After being listed on the market, it’s starting to generate concern in Miami’s environmental community because of the island’s reputation of being a bird sanctuary.
The 37-and-a-half acre private island has been listed for $31.5 million.

I can't imagine anyone actually paying $31 million for a strip of sand that could be wiped out with one strong hurricane. It's called Bird Island so let the birds have it.

Would've been cooler if he donated it to the conservancy, doesn't seem like it can provide much use other than a pier for small boats to fish from. Would be a good Sanctuary to have and provide eco tourism opportunity. Could be holding bird tours to the island very easily, but oh well its gonna be underwater anyways

Can’t build on it doesn’t have infrastructure possibility so it’s definitely not worth the money. If it matters so much to Florida then they’ll seize it.

With land like that I would just make a stipulation in my will to leave it to the state park system, or even do so sooner for “tax reasons”😉the place is quite literally for the birds. I could see maybe tying up a hammock in the shade after kayaking out there but not if anyone is nesting, as they can get very peckish.
