Mr Freeze Gets a Happy Ending

- I will be honest, Mr freeze is my favorite batman villain. And I had the urge to contrive a scenario for him that I really wanted to happen, regardless of "structure" or "making any sense at all". Don't care, I want this cartoon to exist. The ice guy needs a break.
Also to anyone who says: "He didn't cure Nora, he just melted the ice"
No, she's cured, shut up.

Campbell's Soup being the cure for one of Batman's deadliest villains is the most Christmassy thing ever
Adding a Hostess Fruit Pie would make it even more accurate to the comics
Shame it didn't work for Two Face.
It's also the most Adam West thing ever to cure a villian named Mr. Freeze and his wife of an incurable sickness with soup.
Campbell's Chicken Noodle Soup is the cure for cancer!!!
That did kinda happen though, in a Batman Animated Series episode some chicken soup defeated Mr. Freeze
I love that there's no sad or messed up twist. The punchline is just increasingly absurd good things happening to Mr. Freeze because of soup
Doofus has intuited that sometimes the best and most surprising twist is actually just pure escalation
Loadsa hunny later...
Well he did lose his immortality so that kind of sucks.
immortality was a curse to freeze, at least he will spend the rest of his days with someone he loves.
He would rather die first then last
On a serious note, Freeze really does need a happy ending, he’s a cool villain, don’t get me wrong, but I want him to have a happy ending
Haha COOL.
I think in one variation Arkham Asylum actually lets him keep his wife in the same cell in the cryo-chamber so he can study her for a cure, and in that variation when Arkham had one of its jailbreaks Mr.Freeze chose to stay in Arkham so he could continue working on finding a cure.
Also her condition is actually a rare heart condition.
@dualswitch8102 hey CHILL dude
The closest thing you're gonna get is in an arkham knight DLC
In the direct to video movie, "Batman and Mr. Freeze: Sub-Zero" he kinda got a happy ending (before the episode "Cold Comfort" and "Meltdown" became cannon).
"I got a contingency plan for Mr. Freeze !"
"It a soup"
"Always has been."
"The best way to fight a cold" Alfred
Nightwing: Bruce what the fuck are you saying? Your contingency plan for Dr. Freeze is soup?!
I like how Mr. Freeze’s helmet moves with him. Like he’s just using a clear plastic bag as a helmet.
Good thing he loses it when he is cured by soup. As clear plastic bags are oft quick to remind us, they are NOT a toy.
And his eye lids go over his goggles
Just like Frank Reynolds’ first girlfriend.
Yeah 😆
A PLASTIC BAG FOR A HELMET!!!
Mr. Freeze is one of the few villains who genuinely deserves a happy ending.
Also, the Adam West impression is on point.
Bet
In arkham he literally gets a happy ending. Also Nora is American as far as I'm aware.
Totally ignoring the body counts are we
@@buttAttack We are, go away.
@@habijjj more bittersweet then happy since nora is still gonna die
0:37 the fact that Batman was able to open the can of soups, heat it up, put it in a bowl, aim at the right area so it wouldn’t fall off and throw it in less than a second is incredible, no wonder he could kick the flash’s butt!
He used the emergency Bat-Heater, which also turned the can into a bowl. It uses high-yield chemical reactions combined with microwaves to instantly raise any object's temperature.
@@zekeram129 I thought he used the bat-pan
They said it was soup not hot soup
prep time my son
Whats really funny is he only did that for Nora. Freeze just gets beaned with the whole can.
0:18
It's really sad and telling that Freeze doesn't even doubt Batman when he says the disease was cured, even though he's arguably the smartest villain in Batman's whole rogues gallery. He's just THAT desperate to get his goddamn wife back.
True, but to put a more hopeful spin on it, he knows for a FACT that Batman would never lie about this, EVER.

Fun fact: that Campbell's soup commercial is technically not a Christmas commercial. It just happens to fit perfectly with the holiday motifs.
I remember it wasn't aired in December
1000th like
@@Slixcy Congratulations!
I remember it
I love how Mr. Freeze gets more and more confused as Batman just explains the cure.
"Christmas miracle...?" 🤣😂
I mean he didn't really get a chance even process what just happened in all 3 cases. who could blame him?
the cure was soup
@@grahamskaggs4376 In all cases...
"What do you mean your at soup?"
That skit is stuck in my head again. 😆
Just use "ur" if you dont wanna use you're. It's easier and faster to type and it can mean U-R and ur just like you're and your. Except it does not confuse people who read it. Please
@@electricspider2267 If you're going to get picky about what word to use, "ur" is wrong in every situation, because it isn't a word.
“I’m at the soup store!”
@@SnobbyBird_ "WHY ARE YOU BUYING CLOTHES AT THE SOUP STORE!?"
I love that the first episode with Mr Freeze ACTUALLY ended with Batman pouring soup on him to defeat him. Like...look it up. Not sure if this was a coincidence or intentional reference. Lol
Wasn't that the Arkham origins game where Batman defeats him with Alfred's sup?
Fun fact: Pouring hot liquids; such as soup or coffee; onto ice cold glass; such as Mr. Freeze's helmet or a car windshield, can cause a rapid expansion in the molecules that will cause the glass to crack. Or in some cases outright explode.
Seriously, don't pour hot water on your car windshield to defrost it in the winter unless you can afford to have it fixed. My mom made that mistake once when I was growing up...
Also I really hope I got the punctuation right because I can't really remember when to use semicolons vs. commas...
True dat! It’s all thanks to Alfred giving Batman the chicken soup in the first place when Batman himself is coming down with a cold. He even repeated what Alfred said to him after stunning Mr. Freeze;
“The only way to fight a cold.”
@@duchuybui2607 No
With the legendary plot armour that BatMan has, he can literally do anything at this point and still achieve success.
Except beat Ra’s Al Ghul. Actually, a lot more than that. I’m guessing you haven’t read the comics because his plans do fail and he does lose sometimes.
@@Zorro7269 In his own comics, yea.
In Justice league comics he feels OP, or so I've heard.
Haven't really read that much JL comics but I'm just saying what I've heard from other readers.
he cant hug his parents
That's the whole point of plot armour?
@@pkmntrainerred4247usually batman in the JL comics avoids fighting the final boss if he doesn't have the JL with him or some trick up his sleeve. People call him op because the writers usually stick to the theme of prep time which has turned into somewhat off a cop out.
Batman is not a bad character, just isn't beaten enough in the JL comics due to him avoiding one v oning people without the aforementioned shit

@@joshevans3421 Soups On!
@@Pridetoons I like your enthusiasm
I find the idea that nora's disease is just being frozen, rather than just him freezing her to give himself more time to find the cure pretty funny
Mr. Freeze has to be one of the saddest villains compared to how his backstop made him who he is. I genuinely hope he gets retribution and maybe even a resolution to his story later
Injustice Mister Freeze is basically like "I just want to cure my wife will either side of this conflict take me I will literally do anything to cure my wife" and rather than ends justify the means Superman helping him or Batman helping him or something the entire Injustice universe just replies "NO FUCK YOU AND YOUR WIFE!"
The original Animated series Mister Freeze has it a lot worse though, Nora gets cured while Freeze is trapped in the arctic but she ends up dying anyway later, and this is why Mister Freeze becomes just an evil villain lashing out at everyone starting in New Batman Adventures. His goal literally becomes making everyone miserable because his happiness was stolen from him after that point.
“Victor- I am so cold- uh- why are you blue?”
Gets me every time.
I love that all of Freeze's problems are solved before he even has a moment to comprehend it.
I love the fact that Nora's very first question to Victor after being unthawed is "why are you blue" her delivery of that sentence was so perfect🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
It's nice to see Mr. Freeze and his wife get the happy ending they deserve, even if it happens so abruptly.
Beautiful storytelling, and if you look back on to the early comics you can actually see this is what was originally intended but they were too afraid to end such a well written villain
Wait, his wife was supposed to not have a disease but just be frozen?
@@nobafan7515 she's frozen because she has a disease. Her disease is pretty much immediately fatal, so Freeze(somehow) figures out a way to keep her in suspended animation via freezing. This gives him time to try and find a cure for her
They were gunna cure her with soup?
@@Alucia0 I guess?
@@dragonheart1236 right, that's the only thing about Mr Freeze I know about, but op was saying this video showed the original intended idea and I got confused.
Mr freeze deserves this happy ending as his life was just suffering when he just tried to be a good man especially in Batman beyond
batman beyond freeze was depressing for me.
@@BongoThe there he was just basically used just when he got some happiness. Life just loves to kick him down

@@ninab.4540 REALLY? That’s interesting, may I ask what you hate about it? I’m interested because I’ve never heard this take.
So please tell me, what does Beyond do to grind your gear? Cheese your onions? Scratch your glasses?
@@stingerjohnny9951maybe not beyond, but i do recall mr. freeze being petty and going back to a life of crime when he was just a head. kinda killing his whole bittersweet ending in BTAS.
I like how if Victor Freeze was able to cure his wife he not only wouldn't be a villian, but might actually start fighting crime alongside Batman to atone for his past actions or if it gets time off his enormous sentence.
I don't know, the idea of Batman having a German Iceman making Freeze puns is highly amusing to me.
the way he says "Batman what the f*** are you on about?" might be the funniest thing I've seen on youtube in recent memory

If someone made an actual comic similar to this story to give him a happy ending it would probably be the best Mr Freeze comic, awesomely done man keep it up.
Not even that, this can be perfectly be the plot of an actual movie, just remplace soup with cientific BS and voila.
@@napoleonbuonaparte8975 a desperate race by Batman to get Mr. Freeze the cure to his wife before some big gambit that Batman know *knows* not only will fail but would kill Nora sounds like a nail biting and beautifully cathartic experience.
NEVER underestimate the power of soup.
That is also my takeaway from this too.
You still can't buy clothes at the soup store
@@davidhong1934 But you can wear soup.
Or at the very least a can of soup, provided it's large enough.

@@davidhong1934 Unless you wash it, there's still soup on it, so it probably counts.
Love that this is literally the plot of Mr Freeze’s debut in the animated series.
The last soup that teleported them to the Bahamas slayed me, I should have seen it coming but the execution just caught me completely by surprise.
There was a wormhole at the bottom of that soupcan XD
My favorite is when someone comes up with an idea for one tiny joke and just goes "you know what? That's it. That joke is gonna just snowball." Peak comedy
Like the joke about Frogger where it says "Go" and the frog from Frogger is all like "no I don't want to".
Hehehe snowball, like the snowman.
@@KazeGaara89 and that snowballs into all the froggers from he froggerverse coming together to kill either the narrator or the inventor of roads
I love how the soup seems to use magic to fix all his problems, but for the criminal records, you just can't read them 'cause they've got soup on 'em.
The subtle reference to the ice climbers is hilarious
Fun fact, the sympathetic backstory for Mr. Freeze was a product of the writers room of Batman the Animated series.
This reminds me of the first time Mr. Freeze was in BTAS and he is able to win by using a canister of soup as a weapon
Can we appreciate how much from Batman's lore came from the Animated Series?

I actually prefer this version than the current comic book storyline where essentially Nora is cured, unfrozen, rejects Victor, and sleeps around with others, which causes Mr Freeze to lash out in rage, at least with this version they're still together. Thanks Doobus, DC comics should hire you.
Wow, I don't even read comics and I think that's utter garbage that Mr. Freeze is being put through.
My head cannon is that it never happened & he wakes up from that bad dream to be hugged by Nora (oh & they both are cured)
Goodness gracious, that's horrible. DC is not what it used to be.
i kinda prefer the arkhamverse version, i mean yeah she didn't get cured at the end, but at least victor and nora were able to finally spend time together.
Who writes this crap
You activated a deep seeded nostalgic memory I had lost in the stains of time and I’ve never felt more whole. Thank you doobus, merry Christmas.
The more I rewatch this, the more wonderful details I find
Like the fact that Freeze's gun is labeled "chilly" and his swimming trunks have ice cubes on them
True art
the way batman says “it’s soup” is weirdly satisfying to me
I love how Goob just remembered an old commercial from his childhood and decided to make an animation around it.
I completely forgot about that snowman commercial! Thank you so much for the nostalgia!
I come back and watch these every so often because they're awesome, and DG deserves the revenue goddamn it.😊
I love how your cartoons, while having a clinical edge, genuinely want what's best for the characters over all.
Yes, even the Muppet one.
Especially the Muppet one.
glad Mr freeze got a good ending, his story is truly tragic.
Plot Twist:
The last big can of soup just knocked them out long enough for Batman to pay a trip to the Bahamas and place them there indefinitely, paying for any expenses (which he can afford).
