printed plastica, resin, hell even wood) spacer between the throttle body and the elbow would dampen it enough to help. I'm gonna put my bet on the pedal electronics though.
El carro acelero por que con el pedal subio la pulsacion de los injectores entiendo que en el live data la mezcla de gas fue rica cuando le distes al pedal .
Very weird that the throttle pedal input still revved the engine. I’m intrigued by this theory but throttle cables and bellcranks are also known to break. Just wondering how much resonance and vacuum is really drawing the blade closed or if it’s going into premature fail safe. 🤔🤔 pretty cool that you can manipulate the blade angle without it completely wigging out!
Well the advantage of a cable is it wont fail for 15-20yrs, where as electronics struggle to survive 5yrs. All the electronics on cars are planned obsolescence and anti repair. The emissions and fuel economy shtick is just that a shtick. What happens when your upstream O2 sensor fails? It goes dead rich to save the motor, meaning you tank the fuel economy and spew far more pollutants than carbureted non cat cars. What happens with the MAF fails? See previous answer. What happens when the ECU fails? Welp time for a new car because they are $1200+ and each vehicle of the same make and model will have multiple part numbers and you have to be 100% positive you get the right one because you can not return them once installed.

Keep up the great work
Some people are excited with the Leeloo Dallas Multipass, the real opportunities are being realised.
It's a whole new world
😂 what element are you?
That was pretty cool. Thanks for the video!
That's really neat! Not gonna lie, I do miss having a cable throttle, lot of fab work I'm sure to make it happen still. Good shit!
Old School KB throttle body for a terminator?

Always love driving the '68 just cause of how snappy and good the throttle feels. Electronic will never feel as good!

We have tried some special tuning.
No there is no wiring issue

Can you make a video of how to port it
Cool video. Can’t wait to see the Presidential engineered mechanical throttle linkage😂

Wrong.
Pedal made timing go up. I looked at the logs.

Great information Alex.
It would be interesting to see what comes of this.
Will it work on a black jack 3V ?
Will this fit my 3v??

Pedal raised spark but didn't move throttle...we are looking into why. lol

Do u think a code for the peddle didn't show up yet because of the car needing a drive cycle or it legit does care to see it..
No. It would be pretty instant.
You should be able to buy a mechanical throttle version for your throttle body. I seen others used a mechanical version in there gt500s.
I think once you unplug the throttle pedal it won’t work the engine lite will come on

Will putting this on my stock gen 3 make more power??🤣
