12:45 "Please Son, I know how to get you back home" Really makes you think. I can hear our savior saying those exact words to each and everyone one of us.
Isn't it so sad how ungrateful we can be to God and our Savior Jesus Christ? I see so much of myself in this boy. The Lord is trying so hard to save and rescue us, but sometimes we think we know better than Him who created all things. Wonderful video!
I really enjoyed when the boatman said, “I will stay close. I will keep an eye on you.” They are really simple words, but sometimes we overlook the simplicity of little things. Heavenly Father is there always. He is close and is always making sure we are being lead in the right direction.
I love how this analogy has the sailor man as a very Christ like person someone who will wait for you and guide you even when you don't want to be in the boat
When we want to leave the church because we see things or people that aren’t perfect and we think that we’ll be better off alone, but where will we go? Where? We better stay in the boat because we aren’t perfect ourselves, and the boat may not be perfect but the one who’s in charge is Almighty and happens to loves us so very much so better stay 💜
The Church and it's members may be a little rough on the edges, but it does have the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the perfect compass to get us home to our Heavenly Father. We are always better off in the boat. Thank you to all involved in the making of this great parable!
Very well done church. Stay in the boat. When you look at things from a different perspective (top view with nothing but sea for miles) you realize how foolish some of our decisions are.
it really uplifts me as a latter day saint and getting to learn that the lord is always there to lead my life and it also makes me remember always that Heavenly Father loves me as his daughter
The sailor is like Christ He takes us in and gives us rest but He says this way isn't fast but it will get you home. We might ask to take the faster route but faster isn't always better. He gives us what we need. He is all the help we need to trust Him. We might see a storm and tell Him to stop but He knows the waters more than anyone else. When we walk off the boat Christ says he will keep an eye out for us and not to go too far. Bobby is like me in thousands of ways.
it really hit me to think that i may have not been in that exact moment but i act that way sometimes when people are helping me. i know that i need to be more grateful for the help i’m reviving no matter how small or big i need to say thank you. thank you all of the people working in and at the church thank for the apostles and president nelson that for so many wonderful general conferences thank for all that this church has done for me. love the video
Thank you SO MUCH Strive to Be! I feel sometimes we may feel like we can do it on our own, and when we jump out of the 'boat' God is still there and He'll "Stay close, and keep and eye on you", even if you feel like He isn't there, He is. He's watching over you, and you just need to ask, and be grateful for what the condition of the boat it, and keep going by the Lords side. Thank you❤❤
When the man picked me up I would of been saying prayer after prayer thank heavenly father he saved my life, just like Christ went through gethsemane we all must go through ours
Oh my word... God loves us regardless of our arrogant behaviour and actions... I love the "I'll stay close by" God is always close by... it is easy to become ungrateful... even at time losing our lives
The ending always really gets me, from our perspective of the boy, it seems so foolish to get off the boat, but we often act just as foolishly and don’t see consequences until later on. Seeing the sailor desperately trying to do all he can is an honest reminder what the Savior is like. It reminds me of that scripture “What more could I have done for my vineyard?”
Wow watching this just after the tragic death of the granddaughter of John F Kennedy and her son drowning only a few leagues from Shore as their canoe was blown out into Chesapeake Bay as they went to get a ball. Needless to say they weren't wearing life vests. I'm sure she felt they'd only be on the water a moment. How often in our lifetimes do we do things knowing there is safety equipment but it'll only be a moment and refuse to use it? One time my husband & his best friend went fishing. They rented too small of a boat & took the underpowered skiff out past the Marina breakers into Open ocean. I was in the temple it was a Saturday with the sisters as I was praying about us I felt very strongly that I needed to to really pray & emplore the Lord to remind my husband to wear his safety gear because he hated it. My husband couldn't swim he'd never had lessons & was afraid of the water. Later that night he came in very late. They had become overrun by a storm with extreme choppy water, heavy rain, thus making them unable to retutn easily to the safety of the marina. He said he prayed & bailed constantly. I asked him if he had his vest on & he said originally I didn't but I felt prompted to put it on when the little tiny boat started to really buck & sway in the water & our equipment was being thrown about. I didn't think my pride needed to be that foolish he grinned but you could see that he had not had a good day. They didn't even catch a fish. My husband never went out again because he couldn't trust his friend to follow the rules and stay where the boat they'd rented was supposed to stay. I was glad my husband understood he was not trained well enough to master the situation in an emergency. I'm grateful he dropped his pride and put on the life vest which helped comfort him and keep him from panicking in that very rough sea. So like with life God provides us that life vest the gospel provides but it doesn't do us any good if we don't learn how to use it and wear it properly.
That shark scared me half to death. We were watching this as a family, and I just ran into the other room, squeaking in terror. 😂 This video is so amazing though! It was astonishing that after going through so much, he was so ungrateful still and unsatisfied with what the sailor had, and he put himself right back into the same hazardous position he'd been in before. How many times are we like him?
I said unto them: It was a representation of the tree of life. And I said unto them that it was the word of God; and whoso would hearken unto the word of God, and would holdfast unto it, they would never perish; neither could the temptations and the fiery darts of the adversary overpower them unto blindness, to lead them away to destruction (1 Nephi 15:22, 24).
Not only can the boat represent the church - but it can also represent a relationship that can lead to eternal marriage. The world tries to portray a version of love that is all- consuming and full of lust or that personifies perfection, that the reliable, simple, slightly chipped varieties can seem unappealing and not exciting. It is a trick of the adversary to make relationships that are good and wholesome seem boring and unfulfilling. I, too, have found myself foolishly overlooking a companionship that can safely lead me to make eternal covenants and return to Heavenly Father, by choosing to think “This isn’t going to get me to where I want to go fast enough - I’m better off on my own.”
It's sad how Real this can be, We don't listen to One "little" Commandment or Guideline, and before we know it, Something bad happens and there's a big consequence. But The Lord will not give up on us, If we don't give up on him, Trust Him! In his Guidelines, His Commandments, etc. That sailor finding him was a Miracle! But the Kid didn't "See" it, The Lord may not Answer our Prayers Exactly how we want him too, or even when, but We Must Trust in him. I admit I may do the same, but I hope and Pray that I will be able to Understand, Trust in him Completely, and "See" his hand, and be able to recognize him. And I say this In the Name of Jesus Christ!
No one is better alone....someone always needs somebody a person who thinks they are better alone is wrong hurtful and very painful. Someone who says this to people not only hurts someone's faith they had but also a deep intense pain it causes to the people they say it too that has a deep impact on personal growth and how a person feels about themselves feelings of worthlessness being not needed not wanted and I think is the most hurtful thing a person can ever say to anyone and a hurt that can be worse than even loosing a child. It's also very selfish non caring and surely not christ like. I'm sure these people who think they are better left alone will see one day they was very wrong. I hope these people can one day say sorry ask for forgiveness and let themselves trust and love people again until then not much happiness will come. Nor helping anyone or have the need to feel used by jesus. It creates a dark hole that can be hard to crawl out of even if we can. The only cure is peace and care again from the person that hurt the other by thinking they are better off without people and better off alone this thinking is so wrong and very sad. No one should be ignored nor takin for granted nor ever thrown away. Christ made us all we are all to love one another and help one another. Help each other to grow. This is why we need one another not to be alone. Please do not ever hurt another human being. The destruction could be devastating. In faith trust and love in other human beings and can last till either god heals us or till we die. Be there for people talk to people help people love people and do it always with unconditional love. Until people realize the same unconditional love jesus has for us all and love everyone the same sadly this pain and rejection and destruction of self and others will continue in this world. It's sad devastating and horrible I know as I'm one of these people with the knowledge and understanding of unconditional love yet I was the one hurt by rejection and deep hurt by people who I love deeply and dearly.
Except if the analogy were accurate, the old man's boat is actually sinking, and is helmed by a blind man. Meanwhile, shore is just within reach and the cloud at 5:41 keeping the kid from seeing the shore is his own ignorance.

Absolutely love the message this video conveys! Don’t jump out of the boat! Stay in the boat and weather the storms! Everything will work out!
When we want to leave the church because we see things or people that aren’t perfect and we think that we’ll be better off alone, but where will we go? Where? Me too.

This helped me realize that god will all ways provide help when we need it, but it isn't all ways in the way we expected it
How anyone can dislike a church related youth film is beyond me
I guess we can all be like that young man to a certain extent. We think we're right and no one can convince us otherwise.
What a great video.
Yo that's my companion right now in the MTC, so I think he makes it back to shore alright
wait really?!?!
or dis prank

Yes! Thank you for sharing!
The soul of my being has opened up to the reality of this, thank you, so much.

I love this! It really makes me charish the gospel more. I think we can all agree we should always accept the Lord's offerings and gifts.

How powerful.
Glad you liked it!
Wow, did that turn out different than I expected! If I felt sorrow from watching this, imagine what Heavenly Father feels!
i know right

We helped film this. Great crew who did the filming, really nice folks. I enjoyed the short film, had a good message.
Reminds me of the video 'Stay in the Boat' also done by the church on this channel.
Love this one ♥️♥️♥️
This was very enlightening to see some one doing something I would do haha. Very good show. Thanks!

First comment in a year. I really love this video.
Thanks for bringing it back for people to see!
That quote at the end seemed to come out of nowhere. I think I need the full context of the talk.
Wow he should be a little more greatful to have been saved.
yeah he really, really should be
this is cool but I am a bit confused about the part with the shark

Im not perfect, far from being perfect actually. I have mistakes, a lot of them. But i know that the church is true. Again, The.church.is.true.
Great Vid Keep It Up, But does anyone realize the young man never gets home?
First. Also, this is awesome. Did he make it back?
since this is filmed most definently
I think the main moral of the story is to listen to more Grateful Dead so you know what a dead head actually is.
Does anyone know if this one can be found in Spanish or subtitles yet?
Not currently. Check out the Church's media library in the weeks to come. They may translate it. Thank you!
I don’t get it?
The older man on the boat represents Jesus Christ. He is our Saviour and He knows the way back to the presence of our Heavenly Father.
Nice
Where can I get all these songs?
Wait does he die
im scared for him,
i reaaly feel like he should of stayed on the boat and i am confused he never made it home
Sheesh
