My guild will be named mast as my ship is named boat, so when someone boards my boat they will see “mast” on the mast, “boat” on the boat (ship crest) and guy on boat as the person sailing
i really hope you have dog on your boat as well. maybe monkey or parrot once in a while.

This game will be so much better if they just add more tangible rewards for our effort. Imagine having a hideout where you can build a house with, and add furnitures, decorations, etc..

Thats what I have been saying for years, every time that I mention this everyone gets defensive and they exaggerate what I said, like that I want nuclear bombs in the game or that I want infinite ammo or some stupid shit
Like imagine upgrading your ship, having a bigger kitchen, having hatch to drop keg behin you, having better cannons, getting a fishing net that passively collects fishes and maybe junk like fruits or wood or idk SOMETHING
I love the game but I play It alone because my friends dont like grinding for nothing
Whats the point of grinding or doing anything if It means that no matter how much time or grind you do, there is no difference with a new player, only experience in Battle

@@depressedespresso3928 yeah you just have more experience but whats the point, I mean is cool to grind to collect some skins and titles but making it the whole point is really bad, like wow you spends a billion gold buying a black ship that look like almost similar to the cheapest black one? amazing, no one cares lol
Problem with Guilds is the rewards. Many of them, including the costumes, are locked to the Guild that earned them. They don't belong you they belong to the Guild. If you leave, get booted, or that Guild is disbanded by the owner, then you lose those costumes. And considering you can only belong to three Guilds at a time, choose wisely. Choose one you plan to stick with the rest of your days....unless you don't want to keep the stuff. Some things you can keep are some of the pictures and the sails if you get that far. But the Chef's costume everyone wanted? Nope, not yours to keep. Just a role play outfit of that particular Guild. And it's dumb. Who wants to grind that hard for unlocks you can't even keep?
Thats why you should be guilded with solid people you know wont leave or disband the guild.

I hope guilds creates a way for us Solo players to find other online guildies to crew with. A way for us to see who is online and a message and invite button is all we need.
Iv met people playing SOT and added them, but very rarely I find im online with them as I have a strange work schedule and im home when they are at work. A guild is perfect to find other friendlies.

That’s a solid opinion, that no one will really disagree with; however, if we’re looking objectively at how guilds contributes to that philosophy, then we’re still left wanting most of what we look to third parties to provide. We look to discord and Xbox party chat for private vc. We also use discord and Xbox lfc’s to find players with similar experience levels, looking to accomplish similar goals. Neither of these 3rd party needs have not been met in any way, with the addition of guilds.
Right now, the only added interactive feature that guilds offers is an extra menu, that provides the same exact benefits of your friends list. There was already in-game chat and an “invite friends” prompt on the crew creation screen. I agree that the added menu, for guild crew hopping, is certainly a QoL upgrade; however, it is only a very limited and minor one. It should definitely be in the game, as that particular function is in most multiplayer games, but for that to be the ONLY interactive function of joining a guild, as of right now, is utterly lacking.
@@draco_cat3298even if we got all of the additions, that the original commenter was talking about, this would NOT pass as content. We’ve had these 3rd party tools for far longer than SoT has existed. If you aren’t using them for practically every multiplayer game you play, then you’re often missing out. If guilds main functions are to offer fundamental features, rather than giving us the option to do things like HG dives with multiple guild crews, or getting to sail on a server with at least one other crew of guild mates, or to have a guild hideout, or SOMETHING that adds literally ANYTHING new and interactive to the game, then it’s a redundant and lame feature.
If you want what the main commenter wants, it’s already available.
@calebnewell5032 to be honest I like this a lot more because I never can friend everyone I meet in game, what with their name censored or whatever.
Thank God you can join multiple guilds. I want to make one with friends but they never play anymore so I'm glad I'll still be able to get the rewards
Sounds like it's limited to 24 people so I can see being in multiple as necessary to ever consistently have anyone to play with, like that's not a very large pool, I've been in guilds with over 100 people that barely 3 or 4 will be online at any given time.
Also limit seems a little low considering its going to force guild leaders to kick out anyone who goes inactive for more than a few weeks to make room

Two small quality of life changes that I found is that you can now pick up items into a collectors chest without and you can repair those colored row boats with a plant of wood!

@@justapotato4231 Funny thing is, I counted and with guilds you will have to go through 9 (yes NINE) different menus from starting the game to actually playing.

Do you get a guild quest/perk when you hit Rank 5 on the guild emissary flag?
(For example, Athena giving an X marks the spot quest that ends with a Chest of Legends, or Reapers being able to see emissary ships on the map).

Did they ever specify which treasure gets a bonus for a guild emissary flag? Does it work like a reaper's flag, with the guild logo marked on the map at all times? Or does the crew get to pick which trading company it boosts?
Since you have to vote up the flag at the sovereigns, it stands to reason all treasure sold to the sovereigns gets the bonus, thats just my assumption though have no clue. We'll find out!
Yeah it is all treasure since it is technically a sovereign emissary, but the bonus isn't as substantial as the reapers

Man I hope they take the distinction for guilds and apply them to the trading companies. Ive been max level for the three main companies and hunters call for over 2 years now. I loved seeing the number of the companies go up and miss seeing them after a big haul
