    VERSE 1
    Come behold the wondrous mystery
    In the dawning of the King
    He the theme of heaven’s praises
    Robed in frail humanity
    In our longing, in our darkness
    Now the light of life has come
    Look to Christ, who condescended
    Took on flesh to ransom us
    VERSE 2
    Come behold the wondrous mystery
    He the perfect Son of Man
    In His living, in His suffering
    Never trace nor stain of sin
    See the true and better Adam
    Come to save the hell-bound man
    Christ the great and sure fulfillment
    Of the law; in Him we stand
    VERSE 3
    Come behold the wondrous mystery
    Christ the Lord upon the tree
    In the stead of ruined sinners
    Hangs the Lamb in victory
    See the price of our redemption
    See the Father’s plan unfold
    Bringing many sons to glory
    Grace unmeasured, love untold
    VERSE 4
    Come behold the wondrous mystery
    Slain by death the God of life
    But no grave could e’er restrain Him
    Praise the Lord; He is alive!
    What a foretaste of deliverance
    How unwavering our hope
    Christ in power resurrected
    As we will be when he comes
    What a foretaste of deliverance
    How unwavering our hope
    Christ in power resurrected
    As we will be when he comes

    OH MY GOSH. Thank you for remaking this as a lyric video. Matt Papa also has his own lyric video but to be honest the "flickering" was hard to watch. Thank you thank you! This is the first time I've heard of Matt Papa and am checking out all his stuff at the moment. I love new hymns. There's so much theology that is passed up by mainstream praise and worship songs and so more songsmiths like Matt Papa are needed!

    I didn't think it was possible that any significant Christian worship (this is a call to worship) would ever again be written. So very frustrated with the shallow, overly emotive, touchy-feely, Hillsong type stuff. Keep it up! More! How about some first-person worship now?! :)

    • @caracavicchia9336
      @caracavicchia9336 5 років тому +8

      I think you can lift up good worship without having to put all other worship music down. There are different styles of worship music, all worshipping the same God. That's the beauty of the universal nature of God's grace towards us.

    • @yjk5737
      @yjk5737 5 років тому +4

      Do you listen to Hillsong? Most of my favorite songs of their's have good lyrical depth to them. I like this one too.

      Norman Cash, I'd recommend reading Rhythms of Grace by Mike Cosper. It's a great reflection on what worship is (hint: everything is worship) and how any style is appropriate given its human audience. I tend to be pretty dismissive of Hillsong-type songs as well, and the book was a great heart check for me.

      I agree with Norman Cash. Here is an important article to read for those who support/like Hillsong and even Bethel music. I always thought to some of Hillsong songs, 'the words seem Biblical, must be ok". But, please read this article by Costi Hinn, Benny Hinn's nephew who the Lord has saved out of the false prosperity/healing movement. He is a born again believer speaking truth! He gives 5 great points to consider. The point that got me was how supporting their music...Hillsong and Bethel....you are supporting these false teaching ministries. Please research both of these ministries. www.forthegospel.org/should-your-church-sing-jesus-culture-bethel-music/

    Love this song. However, I wish singers and musicians would perform their songs in keys that work for average congregations. I know it sounds good in a tenor’s upper range. But not easy for the average singer...and I’ve observed too many congregants sitting out parts or all of songs. Too bad...

    • @brenttamatea7578
      @brenttamatea7578 4 роки тому

      Dixie thats a common problem in our small congregation we dont have full time musicians so we sing to cds or down loads and it is not easy to sing some of the songs as they are very high.With musicians you can lower the key sometime you just have to work with what you have.

      I guess I rebel against the notion that some of these groups perform for their own edification. So it doesn’t matter that they’re singing In a key that’s not singable by the average congregant. Of course, the tune can always be transposed to a different key. That’s not the point, however. Does makes sense?

    Love the lyrics and melody. Unfortunately the rhythm section strips the song of “wondrous mystery”. Does every song have to have percussion and a beat or can the text, melody, harmony and sparse rhythm section be sufficient?
