Yes! I spent 7 years moving and moving. Wanted big house. Then small. Wanted lake house and so stressed to make the payment I'm miserable. So, we are selling and downsizing. So glad to hear this podcast! It really sheds light on things and will help me moving forward!
Binging so many of your podcasts over the last few weeks, and thoroughly enjoyed this one. I'm lucky to have grown up with many of these values. I distinctly remember at age 15 suddenly realising that getting the thing I had been wanting, (sometimes for a very long time because we did not have much spare money for treats) did not make me happy because there was always the next thing to want! So at 15 I was already working on toning down my desire for shiny new things. Now in my 50's not doing too badly at all!
This is such an important topic. We do so many things and spend money, BUY stuff that we don't need because we consciously or sub-consciously adopt desires from our influences. Also, flamin' hot Cheetos should be your next sponsor. Promo code: regret!
My husband and I paid off our house in our early 50's. People said we were lucky. No we were not we worked hard and were frugal with our money. As we got money, we would update.
The 3 psychological drivers are 1) power/control, 2) safety/security and 3) esteem/affection/approval. Some things hit all 3 like an expensive 4wd. Look through the illusions, work out your own salvation
Omg... I just ordered 20 cases of Mountain Dew baja blast... because you advertised it! I am going to buy Mountain Dew stock next.... the stock price is going to go through the roof because you advertised for them.... 😂
I sometimes love to watch some reality tv. The last time it was The real Housewives of Beverly Hills and I started to notice that I develop some strange wants from that. So my wishlist grew on my shopping accounts. But luckily I know myself and I know I will delete all of this stuff from my lists once I detoxed from the show. But yeah, it's a real thing, it creates a lot of wants that I actually don't really have. 😅
Great conversation. One thing that maybe fixed in newer episodes already is: placing the guest in between two our more hosts Leads to the guest looking to each other. For me it is unwatchable unfortunately because it is really stressful to see Luke switching over from left to right to keep eye contact with both of you
I think social media is sweet and sour i find some people come to social media to fill an empty tank but social media will never fill that it has to start from within sad but i do hope that some people find that peace i like your channel
I loved his comment about your psychology and investing. My boyfriend recently made 11k in a day from the stock market. A few weeks ago he talked me into buying a few shares but I sold after a week with only a small profit because it gave me so much anxiety. I'm stoked that he could do it & kind of wish I had the same ability to separate my feelings from the process.. Anyway, it's nice to know I'm not the only one.
Wanting--oh yeah, I do want something....MORE SPACE....for Mountain Dew....no, really want to toss out stuff, therefore the results of having more space will be achieved.
I know it's an exaggeration/joke to say sugary drinks are "poison", but seriously, alcohol is actually poisonous (ie. alcohol poisoning) and unnecessary as long as we have access to potable water.
One of your better recent podcasts. Bring back Luke Burgis soon.

I can relate!

June 1 started a month long “buy nothing” detachment experience.

Minimalism is the first step...that means there’s more to come
Great conversation.

Is it possible that our desire is not a THING, but the person we want to become?

Holy smokes!!
What you could do is to set up your depot for automatic buy and sell to the prices you set beforehand. Takes the feelings out of it, sorta.

What's up with the black shirts?
It's my first time watching your video, and I too only wear black shirts. Am I minimalist?
Thank you for this ❤️
This is so interesting 👏👏
HAHAHAA!!!!...this was the funniest start, can't stop laughing.

I want a free version of his audio book
A bird can dream eh 😁
Great podcast, one of the best! Enjoy my Dew though! lol
The irony is, you preach getting rid of the stuff while manufacturers are making products with minimalist theme.
But ultimately the decision is yours. :)
Minimalist bedtime stories - Paton pending 😂
Can I still be a minimalist with lots of animals?
Yep!
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
This podcast by no one because ads sucks
But why do I want Mountain Dew Baja Blast now? Lol
Siri is necessary?
Subtítulos en español please ♥🇦🇷♥
I know a great Spanish translator, making her own intentional way in the world if Josh and Ryan need one x
👍🏿
Luke could talk a cat down a tree probably.
Monkey see, monkey do, is real.
