Guilty Crown was not my first anime, but it was the first anime that made me really turn my head to that OST and say, "good lord, WHO composed this absolute masterpiece of a soundtrack?" And thus I had discovered one of the most prominent composers in all of Japan....
I felt chills from the very beginning. Sawano Hiroyuki is one of the best contemporary composers and musicians. He doesn't know the meaning of 'bad music' because all of his works are masterpieces.

Oh thanks for this beautiful suite! Guilty Crown is literally the first anime where I cried so hard because of how majestic and awesome the music was. It was the first time on any anime i have watched where I needed to know who is the genius composer behind this. Thanks for these past 10 years of these awesome and emotional music whether it be anime, drama, game and movie! 🙏❤️
Someone once said "a good film can survive a bad score, but a good score can't provide a bad film". I've always struggled with this, and to be perfectly honest, GC's story has its issues, it is by no means perfect. But the music. That saved the show for me. After first discovering Hiroyuki Sawano from this show, it took me a long time to find out of the other shows he'd composed, and they are also great. But here I am, 5 years later, and I have learnt Theishter's arrangemeny for "Krone" on the piano, and am currently challenging myself to go above and beyond with Animenz's "The Everlasting Guilty Crown", a big step up from the difficulty of everything else I've done up until this point, and I plan to perform it at a very special event next year. In a way, the music of GC has been the start of my journey, and I wish that people such as Ryo and Hiroyuki Sawano had more credit, but I hope that the knowledge of how their music has changed at least one life is proof enough to them how much they are valued. Thank you all for starting my journey, I hope at its end, I'll have started someone else the way you have for me.

Guilty Crown may not have been a perfect anime but it sure had the perfect soundtrack. That was the first time I heard Sawano-san's music and the first time I actively listened to anime's entire soundtrack and not just the OP and ED.

Guilty Crown may not have been a perfect anime but it sure had the perfect soundtrack. That was the first time I heard Sawano-san's music and the first time I actively listened to anime's entire soundtrack and not just the OP and ED.
