American soldier: do you come here to die?
Aussie man: nahh mate i come here yesterday
lol!
I fucking love aussies
@@kurosakitagami2788 Your a bloody legend then! :D
haha made me realize im almost starving! need to get some pasta, yoghurt and tuna now. thanks for the recipe !
No problem! Yes, I did have a lot of examples that were food.
Yoghurt is not Greek food. It's Turkish food.
Bartu literally nobody asked

Some of the Australian pronunciations I thought were only slightly different. Really, in the U.S., the pronunciation of these words vary from location to location, person to person.
Old, comment, but I wanted to add that here in Mid-East and Northern America, "pasta" is pronounced "pah-stah," just like in Australia. I am aware of some weird people that say pasta, with the "a" pronounced like the first in "animal," but I've never met them and it's weird.
I'm from the UK.
It seems that the Aussie pronunciations are identical to the UK's .
Mike Gatto other than yogurt
Form TA yup
Because Australia is basically apart of the Union Jack which is in the UK, so brits and Aussies are basically the same
Do you mean the united kingdom? The Union Jack is their flag
Well we are your prisoners
He calls him Tuna because Jim’s first day at Stanford branch he ate a tuna sandwich. lol
bruh
lagginturtle 21 bleshsnkshs d fjdj
“Sweet basil seeds” is my new favorite exclamation
my favorite australian word is torch, i love it
Outfield 243 actually that’s not Australian, it’s Anglo, it’s torch in every commonwealth country excluding Canada because Americans have fucking ruined them
Jackson Purtell haha didn't know that
Outfield 243 don’t Americans call torches flashlights
Zambie About yep, not nearly as satisfying
As an American looking out at the world, you all seem so pretentious lol I know we seem cocky and entitled, but you all really seem like whiny playground bullies who think you’re always right because you’re older😂
ive been working on my australian accent so this video was very informative. and relaxing of course.
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed this video!
Love The Office! Great vid 💤
Thanks!
Very relaxing, looking forward to more videos like this!
Thanks!
Keith certainly isn't relaxed tho
Although on a second look that may be Kevin.
8:51 I must be a true blue Aussie since I owned that exact same mobile phone 📱 too. 🇦🇺
I noticed that when you spelled Mazda you pronounced Z as "zed". As far as I know, the majority of the United States pronounces it "zee". Cool video!
Yes, that's right. We pronounce the letter Z as "zed".
Aussie ASMR Man i dont, im australian and i say Z as "Zee"
personally I say both
Common to say "zed" in England too... the major thing to keep in mind, is that English as it is pronounced, has changed. Strangely, if you want to know WHOSE English has change since the revolutionary war here in America, is is that of England. America, generally still pronounces words as England did... way back when.
Dflex nah, cuz to me "zed" is a name
Wait pasta is the same in America at least where I’m from
Great video as all ways , thank you
Thanks and no problem!
Amazing video! Got yourself another subscriber! Keep it up!
Thanks, will do!
I'm American and I've never heard anyone pronounce kilometer like your sat nav does! Great video btw :)
Hey man! So I just now stumbled across your videos (because I was specifically searching for "Australian" ASMR, haha) and am addicted to them! Used to have to just pick and choose but I think I've found my "ASMR guru/channel" now lol! Keep it up, and..."G'day mate!"😄
Thanks, and will do, and G'day to you too!
Always look forward to seeing a notification from your channel pop up, hope you’re doing well mate
Thanks mate, yes I'm going great!
aluminium is pronounced differently in almost every different accent.
American: Al-loo-min-um
English: Al-luh-mini-um
Ozzie: Al-oo-mini-um
Thanks for the update. After reading your comment I was wondering if I included "aluminium" in my video - but I can't remember...
Aussie ASMR Man you did lol. That’s why I had to edit myself from “another word that’s different” to what my comment is now. I hadn’t watched that part of the vid at the time of writing
Indonesian: AL-U-ME-NUM
It's kinda funny cause by the way aluminum is spelled the people that pronounce it Al-oo-mini-um are incorrect. It's al-oo-min-um by the spelling. Aluminum vs Aluminium
@@sodiumftw2450 you realise that the IUPAC recognises 'aluminium' as the standard spelling of the element's name, meaning you're actually wrong - Al-oo-mi-ni-um is correct. America is in the minority in pronouncing (and spelling) the word as it does.
Great video as always! :)
Thanks!
My favourite pronounciation is water - Wotah xD
Do you say Wa-ter? Lol here in NZ we say Wor-ta
In Midwest USA we say wa-ter
Sometimes I pronounce aluminium the same as you but normally I pronounce it like “alla-min-yum”. Also, sometimes I pronounce water like “war-duh” other times like “war-tuh”. You might know what I mean when I say it depends on how proper I want to sound (I guess you could say less bogan) so if I’m just talking to people casually vs. making a formal speech or something haha
Great work on another video
Thanks!
Jim was Big Tuna. He was also Big Haircut. ;) Great vid!
Thanks!
I guess that’s why the America’s chirp my accent as a Canadian, it sounds like you pronounced all those word correctly.
Very very relaxing but honestly in in the midwest and a lot of the words i cant tell a difference in the pronunciation
Awesome!
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Fantastic.
Thanks!
I was just watching the office before clicking on this video. What are the odds... 🤣
I am excited to hear an Aussie accent in an ASMR video!!!
I'm not going to speak for all of Ireland cuz there's a million completely different accents but my area in south dublin says literally every word the same other than water, herbs, Nissan, advertisements, schedule, Iran, Iraq. (Water and herbs are basically the same just a tiny bit different)
Hey! We used to say keellomeeter but now we say kilahmehter just like you guys! (Just spelling wrong to try to show how we used to and now pronounce it)
We wouldn't say "three kilometers," we'd say "about two miles." ; ) Just the same, this video is very relaxing and I had a tough time watching it without falling asleep. Thank you for making it.
Thanks for your comments and I'm glad you enjoyed this video!
I live in germany and IMO the accents and dialects here are the funniest xD some of them are even for the people that speak the language hardly understandable :()
I would like to point out "mobile" is pronounced differently in the US because it is a homograph.
Mobile (as pronounced in the vid) is used in reference to movement. "I am mobile. How mobile are you?" This where the phone thing comes from too.
Mo-bull alternate pronunciation of the same definition.
Mo-bill is a toy above a baby's crib that spins. Second half of automobile.
Mo-beel alternate pronunciation same definition.
Interesting, thanks for letting me know.
In the bottle of herbs there was rosemary and we here in America pronounce it [row-z-marie]
I cant believe how different aluminum is between the 2... ahahah. that's wild.
I pronounce tomato as Ta-Mae-toe
Advertisments??? Whoa!!! I thought aluminium was odd! I love it! Not to mention Hhherbs and oregano, so crazy! And we say jelly not jam and concentrate instead of cordial (I had never heard of cordial before) and wow shedual????? Skedual... I also say rowt instead of route
Jelly and Jam are different things
To”mate”o
lol
Good job
Thanks
Great video, but where I’m from in the US everybody pronounces it yoh-gert, the way you said it in the video, I might be wrong and this is just where I’m from (South Carolina) or I might not have heard you right, but I think we pronounce yogurt the same way
Edit: also pasta and kilometer are both pronounce the same way here as well
Noah MacBride same in Virginia for all 3
Jake Kauffmann some people pronounce yogurt like yahgert
he said pasta not like a paw sound like we say it he said it with more of a pa sound
caleb edney idk anyone that says it like pawsta lol
My NameJeff then idk where u live bc where i live everyone sais it like pawsta
super!!👍
Thanks!
Great vid as usual. As an Aussie you pronounce most things the same as us Brits, ie the correct way.
Welsh Marvel haha - the correct way. Very true
It's not the correct way unless Brits are the creator of the word or the manufacturer of the product. Nice try, chap.
Ray Finkle We created all the words chap.
You keep thinking that.
Welsh Marvel actually early scandinavian vikings created english as a battle tactic so technically nobody who speaks it now is pronouncing everything correctly
I started laughed when he said Nissan but it’s kinda cool
I'm from Ohio, united states and I pronounce more than half of these both ways.
Whoever does time stamps I’ll felate you
Is England the only country to pronounce yogurt, yog-ut instead of yow-gurt?
5:07 leggo's lel
How about Tin vs. Can
American here... We call pasta, pasta lol “pah-stuh” ... also, yogurt. Pretty much the same, maybe some people may pronounce a more harsh “r” sound but there are many accents in America that would make the differences more striking... Come on down to the Southern US and we’ll teach you a thing about a thing haha ✌🏼
Heh the office was good.
one deep note for everyone; although yoghurt is known as greek in all around the world, it’s turkish origined. name yogurt comes from verb yogurmak in turkish which basically means ‘to knead’. as turks are nomad groups originally, yogurt was kind of basic food they consume, and it still is. why people call it greek is kind of marketing accomplishment by greeks.
This comment makes no sense, Greek yogurt is different from Turkish yogurt, also yogurt did not originate from turkey, no one knows exactly where it originated from though it is generally held that it came from somewhere in Mesopotamia though not necessarily from the region now known as turkey. Greek yogurt is thicker than Turkish yogurt.
Just as I start drifting off to sleep.......HeY dO YoU wAnT 5o% oF OuR bEsT cLoThInG in StOcK.😫🤦
“Basil” is also one, Americans always say “BAY-sil.”
Kirk Bozeman Not those of us who cook.
thepantweaver nope literally everyone says bay-sil
@@loganmueller4836 you say "literally everyone" because literally everyone in YOUR country says it that way, we pronounce it as basil
@@argrusvfx1582 actually no it's more like bay-zil
@@tosufootball1840 😐 everyone I've ever met in real life pronounced it as "bazil" not "bayzil"
I’m American and I say pasta the same as you, huh weird
Interesting...
I do as well but I’m a uk citizen in america
Why is your tuna can upside down?
Good question, but I'm not sure why it is upside down??
Because it’s in Australia
Firefox516 :p Hahahahaha!!!
beep beep delete this fits so damn well
He’s down under
I’m from near where they make Chobani 😊 also, there’s that old song “you say tomato I say to-mah-toe” and I always wondered... WHO says to-mah-toe??? Apparently Australians 😜
Yes, that's right!
And us Brits along with the Irish. And I'd assume the Kiwis say it the same way.
And Julia Child
...But absolutely NOone says po-tah-to. So let's call the whole thing off!
If you think about it an American accent doesn't realy exist because they pronounce words exactly as they are spelt, with the exceptions of some silent letters in some words.
I pronounce tomato ta-may-dough
Shouldn't it be upside down
its so funny the name of the yoghurt chobani which in greek means shepherd😂
I didn't know that and yes, it is funny!!
It is loanword from Persian, We have the same word in Turkic languages. Çoban in Turkey; шопан (Şopan) in Kazakstan and Çopan in Turkmenistan. Yoğurt is a Turkic traditional food and Turkic word. the owner of this brand a Kurdish man from Turkey.
Lemonade is not 7up
7up is a brand
I like that over there.
It's funny... in the U.S., if you're talking about a sweet alcohol drink, you might say CORE-jel, but if you're talking about a friendly relationship you'd say CORE-d-l. I guess it just depends on who your are. We're weird.
The real question here is..
American comedy, or British comedy?
I trust you'll give the correct answer, Aussie Man. :)
Kriegy c: I’m American, but British comedy wins.
taa, kate :)
They pronounce yogurt the same lol
I’m just having a hard time understanding how a “T” makes a “ch” sound
Mike Hawk say them out loud then it sounds the same
No one show Mike how xylophone is spelt.
how do you pronounce tree?
@@fleabag500 chree
Doc Mcstuffins well there you go
Yoğurt from Turkey. No greek.
Actually yogurt is a Turkish food, not Greek. But patent of it is secured by Greeks. Also Chobani (Çoban) is a Turkish word and means shepherd. The owner of the corporation is Turkish, too. His name is Hamdi Ulukaya. Not only yogurt but "baklava, rakı,ayran" etc lots of the Turkish foods patents are secured by Greeks. I dont know why, but we are not interested in patent thing as Turkish people XD but we must....
That's interesting, thanks for sharing!
Nissan pronunciation slightly irritates me lol.
that dumb grammarly app really woke me up
dingleberry ur profile pic kept me up
Right pronunciation: choona
Wrong pronunciation:toona
Gabe Tozer correction:
Right promunciation: Tuna
Wrong pronunciation: who cares
Y'all are just crazy lmao
Nah that's you lot. He pronounces all of these as English people do. Seeing they're the ones who own the language, they're correct.
Woahter
So people from Australia just talk like drunk Americans?😂
What's really interesting is how different these pronunciations are from the Chinese pronunciations lol
Even the word 'yoghurt' is Turkish, man as yoğurt. How can it be a Greek yoghurt! İt s a Türkish yoğurt! Learn it anymore dear world!
I thought the office was English
There's an english and american version
Please never compare lemonade to 7 up ever again
Do rugby union asmr
The Office is an English sitcom. America ripped it off as usual.
We say Ber-nerd in Ireland too, but my husband from Scotland says Ber-nard.
American's tend to say tuna fish because they have to add extra words for no reason. Like when they say Chinese food.
And your point is?
Could you please give me a shout out in your next video
Okay, although it will probably be in the next month or so. Do you pronounce your name Lay-Zee or Lay-Zed?
Aussie ASMR Man lay_zee
I don’t see much of a difference lol
Aluminium is one of the most egregious Anglian misspellings. They add a whole extra syllable. Aluminum is the way rational, god-fearing folk procounce it.
Helium, Lithium, Beryllium, and Scandium should become Helum, Lithum, Beryllum and Scandum then?
Not mentioning the dozens of elements ending with ium.
Checkmate your name fits perfectly with your comment and I love it
That’s just what we have learnt don’t get but hurt at how we pronounce words
So, if we add an extra syllable, does that mean Americans remove one in the case of the pronunciation of the word Herb?
SteveMac110
"Herb" and "Erb" are both one syllable.
2:06 .. That's what he said
When a greek realize chobani's owner is a citizen of The Great Turkey Republic:
:( :( :(
Лайк если Русский
Its fusilli, you talk about pasta as if it were something from another planet wow
Tuna-> “chooner.” how????
Because that’s the way that the phonology for that particular word has developed within his national and/or regional accent
@@Floral_Green big words go burrr
XD might as well read the whole dictionary, every word you say is pronounced differently
Americans pronounce it “orEg-uhno”you guys say “oreg-Ano” America is wierd.
Senor Fluff Thing Correction - Australian pronunciation: "oreh- gAhno
The US say banana the same
It's not Greek Yogurt. Turkish yogurt. They stole it from us.
You guys are so salty, aren’t you. Why can’t you just accept the fact that Cyprus is rightful Hellenic clay
@@Floral_Green jajskskdks the half of Cyprus is Turkish, you should accept the fact. Also, Yoğurt is Turkic food therefore i know how to make yoğurt at the house, so easy for a Turk. and owner of this brand is Kurdish from Turkey.
nah bruz we got that lebo yogurt
Americans say apricot like we say app...appricot
Gotta say the accent sounds quite camp, are you a practicing homosexual
No, I just enjoy making videos.
It does take practice though.
It's a pretty great accent, but I'd call this a Middle class Australian accent. Possibly Sydney, someshere Adelaide or ... Melbourne? How you said Scweppes, though...
I’m from England and I pronounce a lot of these words the same, but obviously my accent is different
Interesting, thanks for sharing
