I've been playing these in chronological order. I think the pick of the litter in the top row is Mortol. A neat twist on platformers that kind of reminded me of DOS games from back in the day. But the sheer variety means that there's something for everyone. UFO Nifty!

Im not sure NES games are gonna work for someone with no impulse control and such a powerful stubborn streak 😅 Or someone who gets so salty as soon as they lose that 'im winning feeling' I really wanted to watch kyle try this but i shoulda known he'd drive me crazy with his approach to these types of games...its on me my expectations were just dreadfully misaligned with reality. 😂
the meta idea is good, but having almost all the games be unfun just because they're "NES games" really spoils the experience. maybe let the first few games be unsufferable, but let the rest be fun and have more modern QOL. at this point the unfun aspect just fosters the gatekeepy, holier than thou crowd that scoffs at casual gamers like kyle for getting frustrated. it feeds into your snobby ego and lets you turn up your nose and say "you just dont get it bro git gud"
@kephalai The games are incredibly fun, you just genuinely need to learn them. It's not gatekeeping, sometimes you do just actually need to learn and practice a game. A game isn't bad just because it's hard.
@graveyardduck7017 It'd help if you know what the heck you were supposed to be doing. I understand part of the appeal is the joy of discovery...but after a certain point it starts to get kinda frustrating after trying again and again and again and still not being able to beat it. Even Ghosts N Goblins gave you some idea of how the game worked
@@itshobojoe1391You simply learn the games by playing them, or you can just leave your inputs idle at the title screen and receive a visual demo of how the game looks being played properly. Or you know, search for gameplay of someone who knows what they're doing? Back in the day if you watched someone godlike at a certain arcade game play, you learned how REAL quick.
