I Wish You Were Here | Short Film BMPCC 6K

- I was inspired to make this film “I Wish You Were Here” after a couple of rough nights, some would call them nightmares but I think they were more like “visions”. I was only 14 years old when I watched my uncle die in front of me. My “older brother” figure I had was, poof, gone. I mourned throughout the years but I wasn’t aware of how deep my grief was until I became older and more mature. For instance the dreams of me seeing him and being able to say goodbye felt like I had to put them on film. “I Wish You Were Here” turned out a little different than the script due to scheduling issues with the film crew I was going to work with in Guatemala, which forced me to shoot the entire film by myself and not be in it entirely. This is where the character “Rudy” my real life father was created. While watching this film, I wanted the viewer to experience to be what is like to go back to the place where you lost a loved one. To this day creating this film helped me deal with my burdens, tell my story and honor who my uncle was to me, and in some way say goodbye.
I REALIZED A MASSIVE TYPO!!!!
The boy who became a man, today he becomes an angel. With eternal love your parents, siblings, nephews, uncles, and friends
I definitely don't want to re-upload but just wanted to clear that out!
This was shot entirely with the #BlackmagicPocketCinemaCamera6K in Guatemala City. #indiefilmmakers #guatemalacity

Don't stop pursuing this passion, absolutely fantastic achievement. I love all that this video embodies, people need to pay more attention to the smaller creators so that in the future we have more Quentin Tarantinos, Tim Burtons and Coppolas!

Without even talking about the incredible cinematography of this shoot, you have set the bar high for emotion and meaning. You said you didnt make it into the film and thats not entirely true. Your voiceover conveys more charactar then any visual ever could

I'm about three minutes in but this is amazing so far. I'm actually thinking about moving to Guatemala at the end of the year. Or mexico. Anywhere in central america! I'm done with the US.
Sheesh! dude that's a big move. Wishing you the best. I say Guatemala has a lot to offer. It's all about preference though haha. Hit me up if you need any help when you're there.
SI!!
Love the shot at start with camera behind him and pans around, very cinematic and lovely music too. Well done. Was it shot in raw 6k?
Sorry I missed this! Thank you Dan. Yes this was shot in 6K braw 12:1
I watched the sequel to this, "I Am Here... Now" I don't see how they fit together. This one is much better. I guess that's why they say sequels are always worse than the original
Hi there, love this short. What mic setup did you use? Sounds really clean.
I went straight into my M-Audio interface, I used audition. Mic used was the Audio-Technica AT897 Shotgun Microphone
Is the drone shot BMPCC6K too?
