Unpopular opinion: Goseiger's opening is one of the best openings in Sentai,

I believe it worked well during the 199 hero battle in the scene where Goranger to Goseiger fight the x-borgs (I forgot their Japanese name)

Did you know Saban wanted to skip Goseiger and go for Gokaiger for Megaforce but ended up being forced to combine both sentais?

Adnan Kasujja Toei prohibited Saban to not skipped Goseiger even thought the producers felt that the show was dull and bland. They wanted to do Gokaiger right after Samurai.

The best thing to come from the Shinkenger / Goseiger crossover has to be the Gokaiger cameo and their episode which explains how they came to be around before their arrival on earth at the start of their season..

The most frustrating experience I've had with Goseiger was watching it and not understanding the hate , not being able to go along with people's opinions. I'll agree the characters are mostly likeable and the drama is actually really Interesting it's sad the actors were Retired , Koichi Sakamoto is my favourite Writer in Toku and I hands down hated Toshiki Inoue Since he ruined Hibiki.
I actually like the Super Goseiger mode, it reminds me of the Magiranger Legend mode.

I actually really enjoyed Goseiger. It started out rather slow but with the second arc, the storytelling got pretty good imo and the villains who came off as pretty random at first actually made perfect sense in the end due to one of the best evil masterminds I’ve ever seen.

Oh I don't know, when I watched the series I found it far more enjoyable than Megafarce. The heroes were likeable, the villains were badass, there was a great overall positive message about helping others simply cuz its the right thing to do. The red ranger isn't loud and obnoxious. The team up special with Shinkenger was awesome. And there is some good foreshadowing planted pretty early in the show regarding the nature of the Buredoran.
Bobby Shaddoe Yeah, Gosei knight was badass. And Robo knight was the single best character in megaforce (in terms of personality and character development.)

Let's be fair to Goseiger and Gokaiger. Both are really enjoyable shows in their own right that could have been adapted better. The problem being that Tzachor and company just didn't give a shit and it seemed like no one behind the scenes knew what the hell they were doing. Hell Tzachor actively rejected anything even remotely resembling character drama or proper character exploration cuz he thought it was 'boring'
I loved the Mecha designs in Goseiger. I consider them some of the best in the franchise.

the villains named after movie titles is a nice touch, shame it's wasted on this series, also the mechs being floating heads are based on some depiction of cherubim angels which are heads with wings.
Agreed, but like I said, that was the highlight of the show. Trying to guess what movie was being referenced was quite fun.

If Takato in Digimon Tamers can create Guilmon with a colored pencil drawing then using crayons to create a gosei card isn’t out of the question.

I'd say Turboranger had more meddling than Fiveman. Fiveman was just Soda on autopilot.
It was not the first time that Toei executives were meddling with the Super Sentai Series.
Liveman was not supposed to have 4th & 5th rangers (Black Bison & Green Sai), more individual mechas (Bison Liner & Sai Fire = Live Boxer), and a super combination mecha (Super Live Robo). They were introduced to increase toy sales. Black Bison & Green Sai lacked character development because they were introduced too late in Liveman.
Ohranger was purposely made to have a dark, serious tone. In 1995, a terrorist attack (Tokyo Subway sarin gas attack) and an earthquake (Great Hanshin Earthquake) occurred in Japan after the first few episodes. Toei executives changed the dark, serious tone into a mix of dark and comical tone. The comical tone was considered insulting to most Japanese people at the time. The ratings had dropped significantly. However, high toy sales had prevented the Super Sentai Series from being cancelled.

No I did not because I haven't watched Dekaranger since it initially concluded in 2005.
I wouldnt say played. Cuz what did he do? He showed up, got blasted, smiled up at Hyde, and died, and didn't say a goddamn thing. No flashback scenes of him and Hyde together being friends and training together, nothing. It was a glorified cameo that wasted the man's talents.
Even some Sentai from the 80's are better than this one.
Examples:
ChangeMan (because of some of the villains)
FlashMan (best sentai from the 80's)

To be fair to Goseiger, I actually really enjoyed it, there was a lot to like about this show honestly. I wish more had been done with Gosei Green or maybe connected Gosei Green to GoseiKnight, but I loved the characters and the villains.
Nothing wrong with that. I couldn't even finish it a decade ago when it first aired, so I was surprised that I actually somewhat enjoyed what I watched this time around as I used to think it was worse than Go-Onger and now that has been reversed.

Carranger is amazing. The problem with Go-Onger is they wanted comedy, but they tried to play it seriously at the same time as those slapstick moments. At least when Carranger had a serious moment, it was legitimately trying to be serious.
@@TokuAndAnimationNewsNetwork exactly, it was done naturally. The humor was never forced and was legit funny, which made the dramatic moments really work all the more.
I hate forced humor, that's the worst sort of humor, and what makes it worse is usually when the writing is not thought out properly and the acting doesn't work to sell it properly either. I also hate executive meddling. Cuz that usually turns great ideas into hot garbage.
I heard somewhere that Gosei green was suppose to be part of the main team as the original plan was to let 3 tribe fight each other, something similar to Gransazer.
That's what someone else said, but I've never seen any true confirmation on that via Toei.

I think the whole point was the card thing was to sell merch which is what sentai seems to be now all about the merch

Kinda curious, how would you compare Gosei Red with the Red Ranger from Megaforce?
I only watched the first episode to MF and the finale to SMF, so I can't really say. I didn't like the MF red in the small scenes I did see him in though.

At this point, unless it is a currently airing show, anything I watch that I haven't already reviewed is being watched to review. :-) As for Zi-O, we stopped watching it after 4 episodes, so that tells you how enamored I was with it.
I think both seasons of Megaforce proved that this season and Gokaiger were, as Kamen Rider Build would phrase it, definitely NOT a "best match."

Each one of the angle pairs have different kinds of relationships. with Alata and eri having a platonic bond agri and monie have a familial relationship.
But Hyde and magis have a relationship that always felt different from the rest
It always reminds me of Perl and rose in Steven universe were one is incapable of moving on but in this case it is different as magis sacrificed himself for Hyde

I liked this show honestly and I rather take basic and generic then a failure (hint Megaforce). I kind of relate to Agri since I take things personal as well. The thing about final fight with Robogog, that kind of was a desperate times situation since they had to do something to get their powers back.
The problem with them getting their powers back was that they had only been taken away for like 2 minutes. It should have been a full episode, but then, the Mantrintis arc was just a complete rush job.
To rushed if you asked me. I liked the fights. But disappointed with how the episodes played out in the arc
I just finished Goseiger today. My list of favorite episodes now include the final eight episodes of the series and most of the endgame/finale arc is indeed, well, epic and that Bladerun/Brajil is indeed a great villain for this series and yes, I'm going by his name(s) was spelled by the MillionFold Curiosity subs. Well, I'll be the first to admit that I started Goseiger with very little expectations and I would, at the very least, like this show's sixth ranger. Ended up being surprised how good or at least enjoyable the episodes I just mentioned here and my last comment are as well as loving Gosei Knight far more than I thought I would. The English subs themselves that I ended up watching really helps my own enjoyment greatly despite how very flawed the series itself is. Easily better than TV-Nihon's, bar none.
Pronouncing it as Bladerun to me sounds way cooler, but I tend to also just call him Bladerunner. :-)
@@TokuAndAnimationNewsNetwork Goseiger is actually very underrated if you think about it , the series itself has a good mix between seriousness , character development and humour for some episodes , I loved watching Goseiger and it was lighter compared to KR Double which had a different tone. I actually enjoyed Goseiger much more than Double. Double was a little bit too depressing and super boring for me.

You know How I said Zyuohger is gaoranger 2.0 because of the various reasons?
Well. goseiger is magi ranger 2.0 because they use the elements of the earth, they're powers come from heaven and because of the fact that Red and pink use a dragon and Pheonix. And there's also they're power-up is from heaven, just like the magi legend power. Only differences are that there are only six heroes, there's a robot as an extra hero and there's an ultrazord configuration.
Also, magiranger and goseiger should crossover.
I guess I can see that, though, I'd say Goseiger is closer to Gingaman than Magiranger. Rangers are from another land, lose their home, the rangers befriend a child and his dad, they live at a place the child and dad got them, different faction groups for the villains with the first being insects and last ones being robots,
Just imagine the Ozu kids and probably yamazaki's reaction to seeing angels in the house
Also their power rangers versions both ended with he word force honka and eri are much alike the same with kai agri I think some actors are the same gosei knight and isumu metal alse vamcairia

I've recently started watching some of your stuff, and I really like most of it. Regarding your stuff with Super Sentai, I have a couple of questions.
1. I know you're not planning on doing Gokaiger any time in the near future, but what are your earliest thoughts on the show and the heroes?
2. Between Goseiger and Power Rangers Megaforce, which was better? (Probably a dumb question, since while Goseiger wasn't as good as what came before and after it, it was a little better than what we got for Power Rangers.)
And 3. If you could form your own dream team of Rangers from past Sentai teams, who would you pick for your team as far as the main colors that have been used the most for the core teams (red, blue, yellow, green, pink, black and white) go?
1. I really enjoyed Gokaiger a lot. The ranger cast is solid, I love the gimmick of using the abilities from past rangers, and Basco rocks.
2. I only watched the first episode to Megaforce and didn't care for it.
3. Go Red, Kirin Ranger, Ninja Black, Time Pink, Blue Swallow, and Green Racer.
Actually, replace Green Racer with Shishi Ranger.

And I have to admit, the rangers you picked out make quite a really solid team, though I have to point out that if you replace Green Racer with Shishi Ranger, you'd have two characters from Dairanger. Not that it's a bad thing, though.
I know, that's why I originally went with Green Racer and then decided I'd rather go with the one who is going to help the team out as far as winning goes. :-) Technically, I could have just picked the entire Dairanger team since they are my favorite team overall.

You’re definitely right about Goseiger being generic. I do like the major plot revolving around our friend Bladerun of Endless Faces, but to what extent does it do the show justice? Not much.
It could have been better... and like you, I won’t say a disaster, but forgettable is accurate. You do a unique Red in Alata, but besides Hyde, I’m not sure I’ll ever think of Agri or Mourne in a character discussion. Pretty bad when Gosei Knight, your auxiliary character/ally, is a highlight.
Nonetheless, you get a half-baked potato in between a delicious steak and lobster (Shinkenger and Gokaiger) it’s bound to be written off in people’s minds. It was that way then, that way 10 years later.
Yeah, it's kind of just there. I'm just happy I didn't feel like I was in pain every time I watched an episode like I had with Go-Onger.

Here's a question you should ask in your gokaiger review which 5 rangers from Boukenger-goseiger would you like to return if a gokaiger VS super sentai movie like I would say Akashi (bouken red) Retsu (geki blue) Saki (go on yellow) Chaki (shinken green) Eri (gosei pink) please give your answer but it has to be from 2006-2010

There is a bit more to that second in command as he does seem to develop a rivalry with Alata to the point where he was the final member of the original Warstar group and had a final showdown in the last part of the Warstar arc.
While that is true, he doesn't really do much at all.

Haven’t see goseiger yet but will keep your words in mind, also love the suits and goseiger actually has both a opening and ending theme I like which is a rare case for me, gotcha goseiger is actually my favorite ending theme it’s so catchy in my opinion

Given how much of a disappointment MF and SMF were, it got me curious about Goseiger. I wasn't sure about it cuz of the card stuff, but once I looked past it, I found the characters engaging and it had a pretty strong mythos. The villain factions were interesting and I loved how Brajira/Buredoran was the main threat All along. Was it perfect? No. But it had better storytelling planting and payoff than Megaforce. I also liked how the personalities of the rangers coincided with their respective elements. And the team up with Shinkenger was awesome.
I'v eonly seen a few ep of MF and that was enough for me.

@@TokuAndAnimationNewsNetwork Unpopular opinion = Go-busters didn’t reach the same high as its previous Sentai , Gokaiger had but it didn’t go down the same low as Goseiger had. Poor Goseiger it didn't get anything special for it's 10th anniversary , Meanwhile Goseiger still hasn't had a proper Blu-ray release for the series itself despite all of its movies getting one , I can't believe Goseiger didn't get a Blu-ray release for its 10th anniversary back in 2020.
@saiyaujeff8171 I feel the same way. I really enjoyed it when I watched it. I wish the thing with Gosei Green had been more connected to GoseiKnight, I really wish they had more substantial flashback stuff with Magis, cuz you can't just cast DekaGreen in a role that has him die protecting his partner and not even say anything. I know he only appeared in one episode, but for the Warstars, you forgot to mention Targate. Mons Drake clearly stated in the show that he was a general and was meant to replace Dereputa after his supposed "death".
I didn't forget about him, he was just nothing more than a Monster of the Week and I don't think Stargate is anywhere near as memorable as Alien or The Thing.

Well now I wanted to tell you something. Since I've told you once before I'm a Christian guy I first liked this because of that. But around the time that I could find episodes here I was all bummed and mad because Disney cancelled Power Rangers and crapping on it with that even crappier MMPR 2010 version. I prayed once sometime after I saw this and asked that Disney lost Power Rangers. Then sometime after that I heard that Saban bought it back from them and were getting all the old series on DVD and I was happy. So this became one of my favorite seasons because unlike the last one good things happened and I got what I wanted.

Actually no, that's not true at all. Film can be remastered into high definition and beyond, digital can not. Digital can only be upscaled. That's is why every movie made until the 2000s can look phenomenal in 4K while most post-2000s movies hardly look any different.
Just look at the high definition remasters of Gorenger. Those look phenomenal while Kamen Rider Blade looks like ass on Blu-Ray as it was filmed digitally.
The reason Timeranger looks terrible is because they didn't actually do a remaster of it. Same with all of the shows that were coming out on DVD as they were airing. The reason Jetman through Ohranger look good is because they did remaster them from the film prints.

I like it, but it's definitely not my favorite. I have done a top 11 Sentai series video.
As for when I'm reviewing Gokaiger, I plan to start watching it once I get through the next batch of Mill Creek Ultra BDs.

I think this show was done a disfavor by Megaforce because at least goseiger has character development sure it's done in the most generic way possible but at least the goseigers have developedment and at least the characters are likeible

I think that you should always judge something by its own merits instead of comparing it to other things. But, even taking that into account, it really is hard to separate the fact that this is in between two of the most beloved sentais in the franchise.
Kinda like goonger being in the middle of gekiranger and shinkenger, except the main difference is that the humor in this one at least does not make you cringe all the time and is an overall decent series.
But, this was still a crucial stepping stone in order to get to one of the best sentais ever made which makes this one still worth it.
Shame the Megaforce Rangers' counterparts in Sentai have some personality and character than here in the States. No wonder 99% of the Power Rangers fandom hates Megaforce with a burning passion.

Power Rangers Lost Galaxy Fan-Film and they skipped over so many things from this and Gokaiger, while shoving new power-ups for almost every consecutive episode down our throats with virtually no breathing room! So many potential episode plots, monsters, and Megazord fights that COULD have been adapted, but NOPE! I know that not everything from a Sentai series needs to be adapted for Power Rangers, but THAT was really pushing it!
RPM, an adaptation that only used the foot soldiers, and most of the monsters and villains from Go-Onger’s Gaiark, succeeded in putting out a good show, because it knew what it wanted to do. Go-Onger had other villains and monsters besides robots, but RPM just wanted to focus only on the robots as the show’s bad guys while TELLING IT’S OWN STORY, instead of just giving us a crappy, watered-down, pale imitation of the Sentai it was based on! Megaforce is a MegaFARCE, a MegaFAILURE, and a MegaDISGRACE!

My next seasons to watch are Ninja Storm and RPM. I've just been so busy with everything else I haven't had time watch them.
So sad, Goseiger could have one of the bests villains with Brajira's idea maybe if he was more like an angel and less like an asshole, and show us that he uses Camoumirage to change form from the start (and how he was still capable of use tensou techniques if most of his body was replaced?) or where his "headders" came from.
While I did like Blade Runner, I do agree that they should have done more with him. Instead of making it this last minute plot twist, it should have been something developed across the entire show.

Goseigers , The Goseigers are Sealed! , Romantic Eri , Perform the Ultimate Miracle! , Alice vs Gosei Knight , Strong Alata , The Empire's General Attack , The Ultimate Final Battle , The Messiah is Born. I also liked The Fighting Gosei Power , Fight Towards the Future , and Protecting the Planet is an Angel's Duty. I'm watching Goseiger in its entirety in the first place , Alata who is now among my Top Favorite Red Rangers of Sentai he's cool and handsome because of Yudai Chiba , Goseiger is definitely on my top favourites that I watched in the franchise.

Having now watched Goseiger all the way through, I've now seen every episode of Sentai from Gorenger to KingOhger.
Goseiger is very run-of-the-mill when compared to other Sentai of its era, but I find it interesting they went with multiple villain factions, ala Boukenger. But this time they turned them into a series of threats rather than concurrent which would have made for a higher-stakes situation.
The henshin device is fairly unique and the main villain isn't just some guy who sits around until the finale or is stuck to the wall, which all help to make this show interesting but it's an uphill battle against the cluster-fudge mech designs, the speed at which interestign conflicts are resolved and the bland writing in most of the episodes.
The bit where Alata, Hyde and Agri were calling out for each other made me laugh though. I could watch that episode again, but not the whole season.
Yeah, Goseiger is a show I am glad I had finally sat down and watch in full, but not one I ever plan to revisit unless someone releases it on video here in the US.
So what is your next Sentai review?
It will either be Battle Fever J or Ninninger. Not sure yet. Depends on which one I start watching first.

I haven't seen the show in a long time, I remember the show being generic for most of the show until the final arc which I remember really enjoying the final arc, it has been a while, I actually like the goseiger shinkenger movie for what it is, but yeah goseiger big highlight will always be goseiger gokaiger 199 battle movie.
The pacing is just bad all around. The final arc was only 6 episodes, yet, felt like it was going on forever while the Mantrintis stuff was rushed.
