Just received word that this will be performed on April 19th 2024 by the Baldwin Wallace Symphonic Wind Ensemble. I'll provide a link to the stream if anyone would like to hear it around that time
This is so cool!! Obligatory time stamps: 0:00 Intro & Countdown 0:22 Moo Moo Meadows 1:40 Toads Factory 2:54 Coconut Mall 4:01 Wario’s Gold Mine 5:14 Daisy Circuit 6:26 Koopa Cape 7:20 Maple Tree Way 8:31 Dry Dry Ruins 9:42 Rainbow Road Correct me if I made any mistakes. Both my Mario kart and my music nerd sides are vibing rn :D
And I just came over from the full orchestra version, once again, 10:30 hits so well. And I see you there with the "Bells up!" note for the soaring trumpet line, very well done and I hope the performance of this goes well!
Oh this is beautiful! Super nostalgic, and also inspiring as I sometimes struggle in utilizing wind instruments (specifically woodwinds) in my own compositions. Great job! :)
It's great. I always think there could be a good transition straight from Toad's Factory to Coconut Mall, as in one bar to the next continuing the melody somehow.
Awesome job! Particularly impressed with the choice to include Moo Moo Meadows first - your arrangement of that track really reminds me of Vaughan Williams' Folk Song Suite. Can't wait to hear how it all sounds when performed live!
So well arranged. You should play around with a version where halfway through Rainbow Road you interject with that little final lap motif and speed that mf up 🥶
This is absolutely outstanding! Beautiful arrangement. My only nitpick is that the chords in 431-432 aren't correct to the original, and it takes away a little bit of the feel the original song gave. It still sounds fantastic though!
@VGMBassoon when will this premiere! I want to catch it One comment I would have as a musician myself is go ahead to connect the different music stamps, through the use of tonal movements and not abruptly slow down and then start the next race!
I'd probably rate this a "Grade 5"! A good High School wind ensemble could handle it, but some parts are particularly challenging! In my opinion, Moo Moo Meadows (heavy on woodwinds), Wario's Gold Mine (heavy on woodwinds), and Dry Dry Ruins (heavy on trumpets) are the most difficult and would present the greatest challenge to a high school group. Without those parts, this arrangement is quite a bit more accessible!
Please make one but with the Mario kart 8 music because that was made with the intention of a big full band in mind and I think it could sound great in a wind ensemble
This is really well orchestrated, but the octave leaps in the bass trombone part at 2:26 are practically impossible to play. Jumping across ranges like that on low brass instruments kinda sucks, but especially in that register.
Sounds great, but double check the horn parts from C-H and trombone from I-K, I can't tell from the video but it sounds like they're playing a minor 3rd when it should be major 3rd.
Nice work. At GG, the mute change in the trumpet is not okay. Giving the trumpet more time (or perhaps making the muted part a solo) might be a better option to allow the player to be ready to switch to and from the mute. Same thing at JJ and PP
Yeah! I might have to work some of that out. I tried playing it on my own with my Trumpet and managed to get the mute changes pretty smooth if I put the mute in loosely (obviously that may not be the most ideal), but when it gets performed we'll have two people on each Trumpet part so it won't be hard to just avoid the issue altogether! I loooooove using the sound of muted Trumpet so I tend to use it quite a bit haha

Terrifically splendid! Absolutely smashing, my good man! Indubitably, irrefutably, irresistibly, groovy! Well done!

I was totally jamming to this the whole time! I would be so stoked to play this, beautiful arrangement!

Perfect!!! Would love if you released more pieces for wind bands/ concert bands!!
That's for sure going to happen! I love writing for band!
@@VGMBassoonPerfect! Do you publish your arrangements anywhere so it is possible to buy?
Wow! It really feels like I threw a red shell at an orchestra
YOOOOOOOOO this is HEAT!!!
Technically bowsers castle is in there since a ton of that song is a slowed won and more sinister version of maple tree way
This is very true
I WISH I could ever get to perform something like this
This would be cool to play as a 2 part song for a concert in concert band as my 9th grade band members and myself are really good this would be epic
Very nicely done! Hit me right in the childhood
So well arranged. You should play around with a version where halfway through Rainbow Road you interject with that little final lap motif and speed that mf up 🥶
I was gonna make one myself but looks like I got beat to it. Well done!
I LOVE YOU OMG this looks amazing I haven't even watched it yet I'm about to
Maybe we could collab on a piece somehow. I love mario, minecraft, and composing band music

Yall think this would be to hard for a high school wind ensemble? If not, I’ll suggest this so my band can play it!

Shoot me an email at VGMBassoon@gmail.com and I can see what I can do for you :)
PLEASE RELEASE THIS MUSIC, I HAVE A POWERPOINT TO PRESENT TO MY BD ON THIS PIECE!!!
Where can i buy the score
I swear I hear wrong notes in moo moo meadows. 0:45
Did you use Finale to arrange and playback?
I use Sibelius! And the playback is Noteperformer 4
Will there be any medleys of other Mario Karts perhaps?
Most likely :)
Where can I buy this score and parts?
Eventually, I'll have parts and stuff up in a drive folder
Wait it’s likely being performed in 2024. Who’s performing it?
Baldwin Wallace's Symphonic Wind Ensemble is doing a video game concert in the Spring, so it'll likely be played then!
@@VGMBassoonOh, no way! I've actually visited Baldwin Wallace a couple times, and I had a friend who was in their Wind Ensemble! :)
@@VGMBassoon Can the Eastman Wind Ensemble get some too?
What level of music is this?
