I wonder what a post WWI Germany that doesn't fall into this morass could've been like? Where are the junctures where the dark future could've been avoided? I know the Communists and the Nazis were fighting in the streets with each other -- that makes the news (and Time Ghost) but I would guess that the vast majority of Germans wanted nothing to do with either. History is not just entertainment, it's also instructive. There were a lot of very positive things happening in Weimar Germany. One thing I've learned from history is that the most aggressive, well funded, violent faction will often seize power, followed by a brief period of faked success, ending inevitably in failure or costly disaster.

We also shouldn't forget that this is by far not the only or first minority government by central parties tolerated by the SPD. Rather, that was the norm throughout most of the Weimar Republic. It was not a particularly stable arrangement, but hardly revolutionary or unheard-of.

On the other hand some conservative upper class gamblers thought that they could control Hitler and the Nazis and use them for their own interests. Yes. From all I read it is brilliant. Unfortunately for me, not available (and I won't pay for an extra service...). Well, at least Season 1 is available for free on US Prime right now.

Awww man. It's just depressing how few people know this part of history well, and how they fail to see so many of the same patterns today... It's rather frightening how familiar this all feels, isn't it?
Bravo for shining light on what I believe is the most important part if history: How a democracy falls.

This series in its current form unfortunately can only go until somewhere in 1933 because the Nazis clamp down heavily on the free press, but we are going to cover the events until 1939, although in a slightly different format!

By setting the _f_ stop (inverse relative aperture) of the lens high. The _f_ stop control the depth of field, and the higher it is, the more light enters the lens and the deeper of field of depth.
