I would be careful about how you want to run this, having a large group of people decide everyone else needs to pay them a tax or they are going against the council, and then getting all those people to then target and fight those people who just wanna play their own way for not conforming, sounds toxic from the get go and could very quickly turn to bullying if you keep punishing players for not playing how you want them to. You need to make sure the people you “black spot” are on board with what your doing or this could just stop them from playing the game if they are constantly being attacked for no good reason

Ever since Sea of Thieves came out, I was reminded of the immense political and social structure in a game I used to play called Puzzle Pirates. A puzzle game that was itself, very goofy and simple to play but when you learned that Flags(basically multiple crews under one flag) could rule islands and create shops which skyrocketed their income. It created a very dynamic and cutthroat political network on the seven seas. A Game of Ships, so to speak. This sounds amazing!
Puzzle pirates was insane for a puzzle game. Everything was either made by or owned by another player. Everything. Even the taverns had paintings of the players who owned them.
I had so many hours in Puzzle Pirates. I wasn't a huge fan of the puzzles but I grinded them well enough I could get my own ship and joined a nice crew, was an officer, etc. Great times doing blockades and I miss the community. Nothing has really filled that void since.
"Any laws are possible" "It doesn't need to be aggressive" "Nothing toxic of course" You're my favorite SoT PvP channel but you have way too much faith in this community.
The council idea itself is much. He's being a dictator and starting an empire not a guild. Imagine people told to pay taxes or have ships blockade a outpost. Who wants to deal with that bullshit?
There’s always a counter community 🤔 think this is what he means by it will engage players differently some people might be up for this other’s might want to create counter community’s with branches ect got me thinking ….
about the black spot yea I already have friends that are on the hit lists of cheaters and you basically want to do that same thing just without cheats yea I mean we will just sink you but I still don't think its a good idea to have some thousands of people (if it goes well) hunting down a dozen or so guys that you have a personal vendetta against I also think it won't take off with these larping/ milsim type rules
I doubt this will end well as most people won't know about it and you can't control the people. How does blurb make sure that his council enforcer aren't toxic and instantly sink any newbie who is breaking the law? If anyone annoys me with this non sense on the sea i will sink and spawn camp the Person so hard that he will uninstall the game
You wont be bringing new players to the game, you'll be keeping them away and making veteran players leave! It's not a guild! It's a DICTATORSHIP! The fact you want to literally take over servers and force people to bend to your will is no guild but an Empire. Also a bit egotistical for wanting to make headlines, just sounds like you want to draw attention to yourself and get free publicity. But the fact you're gonna do aggressive laws and make players enforce them is going WAY too far. I thought flameheart and his reapers were the worst but from the sound of it you'd be putting them to shame. Reapers are toxic and take their faction too seriously but your empire will be worse. You have high expectations if you think people will calmly enforce your little laws. They'll be toxic about it im positive of that. Blockade outposts? Force taxes? Deny world events? That is just too much and those were just your suggestions! No one wants to be bullied like that! Why punish people for playing the game? Why deny people access to an outpost? Why force people to pay taxes? Protect world events?!?! That's just annoying!!! You'll make people want to stop playing cause they dont want to deal with people punishing them for playing the game. Why wants to get a black spot and be chased by servers they join? That's only fun for the chasers. It's basically bounties on GTA 5 online. Cant join a game without people trying to kill you constantly and wont stop until you die basically denying gameplay for the man being hunted. I would know, I had it happened and being the one with the bounty and chased by players for free money is annoying, I was a new player so I wasnt experienced and I had to quit the game just to avoid it. That's what you'll be doing to people. Marking them for death cause they did something you don't approve. I dont want to be forced to give up my treasure as a tax. Being sunk by pirates or targeted then told to kill myself as I sink is one thing but having ships demand tribute is just not fun. I got reapers and pirates to worry about, I dont need some empire enforcers forcing me to give up my stuff. I want to be able to sell, not worry about a ship blockade. I want to do PVE but I can't cause some jackass decided to deny a specific world event because the empires law said so. New players wont come to the game, they'll just see that as annoying and will only give them a reason NOT to play. Meanwhile people in the game already will just find your empire annoying. Will they fight back? Yeah not everyone will tolerate your empires bullshit and will just leave instead of dealing with it and either look for a server that doesnt have an enforcer in it or just stop playing for the day in general. Your Empire (not a guild) will only do more harm than good. Roleplaying in sea of thieves is fun and all but if you're gonna basically be the East India trading company of the sea of thieves it'll just get on peoples nerves. No one plays to be forced to do what another random players made up council tells them to do. You'll get on peoples nerves and just be a giant pain in the ass. You'll make headlines alright, but for basically shutting down servers with your enforcements and causing bad chaos. The outrage your empire causes will definately make headlines for being a huge pain in the ass for players just trying to have fun. Know this. If I must I am more than happy to start a rebellion. I will not hesitate to declare war on your little "council". The sea of thieves is a free place for all pirates and I won't let you and your empire ruin it for everyone.
Team work? Orderly structure? Sailing together for a common goal? Not sinking everyone on site for all there loot? you guys aren't reapers your Athenas! wait taxing players instead of blowing them up for all there loot your not Athenas or pirates your the Grand Maritime Union in Reaper garb your everything Flame Heart hates and wants to burn to ash
"Nothing toxic of course." Lol. There is no way to effectively enact this in game. I sail in a party and will have no idea what rules your random guild will be enforcing. I don't use Discord much either. Also, I have a job and would never be available in the middle of the day on a Wednesday. Sounds like you want to make a naval game and apply government policies. The only true pirates will be the ones ignoring this completely. The pirate code: it's more of a guideline really.
Tried joining the Council today. Couldn’t stand the people I spoke with. It’s a shame because this is a cool idea, but if it’s filled with people like that it wouldn’t be fun. Guess the community is like Rare, they don’t give a shit.
I love Blurbs content, don't get me wrong but the prospect of joining a large conglomerate of pirates while not expressing my own crew's individuality of ship name and Guild name to me seems less fun. The chaos of the diversity of pirates at the meeting of pirate lords in POTC is what made it really interesting and cool to me. I think my crew will stay separate from the large organizations for the sake of individuality. Hope to see the Council on the waves!
This is a good idea on paper, but it feels like this is just a SoT creator using their “clout” to make people bend to them. This just won’t be fun for newer players before December or after finishing safer seas because they don’t want to be told “erm pirate council says give me the loot on your boat or you die” or “erm achtually the pirate council says you got a black spot so sorry we’re gonna have 3 galleys on you now”. No matter how hard anyone tries, this is just a coup of the entire game, the power of a hacker without hacks and only dumb mandates that most SoT players won’t know about until they get sunk from one. Edit: got some extra points, this idea is GREAT without the mandates. The mandates just gatekeep the game and every single mandate can make the game boring.
I hate to rain on everyone's parade here, but we already have rules? The Community Code of Conduct? If you have read it, you would know that: "Repeated activity designed to ruin the experience of another player or crew constitutes harassment." The "Black Spot" idea sounds cool, until someone gets the hammer that is. This isn't Eve Online, lads.
This sounds a lot like someone I don't even know trying to dictate how I enjoy the game. At the end of the day all it really means is potentially more people willing to engage in pvp after I tell them to sod off.
Yeah like blurbs said in a different reply chain that he would inform non members on social media… but not everyone on SoT pays attention to his socials. It just seems like to me the mandates and such are just gatekeeping half the game at a time. I do think a big faction with guild branches would be awesome for being at war with another big faction, but that council sinking fresh spawns at an outpost doing a “blockade” from a mandate or the same council sinking you for even going near the wilds. It’s just really power hungry, has too much faith in the community and it’s kinda self centred as blurbs think the whole game community is up to date with his socials in order to see more mandates.
I don’t see this working. If someone came floating up to me in SoT trying to enforce laws, they’re getting shot. What happened to being pirates? Lawless, plundering, cold blooded pirates.
The pirates life is one free of chains.. be careful not to get yourselves chained by the yoke of this council. Why should we pirate legends obey this council? In the Sea of Thieves, being a pirate is to be free, to make your own choices, to follow no one’s rules but your own! (Begins blockade runs into port Merrick)
Me and around 100 other people have already made identical guilds with the same name, emblem, etc. we just like to do a lot of hourglass PvP and stuff like that, totally not a cult
Can't wait for the inevitable drama after someone perfectly mimics the "Council Enforcer" ships and uses that to incite chaos. "Sorry buddy, it was mandated that I drop kegs from orbit and spawn-camp you at the outpost."
@@amethyst_dawn spawncamping. One of the examples blurbs gave was blockading an outpost. People may spawn there so it’s technically spawncamping anyone who spawns there
@@RhyzVids I'd reckon that's more about preventing selling or sinking fresh spawns, not camping on a boat and killing the crew over and over and over and over again.
Na man. This really fast turns toxic. Black spots are encouraged to just quit playing if they aren’t part of your personal blurbs army, who will always be hunting you. This is a horrible move, and makes a streamer a god that decides on people’s in Game fun and fate. It’s rare’s game, and it’s good. Don’t ruin it with your elitism
Me and the homie will 100% be destroying any ship we see with even close to a name that could be involved in this asinine streamer move. We don’t care about your rules and we don’t care if you’re being peaceful. You run with blurbs little fan club, you get run over.
@@jayfreeman6638 I'm not good enough at PvP to promise a sink on this guys, but I'll give them a good chase and then sail right into the red sea and then switch servers. I guess the best I can do is make them waste their time. lol
@@haswordmaster1497 that’s what matters. Flat out. Waste their time. Big this idea to a halt. Anarchy is the way of sea of Thieves. If you wanna cosplay some pirate government system, stick to the pve servers, flat out. It’s odd to see blurbs even suggest this and kinda disgusting
Good idea but could easily go wrong. Just like MMOs, having big guilds that control everything ruins the game. You either join one of them and do what you are told, or you don’t and get sunk on sight trying to do events because it get camped by the big guilds. I’ll wait and see how guilds truely impact the game. Guild v guild should be fun though.
Even if the idea sounds good. It will juste make people leave. It's juste like you are trying to control the entire game. Not letting people have their own decisions. Blocking a outpost or a region should be able once every mounth. Or players will just leave the game cause they can't even leave their outposts. Same for taxes. Their should be a limit around 65 and 75% of the loot at max. Even if all the idea for roleplay sounds good. If the guilds are limited in numbers, it's I think because they don't want a group of player just leading the game the way they want. Without letting a choice to the rest. And also to stop potential bullying. And even if I have hope. You will probably, never be able to stop toxicity. And it will also give a reason to Pve players to ask rare to remove limits on safer seas. Cause with such a control, they will never be able to play the game. And roleplay wise, it just sounds like a Grand Maritime Union 2.0. But perhaps I'm wrong. And if that's the case, good for you
Not only will toxic players hijack this, why couldn't anyone do this on Atlas a game made to have this stuff. It's a waste of effort to change a game that has base guidelines of playing that no one follows and now you want to make something twice as fictitious and enforce it... I'd rather watch the game die unfortunately than be bullied by a "council" on how I play a decent, beautiful, simple game.
A few issues about the council: The whole point of sea of thieves is being free, without the GMU’s influence Scripted losses won’t exist. Flameheart would be hella dead if he could actually die. I doubt anyone with a sensible mind would help take over the sea of thieves when the whole game is an open world experience. In the unlikely case you actually do “take over” the sea of thieves, you’ll either just get half the playerbase to uninstall or get them all to camp out in Safer Seas Rare still owns the game bruh if they wanna get rid of y’all they will💀
Yeah and also the bounties and mandates just gatekeep certain parts of the game, like an outpost, an event or just killing a guy repeatedly because “the council sent [you]”.
I was recruited from a council person. Sadly, It seems like I am just to be a number for one person's personal gain. The sea of thieves should beware this young empire!
I dont like your idea of a guild at all. No offense but thats not a council. Thats a dictatorship!!! Its an empire instead of a guild. It just sounds like youre gonna bully people into doing what you want. I planned on doiing my own faction but i guess you can call it a guild. But at least im notgonna bully people. My faction will be better than reapers. We do true piracy but we're not toxic, help people but still be a pirate and fight for freedom. Your guild just sounds like you just want to rule the sea of thieves with an iron fist. Make people pay a tax or be sunk???? Enforce rules????? Enforce the rules on other players who arent even in the guild?????? Youre almost as bad as flameheart!!!!! My goal was to attack flameheart and the servants of the flame. But I think im adding your empire to my list of enemies to sink on sight
True, I love his idea of a big faction split into guild branches but forcing every player in the community to follow their rules ruins the adventure of the game, it just seems like he’s hungry for power over others…
@@RhyzVids Yeah it's not right at all. The only reason I joined that council is so I can represent the sea of thieves best interests at heart, to ensure no super harsh laws are passed and try my best to fight against laws that cause problems in the sea of thieves. I represent the servants of the sea's, putting my beliefs into his little politics. I doubt i'll make any progress but as long as I can resist his attempt at gaining power and try to prevent him from gaining any. We already have flameheart to deal with and his toxic reapers. We don't need his empire causing problems too. Im prepared to get guilds to join and fight back if I must. Then there'll be two wars going on in the sea of thieves
@@RhyzVids im not going to be corrupt...I planned on voting against laws like making people pay a tax for being in a certain region or whatever. but turns out to get into the council branch you got to meet alot of demands and im not gonna throw away a guild slot and my dignity and beliefs just to name a single ship council enforcer and make a council guild. So sadly I cant go through with my plan. I guess all I can do is rebel against his empire
This is a really good idea, and I can't wait for the pirate council to rule the seas! I think it would be good to make more customization within the pirate council, for example guild prefixes or certain ship types that represented a sort of sub-guild rather than the pirate council ships being the exact same every single time.
Going to be honest, not reaoly vibing it. More power to the people who di, but this just seems like an alliance setver thats just bigger. You just know the people in charge are gonna turn into power tripping discord mods. If this becomes an official thing and not fan made concept though it has potential to be interesting
EXACTLY. this is just not gonna work either. Blurbs has said in other replies that he will inform non members on twitter, but that’s unrealistic. He has 84k subs, even less twitter followers. The entire idea relies on people acting like slaves and doing these chore-like jobs to enforce rules. This doesn’t give power to the people this just gives power to Blurbs and a small group of players who don’t know how to debate (even smaller considering how unlikely it is for people to dedicate themselves to this). I love the idea of a huge faction spanning many guilds at war with one another but that same faction gatekeeping half the game in ridiculous “mandates”? No. It just seems as though Blurbs thinks that every SoT players knows him and is willing to waste their time playing how he wants them to like a cult. The entire idea is based on narcissism. TL;DR - Blurbs has too small an audience to make this possible, the work ethic of SoT players is unreliable and the idea is less benevolent and more power-hungry content creator.
I dont mean any harm with this comment but this idea is really bad. Having a group of players try and control the sandbox of an open world mmo and enact rules and regulations that not every player are going to be able to understand or let alone access is going to cause a lot of issues later down the line. If the weekly rules are small and inconsequential such as "the wilds have become a pvp on sight zone" then yeah that can be fun for those getting involved. But things like blockading outposts, protecting ashen lords, and enacting taxes can ruin the fun and open world nature of sea of thieves. Especially with the idea of placing a "black spot" on guilds seen as a threat to the pirate council. I can foresee that developing really toxic behavior, especially if the guild itself is relatively small in comparison to the council. I totally understand and appreciate the movement of "encouraging pirate roleplay" out on the seas, i think that idea alone is a really good motivator for this. A lot of xbox players can use a bit of fun and whimsy in their lives. But I've seen this exact movement happen in a lot of multiplayer online games, it quickly turns from a joyful fun time, to encouraging bad behavior amongst the community. Again I dont mean to sound like I'm just shitting on the idea, I can tell by the comments alone that a lot of players are into something like this. And taking the time to organize things like weekly council meetings takes a lot of effort and thought that I can appreciate. But if the council blows up like you're trying to encourage, it can get harder and harder to manage and really hurt the already arguably shaky game health of SOT. I know that this is "funny pirate game" but this sounds less like "piracy" and more like striving to set up an empire. Which takes a lot of fun out of the game, and sometimes makes things harder for newer/ inexperienced players.
EXACTLY BRO. This just seems like he had the great idea for a big faction split into guild branches but ruined it with these narcissistic and power-hungry mandates that he assumes everyone in the SoT player base will know of.
Concept not bad but I will tell you things will get out of hand very quick and you could be branded as bullies let's face it people love to complain but I wish you luck
Skol will not stand for this. Place thy black spot if ye wish but Skol bows to no overlords. It is war... Loose Lips sails at the head of The Skol Fleet
Not a fan of your council idea sorry. Either it’s not going to have enough dedicated players to have a significant impact or it will and its going to get out of control fast.
I'm usually more on the side of the Pirate Lord because I love the Sea of Thieves the way it is. However, I love the way that Flameheart and Blurbs stir the pot, and I feel like pirates get away with too much. With the introduction of Safer Seas, I have fewer reservations about sewing chaos in the High Seas. I will be joining the discord and looking forward to the see this guild making waves.
This isn't the way to do it. Just because there's safer sea's doesnt mean pirates are getting away with too much. I mean look at the latest updates. People cant escape into the red sea anymore to deny loot. Now you can see reaper chest beacons no matter what so you dont have to rely on the map to see where they're going and you know where the chest is at all times. This guys Empire (not a guild) is too much. Forcing players to bend to their wills and follow their rules is just too much. If I join a server and some council jackass is sailing around demanding a tax just for playing the game or blocks me from going to an outpost is just no. A big no no. It's toxic. If this happens I will be made to quit the game cause I dont want to deal with this crap. His Empire will do more harm than good
@keybladegamea_real 😮 It's roleplay it makes for interesting and engaging encounters, when I first started playing I used to run and hide. Little by little I practice and sure it wasn't easy but I still tried PvP. Finally I was able to defend myself better, when doing world events alone before the easy scaled event Patch. Of course I would still get sunk here and there because there are always going to be better pirates. If you don't like then make an opposing Guild against his, because right now you are giving no context except that you just don't like and You think it's toxic and You will quit because You don't like it. Bring more constructive criticism to the table instead of I don't like it and that's all I have to say, also he even mentioned helping new players as an option.
@@keybladegames_real I get it, and you might not be wrong calling it an empire. But Blurbs loves the game, so I don't think he will let anything happen that will hurt the community. I will also be out if I start to feel bad about it. When I said that pirates get away with too much, I wasn't talking about Safer Seas. I was talking about how most players leave everyone else alone. I have been consistently doing Veil of the Ancient voyages and making a ton of gold with no one challenging me. It's too easy. Sorry that that wasn't clear. And you're right that there are other solutions to that. I have started opting-in to hourglass PvP whenever I do an Athena voyage and that has helped me be proud of my treasure again.
@@theodoric4270 I think you're just lucky cause people still attempt to rob people. Well, i guess solo slooping is dead now. If this turns out the way it seems, im going to have to quit playing. You have absolutely no call to dictate how other people play a game they bought and paid for! If this only applies to members of guilds who have joined this idea, then fine; but if i find myself being harassed by your so-called enforcers for just playing the game as I SEE FIT, im going to have to quit and curse the sea of thieves comunity for officially ruining ome of my favorite games. Thanks guys! This opens the door to the making this game the most toxic out there and will drive even more players into safer seas than what we thought possible. We may have to start reporting any enforcers or "black spot" hunters or whatever you call them for harassment because that is precisely what this is dir those who don't wish to participate. For example, if im hunting an ashen lord and an enforcer shows up to stop me just because other players decided that there will be no hunting ashen lords, that's not playing the game, that is harassment, and you should be reported for it.

Just saw another guy say this, black spots should be used for high-ranking officials of another multi-guild faction at war with the council, not on random people. And the other mandates will just gatekeep the game if not restricted to just council members, let alone how many people won’t bother with trying to enforce the mandates.
I like his idea, but only for people who want to participate. It really sounds like a lot of fun, but there are players like me who either play solo or, on a rare occasion, play with one other person. It's difficult enough to be a solo slooper facing off against crews up to four times your size, but to have an entire EMPIRE against you...yeah, it's just an impossible situation.
This is a unique response to what you may be seeing in the game's future. I wish you luck with keeping members from being toxic over PVP-related stuff, especially when the Black Spots are thrown into the mix. I imagine you've taken that into account though. To those who hate being attacked in the game: you just have to exist in the game to be a valid PvP target. That's literally how PvP works. You WILL be attacked in the High Seas! What matters is what people do when they attack you. Getting sunk and killed = Not toxic. Being spawn camped = Debatable (thanks to scuttling and changing seas) Racist/Sexist Insults being thrown at you as you sink = toxic. Quickswapping = An exploit, but not toxic. Yeah, I know. But, we have worst shit to deal with than a learnable exploit that was going to be fixed eventually. Skilled players don't even need it to kicked pirate ass.

The council idea itself is much. He's being a dictator and starting an empire not a guild. Imagine people told to pay taxes or have ships blockade a outpost. Who wants to deal with that bullshit?
madlads be like: "we're banning the use of blunderbuss for an entire week"
How many other lies have I been told by the council?
Personally I'm not a fan of the idea of players controlling wut we can do on a server
True,
There’s always a counter community 🤔 think this is what he means by it will engage players differently some people might be up for this other’s might want to create counter community’s with branches ect got me thinking ….
I Hope you will make a video of the weekly rule the council makes; also recording the council meeting would be really cool to see.
It'll be streamed!
id like when it also would be put in video format on youtube. i think way more people would pick it up@@Blurbs
Love this idea. But I’ll probably go against the council just for fun. There’s no fun if there’s no enemies to fight 🤷🏻♂️
Aye, where can i sign in?
This sounds so amazing and I can only imagine how other guilds will try to mess with this
about the black spot yea
I already have friends that are on the hit lists of cheaters
and you basically want to do that same thing just without cheats yea
I mean we will just sink you
but I still don't think its a good idea to have some thousands of people (if it goes well) hunting down a dozen or so guys that you have a personal vendetta against
I also think it won't take off with these larping/ milsim type rules
Exactly my point about the bounties.
Kinda cringe ngl, this is probably just gonna end up with some guilds growing power hungry and taking it too seriously, just seems rife for drama.
Blurbs is really out here forming the Brethren Court from Pirates of the Caribbean in Sea of Thieves 💀
More of an grand marine time union
It's more like a Royal Navy than anything else.
Idea for one of the tasks: donate 5 chests to the arena tavern so that we as a community can get arena back in the game
Well said!!
Team work? Orderly structure? Sailing together for a common goal? Not sinking everyone on site for all there loot?
you guys aren't reapers your Athenas!
wait taxing players instead of blowing them up for all there loot
your not Athenas or pirates your the Grand Maritime Union in Reaper garb your everything Flame Heart hates and wants to burn to ash
My apologies Blurbs, but the sea should have no governing body. It should be untamed! LONG LIVE CHAOS!
Great idea. I will definitely participate. I encourage others to do so as well. The community aspect really drives this game.
Tried joining the Council today. Couldn’t stand the people I spoke with. It’s a shame because this is a cool idea, but if it’s filled with people like that it wouldn’t be fun. Guess the community is like Rare, they don’t give a shit.
Meets at 2PM on Wednesdays 😅
Anyone with a non-streamer job or school: I have a conflict
I love Blurbs content, don't get me wrong but the prospect of joining a large conglomerate of pirates while not expressing my own crew's individuality of ship name and Guild name to me seems less fun. The chaos of the diversity of pirates at the meeting of pirate lords in POTC is what made it really interesting and cool to me. I think my crew will stay separate from the large organizations for the sake of individuality. Hope to see the Council on the waves!
That’s the same way I feel, I’m not another follower I’m a Captain, I want to lead my own clan to victory not some other guy’s
Think about this, you're sailing under him in a pirate fleet, you don't go unique to avoid being mistaken for an enemy
Yep. I don't know just who these people think they are.
@@haswordmaster1497 I don’t either tbh
(Begins blockade runs into port Merrick)
this guilds thing is already looking like a bad idea
Me and around 100 other people have already made identical guilds with the same name, emblem, etc. we just like to do a lot of hourglass PvP and stuff like that, totally not a cult
Plague Pirates. Remember that name Blurbs. Cause my fleet is gonna sink every single one of your Enforcers.
Named my alliance The Rebel Council. Cant wait to become the Council's nemesis hehe
Can't wait for the inevitable drama after someone perfectly mimics the "Council Enforcer" ships and uses that to incite chaos.
"Sorry buddy, it was mandated that I drop kegs from orbit and spawn-camp you at the outpost."
I find it funny how that last fake mandate you mentioned in your original comment was actually a suggestion from Blurbs for ideas.
@@RhyzVids Do you mean spawncamping or sinking a fresh spawn? Those are two very different things.
@@amethyst_dawn I see what you mean I get you now, sorry for the misunderstanding bro
I usually go lone wolf on stuff like this but sounds like a cool idea for the Sea of Thieves.
This will be hijacked by toxic players immediately
Good idea but could easily go wrong. Just like MMOs, having big guilds that control everything ruins the game. You either join one of them and do what you are told, or you don’t and get sunk on sight trying to do events because it get camped by the big guilds. I’ll wait and see how guilds truely impact the game. Guild v guild should be fun though.
The black spot sounds much more appealing to me. I'd rather fight the whole server than bend the knee.
lol its a cool concept but its not gonna work for a number of reasons
I think this is a great idea on how to drive away from the game new players or anyone that has no interest in your guild.
And if that's the case, good for you
Guild politics... You're reminding me of Eve... If guilds were anything like that then 100% I would buy all my friends the game
bro heard the word pirate and said, “It’s time for politics and rules rules rules.”
Aw yep.
A few issues about the council:
The whole point of sea of thieves is being free, without the GMU’s influence
Scripted losses won’t exist. Flameheart would be hella dead if he could actually die. I doubt anyone with a sensible mind would help take over the sea of thieves when the whole game is an open world experience.
In the unlikely case you actually do “take over” the sea of thieves, you’ll either just get half the playerbase to uninstall or get them all to camp out in Safer Seas
Rare still owns the game bruh if they wanna get rid of y’all they will💀
Yeah and also the bounties and mandates just gatekeep certain parts of the game, like an outpost, an event or just killing a guy repeatedly because “the council sent [you]”.
Yeah, if this gets out of hand, I hope Rare bans the whole lot of them. This could very well be the beginning of the end for the Sea of Thieves.
My one goal only is to raise hell among the Council
4:03 YEAH OK😂
This is quickly gonna lead to power tripping
yep.
I was recruited from a council person. Sadly, It seems like I am just to be a number for one person's personal gain.
The sea of thieves should beware this young empire!
Oh boy! Another faction for my pirate to fight against! This sounds like fun. Good luck with your council
Pirate council has approved killing 8 year olds with no mercy, spawn camping, and racial slurs, since it's a pirate game lol
@@keybladegames_real ah yes, I knew there would be corrupt politicians. You should charge treasure for certain mandates 😉
I may be young an inexperienced, but I'll vie for one of those pirate lord slots the best I can
So you need the skelly curse to vote on the council? That doesn’t seem very accessible to a lot of the player base.
what if i would like to join the vote although i dont have access to the "reapers basement" , does that mean i cant join the vote?
What a sick idea, and imagine if other guilds did something similar. There could be huge guild wars based on the counsel rules for either guild
YES!
I’m gunning to get my guild a black spot. Our guilds combined HG levels are 60,000 plus! Let’s see how tough the council really is.
Not a big fan of it as i can see a lot of issues with abuse of power especially with how this game is but okay
Hey Blurbs, are you hoping other content creators or individuals create their own Councils as well?
A pirate bureaucracy? Your ships are going on the "sink on sight" list;)
Concept not bad but I will tell you things will get out of hand very quick and you could be branded as bullies let's face it people love to complain but I wish you luck
And oh yea pirates do not like being told what to do especially from another guild
Can’t wait to have a bounty set on my head from the council
Skol will not stand for this. Place thy black spot if ye wish but Skol bows to no overlords. It is war... Loose Lips sails at the head of The Skol Fleet
Not a fan of your council idea sorry. Either it’s not going to have enough dedicated players to have a significant impact or it will and its going to get out of control fast.
True.
But since hourglass got added I do get attacked less
Also about the legend of the veil people don't steal from it cause the loot isn't worth it. You get more from a single fort than what you get from the veil so it's not worth the effort
@@kujiasproductions5348 I never said I will quit and im not thinking, I know. Think about it. Being forced to pay taxes? Blocking world events and blocking outposts? No one wants to deal with that crap. People are gonna be punished for playing the game and I doubt people will want to deal with these enforcers forcing them to play a certain way
I would like to propose a universal (always active) rule for a stay of arms on fishermen.
Did you know you can catch fish completely safe at melee island? I caught 60 pondies there, 40 of them were trophies and half of them were brights
It’s free money lol you just got to survive the trip back to a sea post 😅
Respect my brother youre a real pirate
Me and my guild disagree we will personally be a thorn in the councils side. Seems like a pyramid sceme to meee
Uh most comments rather be an anti council then a council..... Sooo uhhh beware The Next Chapter! Also imma be real with you I don't like the idea because it only benefits a select few while everyone else is a mule... No thanks respectfully
YES, YES, YES!!! FINALLY SOMEONE WHO FULLY GETS ME!! 😊
@@RhyzVids I know. This has got me seriously worried. Not only for my own enjoyment of the game, but for the game's health in the future. I have a feeling that this could be the Ides of March for the Sea of Thieves.

Don't quote me on this, but if any of you guys do not want to participate, you could report these people for harassment.
Dude is trying to be Ramsey
Great idea! I would love to break these rule and getting chased by 5 ships for the same guild and having some nice fights, would be very epic
i got banned from it for no reason 💀
The most exciting content I’ve seen in a SoT video in awhile. Might be time to return to the seas!
Being spawn camped = Debatable (thanks to scuttling and changing seas)
Racist/Sexist Insults being thrown at you as you sink = toxic.
Quickswapping = An exploit, but not toxic. Yeah, I know. But, we have worst shit to deal with than a learnable exploit that was going to be fixed eventually. Skilled players don't even need it to kicked pirate ass.

1) I don't play SOT regularly anymore; it's not my main game and I go through many episodes of me not wanting to play it.
And 2) I have social anxiety, specifically in the virtual sense so for the bulk of my gaming career, I've kept my friend groups to a minimum, so idk about group calls, but I'm a texting fiend!
Basically, I wanna do it... but I'm nervous lmfao.
(If I happened to join tho, I would like to endorse my services to a fishing guild if there is one? I just created my own guild "The Gill Consortium" so if there are any people fighting for fisherman, I'll be more inclined to join!)
Proof that "Guilds" are a streamers wet dream.
I'm glad Blurbs is expanding on the idea, but that's because he can. He's working off the platform he built, good for him.
This is an amazing idea, but you should probably reach out to the Sea of Thieves God (i.e. RARE) because should this become a reality "God" will have ultimate veto power here and can leave this idea looking like a little gooey spot on the floor. Seeing this happen would be amazing though and make this game massively enjoyable again!
I can't wait to see what happens. Me and my friends are gonna try and add to this experience by hunting down all pirate council ships we see. Can't wait to earn the black spot!
Let there be a mutiny!
Capitalism incoming, oh god lol....... I will participate definietly! I love to be a part of these groups and just enjoy the idea of it, hope it all works out!
As the rickest rick I'm looking forward to being chased down by the Pirate Council... :D
The Flames of Freedom will not allow you to extinguish the free world of the Sea of Thieves! Those against this "Pirate Lord", unite beside me, and stand with us against them. Spread the word of the Flames of Freedom!
Doing the laws thing would draw hundreds of players away from the game. Like, I am NOT giving up my loot to some random ahh people
