I've seen these wiggly, bumpy type bases to clean brushes on in the drugstores, even in Tk.maxx...or you can try the DIY one with a glue gun making wiggly patterns 😉

Two For Joy Spirit I actually made one with the hot glue gun and a plastic clip board and it works great. The clipboard was $1.00 and I got a pack of glue sticks for $2.00. I just pulled up a pattern and made it from it.

My powder was looking terrible until I figured out I needed to switch to a less dense, fluffier brush. I thought it was the powder & was getting frustrated! I have nice IT Cosmetics & Sephora brushes, but I've been using my smaller Real Techniques face brushes & couple I picked up from Elf just to see if the brush type made a difference (less dense & full) before dropping big bucks. I've been very pleased with these less expensive options, & switching to fluffier brushes made such a difference in how my powder products apply. If you aren't getting good results, try a different tool before abandoning a cosmetic altogether. Application techniques really can change your results! And there are options for every budget :)

I'm like a deer in headlights when I look at brushes. I have a ton, now I know how to use them and what they are for,

When I first started buying proper brushes, Sephora had the IT face brush set on sale 50% off. I missed out and was so bummed! I was using Sigma and Zoeva brushes at the time. I've since bought Wayne Goss's 2nd edition Eye Set and OMG 😱 never felt such softness. Bought a few of his singles too. The 2017 Holiday Edition is the ultimate highlight brush imo. Impossible to overdo it with that brush. I bought another of his for tightlining. It's the tiniest thing you've ever seen. It's so freaking cute.. Lol xxx

Great video. I think my favorite brushes I use 99% of the time are by It Cosmetics. They are the softest, cruelty free, perform great and wash up nicely. What are your thoughts on that brand? Luvs ❤

Hi there! The #91 powder brush looks a bit big for a small face. Could you please suggest a good powder brush for a small oval face. Or would you still suggest the #91??

I'm trying to get my eyebrows like yours! When I was a teenager thin almost bare eyebrows were in so I'm patiently growing mine out. 😳
Hooded and small eyes. Hard to find a brush to do the lid and don't get me started on the crease brush.
B. Denton Zabrena did a review on the new Maybelline brushes. One was the New York FaceStudio shadow brush 140 *maybe* the way it's designed may be worth checking out...not that I know much. 😉 But that's what came to mind ☺

How do you feel about fan brushes for highlighting and setting under eyes?
Heather Elzinga I actually love a fan brush for highlighter but not setting under they eye. You can't pat with a fan brush which is the best application for that area xo
Elle Leary Artistry thanks for answering! What would be your recommended under eye setting powder application for more mature eyes? I find pretty much every powder makes me look older (drier, accentuates lines, etc). If I don't set, everything falls apart even with setting spray. Please help! :)
Oh! I love brushes. I don't know why; maybe because my mom was a painter and this is as close to I get to being a painter! Did you mention a foundation brush? (Maybe I had a brain fart!)

I've heard positive things about Sigma brushes & sponges. Supposedly good, workhorse brushes ( if it suits your needs)
Next- affordable brushes $40.00 brush on a teachers salary... nope

I've been really happy with Real Techniques brushes & sponges. They even come in sets. You can get them at Walmart, Ulta or from Amazon. All available online & have tutorials. Be aware they have recently come out with "deluxe" more expensive brushes, but I'm not talking about those, just their basic sets
Thank you so much for responding to my comment. I know nothing about brushes. Soooo, I would buy what is shown. Just can't justify the expense.
