I am from Congo listening to her testimony. Made me realize that freely people are enjoying the gospel in Congo today because of this great price of your life poured in Congo. Thank you Sharing the love of Jesus-Christ our Lord with us. I am encouraged to even serve as a missionary. it's indeed a privilege to be chosen by God
May God bless you and give you greater and greater love for Jesus as you grow in the love and privilege of Christ!

There was me today crying to the Lord how scared I was, how full of heart ache and sorrow - and now I have seen Helen’s testimony it gives me a completely different light on how sufferings can be turned around for good - it’s a privilege, not a burden any longer. Lord, help me to remember and hold onto this.

I only been a Christian for an hour and already I’ve been told it’s a privilege to suffer…that word privilege…a tough struggle, things aren’t going to plan…different for each one…say privilege and the burden lifts…God gives us the privilege to serve Him…friends, have you ever thought of it in this way? Love Dr Helen!!!!

Listening to our dear sister Helen is a real eye opener for me and understand something beter in my hart. I was in Rwanda Kigali 1994 as a Belgian Parakommando and expirienced the Genocide as a Medical combat paramedic. Now after 29 years i have giving it a place in my hart because now i know it was a privilege to serve Jesus during that time of Total darkness. The last 22 years i serve as a missionary in Tanzania. Love to all .
I hope Helen understood the privilege she was experiencing as she testified of God’s choice of her. Because thanks to UA-cam we can hear the tone of her voice, see her expression and understand her great love of Him for years to come! Millions of us, if we choose.

I'm a 47yr old woman, was a wife for 28 yrs, am a grandmother to three, and now divorced with a broken heart. When I look at Helen, she reminds me how fleeting life is on this planet. That death is sure but what is the only outcome that matters is do I follow Jesus' voice. Jesus said something that often has me pondering over.....'My sheep know My voice and I know their voice'. I was listening to Chuck Swindol's message on youtube called the hard of listening. Jesus really kept it simple in the parable of the seeds. Being honest with ourselves and the condition of our hearts is the only way we will change, that is if one really wants change when they hear their hearts yearning for more than this life can give. My divorce is the best thing to happen to me in spite of the pain. It is giving me a chance to turn to Jesus and look in His wonderful face. I had lost my way loving a man who didn't want the same things I did. Worshiping our husbands who do not love Jesus and follow Him will always lead us away from the only true love of our souls' cry.

It is not quite true that unbelieving husband can lead us away from Jesus! Nothing will seperate me from Love of God not even husband !
Shalom dear sister, I have also recently passed through a painful separation and divorce and as I was praying and crying to the Lord on what would have been our 38th wedding anniversary, asking Him why it had to end like this, the Lord told me to go and listen to Michael Chriswell of Relentless Heart ministry. Well I had not listened to this brother's messages for over a year, neither had I seen them pop up. But on opening UA-cam, the very first video that came up was by Michael Chriswell and it was called 'Why God Allows Some Marriages to Fail'! After that I couldn't get enough of his messages. A more recent message than that is called 'The Romans 8.28 of Divorce and Remarriage'. Very truthful d
One thing he said that has stuck out is that 'God is less interested in the marriage restoration business or our circumstance restoration business and more interested in our character restoration.' He is more interested in our being conformed and transformed into the image of Christ. When we have wholeheartedly begun to seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, then the Lord may either restore and revive your old marriage, or bring you a new godly husband.

'Mucky' is a very suitable word to describe the old earth.
The great difference between true Christianity and all other religions is the love of Christ that can soften the most hardened heart into one that can love enemies and one that can sacrifice all for the welfare of others. I wish all people were like Helen Roseveare, Richard Wurmbrand, George Mueller, or Paul Brand: it would be like heaven on earth!
Love Helen's grace and humility. She was most certainly filled with the Holy Spirit.
I am so glad Jesus kept her through, I am encouraged.
God is foremost for me but this woman is such a moving spirit. Thank God I found her.
I hope if I live to be her age, I can have the same joy and love that she has.

What a sweet, wonderful soul. I don’t understand the privilege of suffering part. I’m embarrassed by that but it isn’t something I can wrap my mind around yet. Perhaps one day I will be able to see it that way. Until then I trust His grace for me in my limitations.

Dear Sarah, would you read Helen's book, "Living Sacrifice" or listen to her longer testimony on UA-cam? She was a medical missionary in the Congo and stayed to help the people after most "palefaces" evacuated to escape the turmoil of a revolution. She and some other missionaries were captured by rebels, and she was brutally raped, beaten, and had her teeth kicked in. She suffered and forgave and continued to love and serve Christ and people. Only the supernatural grace and power of Christ could enable someone to love like that. It's the way Jesus loved us when He suffered brutality and abuse and gave His life to redeem us from sin while we were rebels against His Father. What is humanly impossible is possible with God!
Oh dear, I am sure that you say it because you’ve have suffered yourself and maybe suffering still, only the intimate fellowship with Christ can make us rejoice in our suffering.
May the Lord give you the peace that surpasses all understanding!
