He hit the pole; the pole didn’t hit him. Sorry for your loss. Hopefully your attorney can find some other liability that isn’t apparent right now.
PLM. Polls lives matter
She’s in denial.
@@UnderTheMilkyWay-mc8md Nope...not in denial. She's getting ready for a lawsuit. That's all.
@@sonnyk4840
Her husband was inebriated.
There is no case here.
Im very sorry this happened… but accidents do happen. Im just sick and tired of zero responsibility taken by ppl. Seriously, we are blaming inanimate objects?!? My heart breaks for his children. I hope this woman chooses to celebrate his life and the fact that he was privileged enough to be able to ski/snowboard often. He lived and died, it seems, doing what he loved. Its not the poles fault.
A lot of words from someone with obviously no life experience in these things…
True!
You are so right.
@@pkennedy0219
How old are you?
I have compassion for her because we forget that sometimes when people push beyond the limits it may cost them their life.
That noted (and as cruel as it seems): Grief + media coverage = lawyers calling.
He lost control when are people going to take responsibility for themselves
It sounds like their marriage was out of control because he's out with his buddies and leaving his wife and children at the house she probably Spikes his coffee
She just wants 💵💲💲💸💸💰💰
Thinking of The Sopranos episode where a mobster heads out for a jog. His wife is screaming at him and he tells her take a Midol. Calling each other terrible hateful cruel names, very ugly. Then, after he’s murdered on the jog, the weeping widow is interviewed on TV news tearfully recalling that his last words to her before leaving the house that fateful day were, “I love you.” 😬
If you have ever wondered why they make you sign a waiver of liability when you go snowboarding/skiing, now you know. Tragic, but it's not the fault of the resort.
She’s absolutely right, this didn’t have to happen, stay away from ski lift poles.
When u have a family you shouldn’t be with your friends doing dangerous stuff
That was mean 💔
I never thought about what you said but maybe that's why my brother never had children because he loves to do stuff like this every weekend I can't afford to do it but you are correct that money for that expensive snow trip could've been used for the college education fund
@@hardrocklova
It’s factual.
Ur lame.. so not tru
Not really, it's very simple, you should keep your speed down and stay in control.
Pad poles, trees, buildings, cars, and rocks.
Hah lol! This is why I don’t snow board!
💯
…and now airplanes.
Guess you should pad all the trees too.
Trees are very visible. Brown, green, and covered in white stuff. These dark green poles at the bare minimum should be painted yellow or red...
@@Tribuneoftheplebs Dark green contrasts well with white. I don't think painting them in a different color would have made a difference.
@@overratedgm5713 its the fact that its a straight green stick. Trees arent thin. They are very wide and visible
@@Tribuneoftheplebs Trees come in all different sizes, including thin. These poles have a cable and chairs hanging from said cable. I have done a lot of skiing and I have never had trouble avoiding the ski lift poles, even in the foggiest conditions. I don't think it's fair to blame the ski resort.
@@overratedgm5713 poles usually covered in bright padding at 99% of places though
This world is becoming sick with these horrid comments. I know this family and the love they had for each she is distraught she is torn. My heart is shattered for this beautiful family for this amazing man. He was a great dad a great husband a wonderful human. RIP and this sweet little family will need so much love and support after this insanely sad tragedy.
It's natural to be angry and want to blame, but the pole did not come after him.
She's already working on a lawsuit. Smh.
Probably made sure he had a lot of coffee with a lot of caffeine pills in it if you know what I mean
She feels she has to blame someone.
The tower doe not seem to be difficult to see. If she gets her day in court, Mountain High might not be as thrilling or as affordable as it is now.
Wow… I feel sorry for you. To comment something like this you must have issues.
Sounds like his wife is saying he had his priorities in the wrong spot and should have been more conscientious about responsibilities towards his own family instead of his own reckless behavior.
That is stuff that you do when you're young and you are single he's wasting college education money there and fancy dumb trips that he should've got out of his system when he was younger
@@davidOConnor-z3l
Right.
Please pad the tower with bubble wrap! Pad everything……pad the whole mounatain….
PAd the trees…
PAd the rocks…..pad the pads….pad the snow……pad the road!
…and now pad airplanes too!
New state laws will be you must have a crash helmet elbow pads and protective crash gear just to be on the mountain let alone how do you snowboard
Funny how it never crossed her mind earlier.
In California they will pass a new law mandating airbags on people@@davidOConnor-z3l
@@UnderTheMilkyWay-mc8mdlittle harsh
he wasnt killed, he died, tragic, report corrrectly
A very sad situation and my condolences to his family. I was just at Mountain High yesterday and there is no shortage of people going too fast even on beginner runs unfortunately. There is no way to be totally safe in most sports so it is up to all of us to use good judgement. The padding is meant to give some minimal level of protection but can't help when going way too fast. The trees don't have padding and can be just as dangerous. It is natural in a tragedy to look for someone to blame but I hope this family can get past that and find some level of peace. I'm old and am losing family and friends too (including from the vaccine). Try to focus on your memories and all the good things of your lives together when you can. RIP young man.
That sucks a lot, but its just an accident. Perhaps when she gets over the shock, she can focus on her kids and the good memories, instead of blame.
Lift tickets are about to become alot more expensive....
I guess we forgot about Sonny Bono
You beat me to the punch
Wasn’t Liam Neason’s wife Natasha Richardson killed in a freak skiing accident? I recall she was in a coma for weeks, so sad.
@@UnderTheMilkyWay-mc8mdshe just fell in the snow really hard; she didn’t run into anything.
And Michael Kennedy, Robert's son. Like Sonny, no helmet.
Assassinated the research is there.
We need snowboard control laws,,, we need to raise the age to 21 with a background check for anyone wishing to buy a deadly snowboard,,, we need a five day waiting period for anyone wishing to buy a deadly snowboard,,,, are we going to wait until someone brings the snowboard onto an elementary school campus?
😂😂
A snowboard can’t kill fifty people in five minutes.
Yes! Snowboarding is dangerous! Exactly why I …DONT do it!
Poor woman, poor kids. No one’s fault though. Horrible accident.
Yeah. No one fault, but she planning to hire an attorney anyway
Its traggic but what if it was a tree
The company has decided they will remove the lips so they can remove the pole to the lake never had this happen again to any other dumb pool
Moral of this story : ride a bike
Bikes aren't safe either. People get hit on bikes, people crash their bike. Any sporting activity is dangerous if the person participating is not cautious and following guidelines for staying safe
his friend said it . he lost control. happens a lot on a mountain. i know 2 others who died this way. skiing is not a 'safe' pass time.
Sorry for your loss. Prayers for you, and your two little angels. may God comfort you in your time of need. 🙏❤
Where was god when the guy was about to hit the pole ? Guess god was taking a 🚽 break at that time ? 🤔
As a Snowboarder I know the dangers of being in the snow. I feel for her loss but at the same time I'm sure he knew the dangers. especially if he was a regular snowboarder ! you can't be a snow bunny and not every hear about the many ways that people can die while doing snow sports!!. ironically hitting something is the most common way of dyeing while snowboarding or skiing !! Hopefully the lawyer can get them some money. but those Waivers are pretty clear and usually hold up in court. 😒😒
This isn’t the resort’s fault. Need to be aware of your surroundings and obstacles at all times.
Just like an airbag doesn't always save people from brutal car accidents, pads on towers don't always save skiers from high-velocity impacts. I've skied for decades and skiers and snowboarders are responsible for their own safety. I know she's heartbroken, but she's putting the blame on deep pockets for a reason.
Has no one learned from the snow mobile incident with that car racing guy what’s his name? Ken block?
What happened?
@@lang-ed3bk he died in a snow mobile accident couple years ago. Crushed my his own snow mobile.
There is 2 feet of snow right now! Dude was flying and wasn't very good and lost control. He had to have been going 40
People come on, this woman is grieving immensely! That should say it all. Putting her down and harsh comments aren't necessary.
Lawsuit will be coming I'm sure.

If she can prove the padding wasn't adequate by comparing it to other slopes or proving there's a standard that wasn't met the she's right
So sad! 😢😢
What was his B.A.C.?
It was broke
I think he had more than alcohol in his system if you'd wait I think he was jacked up on some sort of caffeine if you know what I mean
No idea. But his I'LL BE B.A.C. is 0.
blaming an inanimate object?
The wife 🤑
The guys family 💔💔💔💔💔💔
Sorry for the guy! RIP!
Seriously! RIP!
It didn't need to happen if he would of snowboard like a normal snowboarder instead of losing control. Sorry it was going to happen sooner or later lady. Don't blame others.
If you don't have the ability to control how you ride, prepare for the consequences. It's your responsibility to be in control of yourself. This is very tragic and sad but ultimately, he's responsible for the way he rode.
He probably couldn’t stand her😅
Really? Hurtful, unnecessary comment !!
All it takes is to lose focus
Maybe he was enjoying the view of the mountains and took his eye off for one second….. one dangerous second is all it takes….
Porque buscar el peligro, cuando tienes ya una familia que te hace feliz?
Ey pootho, speak English.
Just like ken block RIP
And to this father 🙏🙏
When you're going too fast and you can't control yourself at the speed... That can happen. It's not the Resorts fault.. Sorry for your loss. My prayers 🙏 🙏 go out to his family.
blaming the lift tower which doesnt move...while he boarded into it
He was probably being Reckless but I agree with her that those poles should have adequate padding and everyday should be check to make sure that they are above the snow line. They look pretty pathetic in these pictures.
Accidents happen even when people aren't being reckless.
What about the trees? What about other skiers? What about the ground - should that be padded. No the guy knew he was participating in a dangerous sport - people die every single year boarding and if you're going to blame the resort then you should probably go live in a padded world, The reality of life is that it ends in death.
All this will do is make it so you have to wear a full face motorcycle gear helmet
Bro the news music over the lady crying 😂
Fr they play that music at the wrong times. 😭
Those are tears of an actress
You are not supposed to go too fast. There is always a risk of playing sports.
At least he’s not a vegetable stuck on a ventilator..
Here comes the blame game...

Naw no lawsuit - clearly says it on the back of the ticket

Good.
Speed was definitely a factor
She is blaming someone but probably he lost control . Hopefully the cameras will show not that is matter he is gone. Unfortunately majority of snow boarders are wait to fast and aggressive..

It’s sad the comments, I guess until it happens to you and your family you never are really going to be empathetic and be mindful of your words. This is a family in my community and it’s heartbreaking. Doesn’t matter how you feel, someone is not going home to their little babies.
Nomas sabemos que salimos pero no sabemos si volvemos
This is very tragic, but blaming a GIANT POLE is ridiculous. When you crash your car into a tree, do you blame the city for putting a tree there, and "inadequate" padding on it? Like a lot of things, accidents happen, especially a physical sport. That's all it is.
Sorry for the circumstances. MH may claim assumption of responsibility, unfortunately.

Mama!
No, you’re thinking of the subjects of this story. Irresponsible actions including reckless behavior and possible substance / alcohol use lead to a bad outcome. Now they blame others and hurt society. Those are true dregs.
Nope. This is outright blame because she can’t accept her husband was off the planet at the time.
Wow.... leave Mountain High alone... your hubby was NOT that good at snowboarding... He LOST control... the witness said "He lost control"
2:50 hyperventilating trying to look distraught yet no tears, her amateur acting career is coming in handy.

wants money
If he's off snowboarding with his friends on the weekend I think their marriage was already in shambles
It didn’t even happened on a weekend… you know nothing. Keep comments to your self
This is very sad and the woman is very angry. I do agree. I guess that the ski companies should have the polls wrapped much higher because at the height there at the snow does completely cover the padding, but it doesn’t cover the pole and if you accidentally smash into there, you’re in trouble. I believe that this woman will sue the company and she will get a settlement and maybe they will change the padding to make it higher
