Heavenly father will never forsake his divine children whom he loves. If we truley love im with all our heart, mind, soul and strength he will always guide us in truth.
I was laughing, smiling because of seeing & knowing the crazy street preacher who I work with & know from our Stake, then Al Fox! Then I was quickly moved to tears to see the simplicity & power of the message with the one word title, Origin. In a world full of noise, distraction, "correctness," and confusion even worse then when Joseph Smith asked of God, I am so grateful to know the reality of a Loving, Living Heavenly Father who directs my paths when I allow him. Thank you for the message!
That's something I have learned along the way ... what God tells me is for ME, not for someone else. If someone disagrees with me, I tell them to ask for themselves and go with that answer. He knows what's best for each of his children. Once you have heard Him, you are responsible to follow what He has told you.
I loved the way they retold Joseph's story to show how completely and perfectly relevant the questions he had are the same questions that we have today. I loved the perspective on how this story was refashioned to make it recognizable to us. I wish there were more videos like this being made by the church in a similar way as this one.
I loved this video! I prayed to know if God existed and he sent me to angels(two elders)from the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saint. They were an answer to my prayer. They taught me the restored Gospel and I knew that it was true.
We believe that God loves us and doesn't want us to be confused. "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind." God lives, loves us, and answers our prayers =)
Joseph Smiths words are true. Because he is a prophet of God their God's inspired words to us Truth is eternal everlasting endless his words will ring true to honest seekers of truth
Son verdaderamente de gran fortaleza, de gran reflexión, lleno de buenos valores, .... cualquier persona al escuchar recibe guía y orientación en su vida, son realmente inspirados de Dios...
I've really been struggling with my testimony on whether the Gospel is true or not. On whether or not I believe it. I wasn't raised in the Church, so every single thing I learn, I doubt automatically. I really needed this. I needed the reminder that I need to ask of God, not of man. Thank you.
Our Father knows what each of us needs and what is right for each of us to do at any point in our life. Two people can get different answers to the same question about how to act, because their situations are different, they need to learn different things at different times, and God knows what is best for each of them. I hope that helps...I don't know all the answers, but I know God loves us!
Thank you Strive to Be so much!! I know this video was a long time ago, but I just wanted to thank you guys. This video really helped me through the times I'm going through right now in my life; with seminary, school, family, church, everything. It's so stressful and this video just calmed me. Thank you guys❤
Beautiful and moving video. He really does answer prayers when you sincerely look. He answered my prayers at a similar time in my life, as I wanted to know it was true.
God may give 2 people in a similar situation different directions to follow, but the answer about principles and truths will be the same. If 2 people have different answers about truth than we must ask for ourselves which is right or whether both be wrong.
I can only give you the 13th article of faith as a guidance..We believe in being honest, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men: indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul - We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things...
"How can one then establish what is really true? ... The best way of finding truth is simply go to the origin of all truth, and ask." If the origin of truth tells one person one thing, and one person something different, who is right?
I love this video especially because it shows the girl as lost and confused as Joseph Smith was. The days we live in now are the hardest in the history of the world. We have all this technology, both for the good and bad. All these distractions, all the filth and trash that will drive the spirit away. These are the last days as the scriptures have told us. A time for trials, and tribulations. But God saved us, specifically, for these days. If you don't believe me, do what James directs. Ask.
In a loving Father in Heaven and in His son Jesus Christ, that through Christ we can understand where we came from before birth, what is the purpose of life, and what happens after we die. Mormons believe in the salvation of individuals but also the salvation of families, that families can be sealed together in the eternities. There are many more wonderful teachings. To learn more, speak with the missionaries at mormon.org!
Gallupbird, understand the point you bring up. Truth is found in most good organizations. To find the truth of this particular message you could use John 7:17 and James 1:5-6 as guides.
I like this video. My brother sent me the link while he was on his mission. not quite sure how he managed that when he isn't suppose to be on youtube, but oh well. I had never thought of the Joseph Smith history in modern context before. It was a very unique perspective and I hope it to helps me understand the scriptures more in the future.
A wonderful resource is mormon.org, where you can find our values and beliefs as well as chat with missionaries. There are also a 13 statements, or Articles of Faith, that state our beliefs and convictions beautifully and plainly. They include powerful truths such as "We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost." I know the principles of the gospel of Jesus Christ bring joy and peace.
I think it depends on how they are asking the question: I think this video is about how you ask the question - if you're not giving it 100%, you're just going to hear what you want to hear. (She isn't asking "what is truth" but "what should I do, how do I know")
@gallupbird: Will the origin of all truth tell one person one thing and another person something different regarding the truthfulness of a concept? If so, the origin of all truth is a respecter of persons or changeable (non-constant, developing, not really in possession of all truth). If so, how can we have confidence in any answer? He's constant. Truth is the same for all (e.g. gravity affects all alike). If two people get different answers, then one or both aren't receiving a true answer yet.
@gallupbird. There's not just one answer to your question. Scripture, prayers, and other personal revelation can mean different things at different parts of your life. That goes the same with people. We all learn at different times of our lives. We also got to remember this is personal revelation. Of course you can talk to your leaders, family, and friends about it. They might even lead you to more resources. But in the end, you really should just keep praying. If you're confused on "who's rig
@gallupbird "Who's right" than pray about it more. Look in the scripture more. Last thing, you gotta give it more than one shoot. You got to keep pondering and studying about it. Your answer will come I promise. You just gotta to remember its on the Lord's time though
Good question gallupbird. God is the same yesterday, today and forever. Has has a plan for all of His children, including you, which involves the teaching and learning of His laws. He has called certain men to be prophets and to teach His word to His children. We must read the scriptures and listen to the prophets today, and then ak if what we've learned is true. If we ask in faith we will receive an answer to that question, and know that the prophet is called of God. Then we trust and follow.
I cannot give you a web page for some reason but here are directions to exactly what we believe go to lds.org>then click on scriptures on the side toolbar>then click on the very bottom one called articles of faith hopefully this is helpful! :)
As the whole world is in a tumult of opinions, I found this video very applicable. But can someone help me? What if I am afraid to ask because I don't know if I can measure up to what God wants me to be? How can I be sure of Him?
Shannon Leigh Sizemore Who we are is a reflection of our true desires. As we desire to be what our father in heaven wants us to become, and measure to his standards, change will happen. "Ask, and it shall be given you" -Mathew 7:7 All of us can be strengthened through christ. All we have to do is truly desire and ask, and God won't turn any of us away, I promise. You're gonna be just fine. Just trust.
Shannon Leigh Sizemore even though his expectations of us may seem to be high and hard to uphold at times god will always love us. I'm sure if you ask with a sincere heart he will answer
Shannon Leigh Sizemore I want you to think about this. Jesus Loves you so much that He came and Died for you. He paid the price that you and I could not pay. Our whole salvation relies on what he did. I ask you? what is the work that we must do to obtain eternal life? John 6:28-29 King James Version 28 Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? 29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent. Romans 5:8 But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Ephesians 2:8-9 King James Version 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. Shannon, Jesus Loves You!!
Shannon Leigh Sizemore You are His daughter. To quote Dieter F. Uchdorf, "He loves you with an infinite love!" To quote a tv show; Person 1: "I'm not sure if I believe in 'the big guy.'" Person 2: "That's okay. He believes in you." Hope my thoughts make sense somehow. You can do this. You'll have help.
@gallupbird Heavenly Father won't lead us in separate directions. His will is to have us all live with Him again and have eternal life. His Son, Jesus Christ, is our mediator. He atoned for every sin and that Atonement grants us the opportunity to repent. When we are clean and worthy, we can always feel the Spirit, the Holy Ghost. The Spirit testifies of Christ and we won't be told different things; one person won't be led to God and another away. Heavenly Father is a God of truth.
Heavenly father will never forsake his divine children whom he loves. If we truley love im with all our heart, mind, soul and strength he will always
guide us in truth.
Ask in humility, after doing something completely on faith. An answer WILL come. It did for me 19 years ago and I'll never forget it.
Mormon Messages are the best way to start your day!
This athiest approves this message. I live in a mormon community, life is a million times better.
follow what the Lord wants for you and don't worry about the rest...
A beautiful message on seeking truth from the highest source - God.
This is amazing. I've been there. I received an answer. Seek truth and you'll find it.
Love the gospel, can't imagine life right now without it!!!!
Using Joseph Smith's words to show us how to connect to the origin of all truth. This video is brilliant!
"I have learned for myself". Powerful.

I think this is the most wonderful standalone video the Church has yet produced.
Wonderful how timeless those words are and how they apply to everyone at many times in our lives.
seek and ye shall find!
Favorite Mormon message ever done. I've watched this so many times! It never gets old it's very powerful! :)

Inspiring idea...reach for truth through prayer...

Joseph Smiths words are true. Because he is a prophet of God their God's inspired words to us Truth is eternal everlasting endless his words will ring true to honest seekers of truth
A powerful message, way to make the words jump off the page!
Every time I watch this clip, I feel the Spirit there is not doubt in my heart, Joseph Smith is a prophet of God.
Absolutely wonderful.
I noticed Al Fox too in that split second scene.
True, this is such a great, simple, and powerful message.
What a brilliant video. My highest praise goes to the production crew behind this gem.
Son verdaderamente de gran fortaleza, de gran reflexión, lleno de buenos valores, .... cualquier persona al escuchar recibe guía y orientación en su vida, son realmente inspirados de Dios...
Amazinn video. I know that sister, she is serving in my my mission. She is great missionary.
The author of truth will never contradict truth.

Gallupbirth, the truth is only one and it doesn't change depending on the individual. Truth is truth.
My goodness that's woman in gorgeous! ...what I meant to say was... Great message!!
хорошее видео! реально, в конце концов каждый должен открыть истину для себя.
I am a college professor. Sometimes, the answer is "all of the above".
this is really cool stuff!!!

If you have ever read any part of the Bible, Watch this again! James 1:5
Then go to the Origin and ask if it be true.

What, really?! Did Shay post this on facebook or something? I must've missed it! Glad I found it now =]
I am an atheist but if you Mormons are like the Shaytards then you're alright by me.
1:44 is that Al Fox Carraway?
Yes!

Is there a way for my deaf friend to read it, while watching it? I'd send it to him, if there's no other way I'll write things down for him...
writing would be your best option- or you can read those verses pronounced in te vid together with your deaf friend :)
Al Fox :D
1:44 that's Al Fox :)
What is the name of the song she is listening to at the beginning?

Is there any way to pull just the music track off of this video?
even if there was its probably copyright.
He won't. The discrepancy is in the listener.
Hmmm, I wonder who the ATHEISM on the chalkboard was targeting?
