Coach my son went on a visit and they said they would get back to him but they never did why wouldn’t they stick to their word?

Follow up with them and ask if there is an opportunity with them.

I have a son that is a little bit of a late bloomer. He is a junior. 6 ft 2 and 185 lbs, very athletic. Real good curveball and a fastball with a lot of movement. He has been successful but only throws 81. He is spending the winter participating in 4 months of velocity training. If he reaches 85+ with three really good pitches and an A average... does that open up D1 doors? Or most likely D2? Thoughts? As a junior is it too late in the process to try to break a D1 program?
Note he just made a top travel team with 6 or 7 power 5 D1 commits. So he is effective with his current velocity.

Hey Sean, if he reaches that he will have a shot. It sounds like his body is projectable. So no it is certainly not to late for D1. He has 10-12 more months of D1 recruiting if you are going to for midmajors.

Great content! You talk about exposure vs development. Playing Fall ball can get you exposure but is it worth it?

Hey Steve, in my opinion if you are going into your senior year it is not worth playing summer ball unless you are on a top team and you know who you are going to be getting in front of. Other wise I would recommend going to showcases and or camps and know you will get exposure to schools that way. Fall ball is great if you are going for development and you are going into Sophomore or Junior year.
