  • Here we have Kev showing you this fantastically versatile Yamaha Pacifica 311H.
The Yamaha Pacifica guitar has long held its own amongst other brands as a range of great starter and intermediate electric guitars. The Yamaha Pacifica 311H is no different. With the 311H, Yamaha have bought a touch more originality to the Pacifica range by combining the straight-edged Pacifica body shape with a more vintage look which in the case of this natural satin model consists of a tortoiseshell pickguard, cream-covered P-90 pickup and chrome humbucker, and discreet chrome volume and tone knobs.
Functionally, the Pacifica 311H does not disappoint with the Humbucker / P90 combo offering a great range of vintage and modern pop and rock sounds with the help of a coil split, and high quality hardware including Tusq nut, Grover locking tuners, rosewood fretboard and maple neck completing this workhorse guitar.
“Although displayed, this guitar is in perfect condition with no scratches, dints or marks. It sounds great with many tone variations, and plays really well.” Kev Atherton - Rimmers Music

I have this guitar. This is one of the best guitars I have. Neck radius is sweet, pickups are great and locking tuners... I love them. I have only two problems with this guitar - wood is very soft in "natural" version so after couple of months it is beatup more than my 5+ years old strat. Second problem is neck width - I have big hands and neck feels small. But other than that - this is my favourite guitar.

The sound of that P90 in the neck position is fantastic Michal. I love it!

For the money, this guitar is phenomenal. Tones of both G&B pickups are versatile and pleasing. My singular criticism is the coil split. The medium output of the PAF like humbucker is insufficient to cope with it being split to single coil so that it sounds super thin and weak. As a humbucker it's fine and its tone is superior to that of the humbucker in the 112V. The P90 is truly good. Better than the Seymour Duncan one in the 611H IMPE&O. Overall the BQ of the guitar is fabulous & the Graph Tech & Grover custom hardware fitout impressive.

I got the same guitar too. My only issue is that the high E string has so much less volume than all the other strings. I tried to adjust the pickup height of the p90. It got a little better but still not on par with all the other strings.
    Any suggestions?
