For safety sake it'd be sensible to have warning stickers This much beauty in this world today? Can be unsettling and confusing indeed Craig is a magic person He has tiny feathers on his ankles I seen them
Chalk hill rises overhead Up above alluvial Is it true what you said - chalk springs the fluvial? Flows into town - scatters people all around Do they feel it do they know Chalk under the bone? I have walked the Oldest Road - made 10,000 years ago Never more no Here a barrow there a mound Furnish them with sight and sound Do we hear it do we know Chalk under the bone? Back and forth into time Over chalk a pylon line disappears into the haze Happy day And I was born with flint in hand Write my name upon the land Never more no Even in a day, it only takes a day Feel the time unwind boy, even in the way It only takes an hour, even in an hour Feel the time unwind boy, even in an hour I have walked the Oldest Road Made 10,000 years ago And when the earth explodes, atomise the Oldest Road Never more no
Craig Fortnam Hey that's you playing!! Love the album. Your guitar playing sounds amazing. in places it reminds me of Ali Farka-Toure. Are you a fan of west African guitar music? Can I be really cheeky and ask what the chords are?
Here's my best shot listening to the song about 15 times. Craig, an you help? 0:25 Chalky wire sits overhead, up above alluvial. Is it true what you said? Chalk springs effluvial. Flows into town, scatters people all around. Do they feel it? Do they know? Chalk under the bone. Back and forth into time, over chalk and pylon line. Disappears into the haze, happy day. And I was born with flint in hand, write my name upon the land; never more though. [instrumental] 3:07 Even in a day, it only takes a day feel the time (unwind, boy), even in a way. It only takes an hour, even in an hour, feel the time (unwind, boy), even in an hour. Nice song, but if you're saying this is a cover of that, I can't hear it. (There are probably some Senegalese influences to be found it, though, because Craig Fortnam loves the Senegalese guitarists of today. And maybe they've been listening to some of this? Interesting family tree of influences, if so.)
Shockingly beautiful

Beautiful song. Is it inspired by the Ridgeway and the Berkshire downs?
Richard Jerrett Yes!

Richard Jerrett Yes I do like Ali Farka Toure - a definite influence. Email me through the AG website or FB for the chords….(capo on 3 btw)
The complexity of the rhythm is definitely in the African league; and such harmonies!
Can someone write here this song's lyrics? Or link them to me? I cannot find them anywere!
