    ❤︎ ABOUT ME ❤︎
    I'm Devi, a San Francisco yoga teacher who has been teaching for over 20 years. Yoga healed me from years of debilitating back pain, chronic anxiety and addiction in my twenties. Now at age 47, I specialize in teaching Yin Yoga, which calms the mind while relieving stiffness and joint pain.
    I've never been one of the most flexible people in a yoga class - but I learned to transcend the aesthetics of pretty yoga postures and to instead tap into yoga's deeper gifts. I'm on a mission to share this with others, and I've created a system to make yoga work for each person, no matter how different they are. I now do this through my on-demand yoga classes, programs and trainings.
    I owned my own yoga studio for 10 years in Tucson, Arizona, and I taught thousands of students there. Since 2010 I've been working with M.C. Yogi to offer classes and trainings at his yoga studio in northern California.
    As a Yoga Alliance Professional I've trained and certified over 150 yin yoga teachers since 2015.
    I’ve studied intensively with Suzee & Paul Grilley and was among the first teachers to earn their E-RYT 500 hour certification. My approach is a fusion of the Grilley functional yoga method, Sarah Powers' work on the meridians and emotional body, Bernie Clark's scientific approach and my own deep work recovering from addiction, back pain, depression and chronic stress syndrome.
    Subscribe to this channel to help in my mission, which is to share the yoga skills that have helped me the most, with the people who can benefit the most from this kind of help.

    Many thanks Devi for this practice! It is my first time practicing with you and it definitively won't be the last. You are the kind of teacher I need - the practice is long enough to sink into and have maximum benefit of each pose. Your voice is calming and soothing. I have enjoyed it big time! Namaste!🙏

    I've been following your videos for a while, picking and choosing what I think my body needs in the moment. But this is the first time I've gotten one of the knots in my shoulders to release. Magnificent. Thank you.

    Been alternating between headaches and knot in upper left back by shoulder blade for 5 days. I decided to do a yin class and so glad I found this! I always enjoy her class-great instructions and a soothing voice. Feel so much better.

    Dear Devi, this truly is one of your videos i like, cherish and use the most. My neck and shoulders regularly appear stiff after some rough nights, lack of movements or overabuse of body mechanics. Your sequence is fantastic, targeting all parts around and on it. Thank you so very much for sharing such valuable and healing insight. As of now, i imagine the 4'000 people who watched this video saved tons of painkillers and weird neck, upper spine and headaches. Thank you! Sincerely, mm

    Hello Devi, I love your yin yoga for upper body. How it gets into my throat and heart. I have a question for you: I have PTSD from childhood, and my solar plexus, throat and upper back are always tight and often painful. Especially my solar plexus. I am unable to do meditation sitting up because it's too hard for me to breathe unless I'm prone. Often the only way I can get a full breath is if I'm laying on my side or on my back. Do you have any tips for unlocking that part of my nervous system. I'm exhausted. 😊

    • @DeviDalyYoga
      @DeviDalyYoga  6 місяців тому

      It sounds like you’re navigating a complicated manifestation of PTSD. This type of release is not my specialty, but from what I know, if you’re doing yin yoga and restorative yoga you’re already doing some of the best things to calibrate the nervous system. You may get a more direct answer by talking to a therapist.
